Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Despite all the doom and gloom we copped from the media, even before the season started.

Despite all the terrible trashings we've copped on the field.

With 300 new members signing up this week, we might just pass last years record membership

Herald Sun Article

Meanwhile, our attendences are still going ok, somehow!

In the other Herald Article online today, the Adelaide boss has a go at us for suggesting that our history is worth something (possibly implying that Adelaide is a cobbled-together team with no tradition, built as a franchise, hell, they were the Camry Crows in their frickin theme song). BUT as a side note the article mentioned "The Bulldogs have collected $10.1m in ASDs since 2002, the Kangaroos $7.2m since 2003 and the Dees $6m since 2004."

Those six million are a big issue, though we could've handed much of it back for some decent fixtures. But the Dog's ten million leaves me wondering why we have been so heavily targeted? We've been sorting out our own stadium arrangements while the Dog's were the major beneficiary of some glorious pork-barreling that landed a $30m multi-sport facility in the west, courtesy of the Federal government (marginal electorate country, y'know).

I only bring up the contrast since our memberships and attendences, at the bottom of the ladder with one win and a % of not quite 61, are running higher than the Dogs who have just one loss, and a % of 129.

It'll be interesting to see how the attendces pan out in the next three weeks - both teams play brisbane in melbourne, and then play home-away games (Canberra for us, Darwin for the Dogs).

We can keep ahead of them even with the Canberra game, I guess is the message.

Fingers crossed for one of those bright glorious winter days in Canberra, as opposed to one of those 'snot freeze in your nose' piercing winds and sleet days.

I read that ..and must admit.. the first thing that came to mind.. was why wernt they signed up before ?? what..were they somne sort of protest vote.. how many others.. is that partuially why we had such a poor churning rate.. and really if a protest..against what?? bizarre

Its teh curretn sport didnt you know.. take anything regarding Melbourne, skew it out of recognition , avoid context..just make sure it shows us as the leaching parasites of the league..

Hell ..dont let the truth get in there anywhere !!!

Considering the position we are in, our membership numbers this year and fantastic! We're bottom of the table 2nd year running, struggling off the field also, and yet we are pulling in numbers on the verge of our best ever. I think that's a pretty good effort personally.

When we start to perform on field, those numbers will rise even higher next year and so on.

I would hate to think that people need us to be winning games to want a membership pretty fickle dont you think, if peoples positions were more financial i can understand not joining.

All clubs have the fickle lot but we seem to have more than our fair share

I think it's understandable that membership is higher when the team is going well (or is likely to). Many people buy a membership each year they can, regardless of form, but for others the membership is more about a season ticket to the footy rather than a quasi-donation to the Club. The latter want entertainment and value-for-money, something they won't get if the Club is going poorly or they can't attend games.

I'm not sure we have more than our fair shar of 'fickle' supporters. There's a general trend in all sports for membership to drop-off after poor form, and many other Clubs in the AFL have peaks and troughs that reflect on-field performance.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
