Agreed. Its sentimental, but an MFC victory is somehow diminished in non-traditional colours.

Does anyone know what the AFL's position is on the Grand Final? Are teams forced to wear alternative colours in the event of a clash. Its unlikely but I would hate to see the Dees play in one with that abomination.

If we were good enough to get into a AFL GF, I would be happy with just that!

I thought that that jumper could not get anyworse until I saw Brock wearing a long sleeve version of it, god did it look awful.

Brock Mclean couldnt look bad if he tried! And i don't care about what the jumper looks like, all that matters is how the team plays!

I think it's an average jumper.......we could certainly do a whole lot better than that.

I didn't mind the all red one with the blue demon head on it, and I don't see the problem in having to have a clash strip.

Doubt the jumper issue would have been raised had we won though......it's a bit of a storm in a tea cup.

Too right, Brock looked as if he was wrapped in cellophane or glad wrap or some such plastic stuff. Cripes, maybe there are a few blokes down at the Hellfire Club who are spicing up their sessions by donning the clash guernsey as we speak. And if those blokes are really in to humiliation and degredation and being dominated and the like, well, they could do far worse than whack on the clash jumper and then turn up to one of our games. They'll get all humiliation and degredation they desire and at a reasonable price too - unless, of course, they decide they want something to eat. Or have a beer.

I agree, I don't like this clash jumper. Mostly for the fact that it is mainly silver and this is not one of our team colours. If you are going to have a clash jumper it should at least be red and blue. I'm not even the greatest fan of clash jumpers anyway. The traditional ones are best and the newer clubs like freo should not have been allowed to have a jersey that clashes so much with Melbourne. All new clubs should be made to design their jerseys to not clash with any existing traditional ones.

Actually there is something to the Jumper Backs. . Often in the speed of play you are just being "visual" It does help to have the backs disimilar. Thats the argument re Ess & Rich...thats why the sashs needed to be bigger to offer a more distinct contrast.

On that note Essendon will support us in a predominantly red jumper.. , means they can play their normal jumper..

Is going to be interesting to see what design they now go for.

Ever watched Melbourne v Carlton or Adelaide? Particularly on a wet day? I'm in favour of a clash strip, although not this one.

Just keep it simple though - predominantly red with some navy, whether it be a yoke, a sash or even stripes (similar to Port Melbourne). Doesn't seem to require a rocket scientist.....

As I may have said before it probably looks like silver in Adobe Illustrator but in the cold hard light of day, lit by the sky, the "silver" takes on an horrid lilac tinge. Under playing conditions it has no robust and manly chromaticity. Get rid of it, it recalls the day of the Fuschias (sic).
