Congratulations to all those that turned up today... I'll be taping the second half. In what has been a truly crappy season so far, this is worth remembering.

What a win !!!!!! Does it get any better than today?

To all those supporters, who support the Dees week in, week out, putting up with such crap footy all year, copping pot shots from other supporters and the media

This win is for you today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we're gonna finish bottom, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate this result

il be up late watching the replay for sure

small crowd there though , said only 19,000

3,000 up on last year will help the club - and we were going worse this year in terms of magnitude of defeats and hopelessness.

I hope all those that went had an amazing second half and celebrated in a decent manner.

Everyone who showed up should be congratulated. It definitely sounded like more than 19,000. I wish we played someone other than Adelaide in Adelaide next, because a loss there won't help the size of the crowd the week after vs Hawthorn

Kudos to McNamee, without the extra press coverage and the promise of a kick after the game, the crowd would have been below 15k

Agreed. Showed some savvy. Savvy that actually contributed to the cause.

Nah i actually Garland did okay today. He needs to get bigger but he knew what his job was and, he did a decent job on farmer. farmer had little impact.

man pavllich is terrible at winning the game in the death

couldnt do it last week

same this week

from where i sat, he was single handedly keeping them in the match. and came relatively close to winning it for them....

brad miller you star.....loved the tough stuff! more importantly love your game. stood up today and played like a man

wonna you star!

bruce....absolutely fantastic....vocal....lead by example...could captain my club permanently if this is how he consistently goes about his footy

and plenty of others i cant be bothered mentioning.

one of my big philisophies in footy is that you need to make each individual player from the opposition feel like they are playing directly against 18 blokes, not just his own opponent. i saw this for half the day today.

 Don't go too far.

Nah. She's right. Garland looked like a bloke who thinks he's good enough at this level, sometimes that's half the battle.

As for Miller, it's frustration station i'm afraid. He was fantastic today, really good, does beg the question...

But who gives a sh!t, we won a game of football!!!!!

Miller still can't kick though. There is no excuse for a guy of his size to not be able to make the distance from inside 50.

He was very good on goal and that's what counted today. Delivered lace out to Wonna in last quarter. He can't be targeted much after today's game.

FFS, he kicked 2 goals in a minute in the third quarter which should have won them the game. But the other 21 shockers in the team coughed up the game.

Bizarre post.

Agree Rhino. Pavlich kept them alive single handedly in the second half. He is a genuine superstar, and I'd give my left nut to have him in our side.

Graz, it may not have been a premiership, but it sure felt like it to me. I'm still buzzing now.

Pavlich is a gun of the highest order being wasted away in a team that has done nothing but humiliate itself since coming into this competition. I would give my left arm to have him in our team.

Garland was great yesterday. He had a huge job on Farmer, and apart from one silly defensive punch which sort of gave Farmer a free goal, he played with purpose and dash. Some of his kicking was surprisingly great.

As for Miller, how can anyone say he can't kick?? He kicked 3 goals, 2 from set-shots, one from a snap around the body and hit numerous players on the chest, including Aussie in the dying minutes of the match.

No he isn't, nor will he ever be Matthew Pavlich, but with some self-belief and confidence he can be a very important part of our side. He just needs to back himself a little more.

Good call Jaded. At times he looked out of depth, everyone will remember that maniacal punch of the football to nowhere but I thought he has vastly improved since his last outing.

I wonder how many people will bring up Junior's horrific decision to punch the ball to a Freo player, instead of taking the mark?

Didn't think so.

Garland was terrific, and is coming along nicely. Sometimes all a young player needs is some belief from his coach.... <_<

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
