  4. No just the usual stuff. Welcome back I have missed you.
  5. Lots of Langfords best moments seem to be his link up work and his marking especially up fwd, rather than dominating the midfield
  6. He's going to have to carve out a role for himself now that other mids are pushing for his midfield rotations (River, Koz, Windsor and the top 10 mid(s) we draft). Could be as a tagger who can follow a star mid around all day. Will have to continue to build his fitness and size, not to mention getting a bit more nasty perhaps to get under the oppo's skin and really own the role. We saw with a lot of hard work and dedication what happened with Nibbler in his early 20's when he had to change his primary position from midfielder to high HF. I don't see why at 24 yrs why Sparrow can't do the same. He doesn't have Nibblers attributes but if he can get really fit and just bring consistent intensity I think he can play a role in our best 22.
  7. This guy will be a superstar. I'm never wrong with my track record pre draft 😉 Really hope we get him.
  8. Here’s a reminder … Langford is seriously very very good. I have seen him live at Stingrays games and for Vic Country v Metro. Seen him on multiple Coates leagues games off the app. Don't worry about the potential phantom drafts others put out where he might be 15 or 20. He’s top 5 in my books alongside Lalor, O’Sullivan, Smith & Draper. All could be number 1. If he’s available, I’m taking Langford. He’s footy winning ability, marking , endurance, strength, kicking and footy IQ are high quality. Sure he doesn’t run 20metres in 2.88 seconds but his game is build differently.
  9. A classic summary of modern coaching philosophy - as you say, yell at them more. That'll do the trick.
  10. Agree, has improved since 2021. I really thought after that finals series he would really kick on. Unfortunately if anything he’s gone backwards. Hopefully being dropped at the end of the season and some new mids coming in via the draft might give him the motivation to kick in a little bit. Might pay to ten down a bit as he doesn’t really used his size.
  11. Stagnated more than a pond full of mosquitos Young high-level draftees will quickly push him out of his HF role if he doesn't crack in next year
  12. If I was a betting man........... .

  14. I normally have mine taken out monthly, today the full amount came out. Did any one else have this happen to them?
  15. i'm not convinced he's ever going to be anything other than serviceable he doesn't impact enough for a second string mid and he doesn't run hard enough as a fwd / mid to replace the likes of anb we really need him to step up
  16. Got the job done. Won a Premiership. At the end of the day, that is the ultimate I'm of the footy club.
  17. I know this will not be a popular opinion and I don't know the exact amount of spots we've got on the rookie list, but St Kilda have let go of Brad Crouch with the promise to re-rookie him. He was injured this year, but played nearly every game the 3 years before that (since he move from Adelaide). If we wanted a midfielder to walk in and make an impact (as long as he's over his injuries), then we could do the Hugh Greenwood to him and get him before the Saints. Might provide some protection for the young guys we pick up at 5/9, while he has clearly been a high level player in the past.
  18. Analysis of our list, best 23, draft strategy and likely 5 & 9. He covers with good insights (for an Eagles supporter) and knows the history of our drafting with reasonable detail. Worth a listen imv.
  19. Not crazy but with these picks, he should have a beer in his hand …in my view, Dees would be crazy to miss Langford
  20. https://www.afl.com.au/news/1245422 end of trades, delistings and retirements pre the draft in my view, clubs are seeing this draft as being very deep and will look to add in some cases between 4-5 new draftees. I can see the stretching of picks, and going into the early 70s perhaps in this years draft.
  21. It depends on whether Richardson's mentor is a paid by the MFC. The club doesn't have unlimited wealth, and it gets to the point where paid officials need to do their job, or the club needs to find someone who can.
  22. Had to shoulder more responsibility as the club’s injury concerns deepened but needs to step up more as he closes in on 100 games. Date of Birth: 31 May 2000 Height: 186cm Games MFC 2024: 21 Career Total: 95 Goals MFC 2024: 6 Career Total: 34 Games CDFC: 1 Goals CDFL: 0
