Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Viney - tom mitchell who

Jones - the quiet achiever

T.McDonald - hero we needed

Melksham - a clutch player

Brayshaw - quiet but good

Spargo - same as above

Weideman - more to come (Same as last week)

Petracca - couldn't be stopped

Neal-Bullen - very quiet game

Gawn - game of moments

Hannan - competed for everything

vandenBerg - kicking was poor

Harmes - great three quarters

Salem - best kick alive

Fritsch - brave and ambitious

Frost - won his battle

Hibberd - quick and clean

Jetta - never gets beaten

Lewis - safe and tough (he learned what free kick hawthorn is)

O.McDonald - Tough and composed

Oliver - proper [censored] head

Tyson - looked very sore (big last qtr but)

Just wanted to say i think everybody competed tonight. It's all that you can ask for really. Hannan had 6 touches but i think he flew for 5 or 6 marks and created a contest every time. Same as Tyson, he may not be quick or as clean as our other mids but he chased everything and did what he could.

Jetta BOG!! held soft as sno cone Bruest to nothing!

Never Ever Rated Bruest

Then you and I are in a minority.  You can add Mitch Duncan and Josh Caddy while you are at it.

Breust is only ever icing on the cake.  In a dominant team, he will kick 4.  MFC supporters and many others have been sucked into his actual individual brilliance.  This guy would have done zilch if he was at Melbourne for most of this decade.

Go to any hot hard final that Hawthorn has played in, and he has done nothing other than the odd 'joe the goose' over the top.

Come on Spargo 2 involvements. Try 7

Mate, I gave Spargo the glass-half-full treatment.

If I was brutally honest, the 3 words he would have got from me was "Lucky to Play"

For a glass-jaw like you, just accept the '2 important contributions'.

Tyson is a whipping boy but is needed in the clinches.

Tyson has to 'know his limitations', and sometimes doesn't.

Unlike Vanders, he is so easy to tackle.  Hence, Tyson shouldn't take the tackler on.  Tyson is also treacle.  Lewis might actually have him for pace.  Hence (II) Tyson's radar/antennae for footy awareness must be on-song.

Not bad JB. Agree with most.

Tyson was good in the last. Lucky for him or else he might have gone out.

Melk sat on Sicily according to Goody in the presser so whilst he was quite he did his job as Sicily didn't hurt us.

Fritter made a few bad errors but jeez he has good hands and reads the ball beautifully. Great move putting him down back.

Omac - aka Dr Cool - played a super committed game. Got pole axed big time at one point in the second q and wobbled up to fight another contest. Ahe is a really nice kick. Fritter, Omac, Salem, Hibberd and Jetts are all good reliable kicks which is super important coming out from our back half.

The back six and maxy saved us in the second quarter with their fantastic desperation.

I nearly considered putting Melksham in my votes for his performance because he substantially diminished Sicily's influence. I thought he played a super, selfless game. The two goals in the last were icing on the cake (unless you're a channel Seven commentator in which case, it's "cream on the cake".)

Gee wiz, who was I a tad negative about?

Fritch and Tyson.  1 week later, Fritch is dropped and Tyson conceded he was "nervous" about his selection.

Your optometrist only sells rose-colored devices.

I was referring to your comments about Spargo which were way off the mark. But I doubt you will listen.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
