  1. Since info regarding Fev was 'sourced' I therefore will take it as accurate. But the above bit doesn't fit with the rest of your post. Is this speculation or posturing on your part? And I hope you're not one of those people who had inside info on Judd coming to Melbourne, or you loose all credibility on all points.
  2. Interesting how this vote has swung around after Fevola kicked a couple bags. Short shortsightedness and hopes of instant gratification are alive and well! I would be happy for Fev to get another crack at the AFL, somewhere else. Then I could enjoy watching Frawls run off him to kick a couple of goals whilst some of my fellow supporters wipe the egg off their faces.
  3. I might start a poll soon to see if it's ignorance or desperation that results in supporters wanting Fevola at the MFC?
  4. There was at least one tackle where he was rewarded with a free. I suggest you judge him on the 3 or is it 4 games he has played? I don't think I have seen Aaron Davey lay an effective tackle this year!!
  5. Eade is the wrong choice. We've seen all his tricks, he is a career coach. A month from the end of the season his thoughts while still coaching the Dogs turned to himself and his job security and I think he has pinpointed the Melbourne job because he sees us a soft "new" option. He wont bring the one core thing to Melbourne that is missing, which is a single minded self determination to suceeed. If he could he'd have done it by now and at the least got into a GF in the last two years when he had all his cattle. He'd have found a way. It's no good comparing himself to Malthouse vis-a-vis resources/FD spend. He'll face the same obstacles at Melbourne as he did at the Dogs.
  6. You might conclude so in terms of thinking they will have to pay more but on the other hand the fact that ass-clown is leaving Hawthorn at the end of the season may mean Clarko is more likely to stay there for less?
  7. I'm not happy as a Demons supporter right now but NOTHING would sway me to think Fevola in a Melbourne jumper would be a good idea. Career over!
  8. At the time Mick Malthouse signed his contract his role was undefined. The very simple way for Mick to get out of it is as he has indicated i.e. the role doesn't suit. The whole Mick Malthouse "football director" role came about as a means to ease Mick out of the job and Eddies mate Bucks in. At the time Micks legacy at Collingwood was still up in the air. It has only been the last 12 months that Collingwood have woken up to the potential embarrassment of having Mick coaching successfully somewhere else. I think the other point here is that Buckley would be happy NOT to have Mick there looking over his shoulder. It is more important that the pies keep Buckley happy than retain Mick. At the end of the day if they can't agree on his role at Collingwood under this contract, they can't prevent him from coaching elsewhere, unless I imagine they pay him out?
  9. No question we have gone backwards. I am actually shocked some people think we may have improved or need to wait and see how we go against 3 bottom 8 sides to decide! As others have said, Bailey's measure of our improvement was quarters won. We have failed this measure glaringly.
  10. Welcome to AFL expansion! Frankly I am amazed that the clubs signed up to this expansion arrangement. I can only imagine they did so on the basis of being won over by a promise of more money for them through the increased TV revenues and a gaurantee of their own existence (in the case of clubs like Melbourne). The AFL have not been secretive about their desire to see GC and GWS get a massive leg up hence the turning a blind eye to their own rules on recruitment (ref: Davis, probably Scully + others). you can bet the AFL will skew the comp to ensure both sides at least play in a GF in their first 6 or so years. Quite apart from the money being thrown at players I can see how some would be attracted by an AFL endorsed gaurantee of success without really having to work for it.
  11. I've heard DL speak at a function and he is a quality bloke. Did it real tough growing up and got to the top through perserverance. More important than that though he has been a part of a premiership and succsesful 'footballing' cultures at West Coast and North. We could do worse!
  12. Insightful, thanks!
  13. Dean Bailey has proved this year that he can't walk the walk. Blown away in every single game against top 8 clubs and has been unable to stop the bleeding on every occasion. Can't coach, full stop!
  14. Well that's just too stupid to even imagine (booing Scully). I have to admit to having a feeling of indifference when I watch him play, like I'm watching Judd or Hodge, but I could never boo TS and I trust no one else would. Of course if I see him in a GWS jumper next year that will be a different matter altogether.

    Monfries

What a scoop, but as if he needed to admit it! The only people who probably believe it wasn't staged are the robots at the MRP cahrged with disinfecting anything that looks slightly upsetting to the mother of an Auskicker.
  16. Because that was just the amount of money required to stay permanently inebriated and thus forget about the fact that your too poor to live 'comfortably'
  17. What I learnt from the bye weekend? I have no interest in footy when Melbourne aren't playing. I am so disinterested in watching other teams it is probably affecting my ability to make proper assessments of where we are at!! It does appear though that an inconsistent form line is not an affliction exclusive to the MFC.
  18. Apparently every disgruntled footballer in the last 30 years has been going to Richmond, but they're still [censored]! Maric needs more game time, simple as that. His kicking is elite and that is the most important skill in modern footy. If he walks I will be ropeable given some of the overpaid and non-performers on our list. Like Martin before him he will only flourish once the FD back him in for more than 3 weeks at a time. There is no reason for this not to occur before seasons end, moreso given the unrewarded faith shown in recalicitrant non-performers like Morton, Jurrah & Bennell.
  19. Shane Strempel anyone or is that classified as work place bullying now?
  20. What can you say? Just really sad, so very unfair and a reminder of how indiscriminate this disease can be. Loved ya work Wighty!
  21. Who is the vacuous suckhole who decided that this thread should angle towards engineering a way for Tom Scully to get to Richmond? I can't be bothered going back to see who it was. It is seriously laughbale the carp that gets posted on these Tom Scully threads, reminiscent on pre-pubescent schoolgirl gossip.
  22. Gee willickers, thanks......but that's a steaming pile if ever I heard one! Sounds like a version of something a 13 YO girl would make up. Have a another try with something more believable, that wasn't told to you fourth hand?
  23. I reckon both Essendon and Carltons clash strips are embarrasing. I have no problem with our current white alternate strip with white shorts. Omly problem I have woth this whole issue is that teh AFL are so limp wristed when it coomes to dealing with Essendon and Collingwood. Collingwood like all teams with substantial amounts of white in their team colours should be compelled to wear white shorts when playing against teams with no white in their colours. It's common sense.
  24. That just about nails it for me!
  25. Sorry RM. No on-line link. I'm listening to radio.
