  1. I'm pretty sure teams can have 8 rookies this year as (under) compensation for GCS.
  2. Stats, schmats Paul Johnson reads the play in another language and cant mark (for starters)
  3. Sam Blease and James Strauuss both wanted 17. One of them will get it
  4. Tim Harrington on Trade Radio - Warnock a required player and not much discussion (a few enquiries) about him.
  5. Pick 32 ONLY on the table for Hale - thank christ for that - sauce (Trade Radio/Tim Harrington)
  6. Cracking read thanks Nudge - keep it up! Anything we should know about with other clubs?
  7. I live in Richmond and escaped to greener pastures for the weekend. Returned to find vomit kindly deposited over my fence. I presume (without evidence) that it was a Pie. IIRC, the Collingwood chant used to came after a win - not during a game and certainly not in the GF parade. They are all class!
  8. Spencer cant be re-rookied. He's either promoted or off
  9. 1. AFL games starting at 4.40pm on SUnday 2. Lyndon Dunn's Hitler moustache coupled with pink mouthguard 3. GC 17 - the OTT concessions
  10. It sounds like when the weather deteriorated, the players swapped their moulded soles for high heels
  11. I Thought Newton did OK today given he had 2 and 3 opponents and atrocious delivery into the forward line. I'm happy to see him there until Watts is ready and way before Miller. Bartram had a decent 2nd half Bruce found the ball a lot and butchered it again. Bennell is very unpredictable apart from knowing that Davey will always look for him. That's his value to the side - as well as some decent skills. Scully was below par but wont hold that against him. MacKenzie is super impressive - he just goes and goes. I hope he doesn't have to return to the rookie list ever!
  12. 6 Junior 5 Frawley 4 Jamar 3 Bennell 2 Trengove 1 Green
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if one bloke - drowning his sorrows in a bar at half time says, crestfallen, like we all were, 'may as well toss this in the bin.' The next day that's somehow translated into hundreds of members binning their scarves. Sounds like rubbish to me.
  14. How about you pick up your scarf/tea towel and send it to Supermercado - damn good cause! There's a good lad
  15. Out: Would like to have Miller & Bate out but don't think we have replacements. Jones was atrocious - caught every time AGAIN, Dunn - fumbled every mark in the first half and roamed uselessly in the second. Poor old Strauss - they were comparing him to Zac Dawson on the radio. I would keep him in to to avoid permanent scarring. Spencer not much chop In Sylvia umm How to beat MFC - numbers around the ball, crowd them - add a pinch of pressure and intercept/gather the 75 1 metre handballs to nowhere.
  16. I've seen a bit of Hughes and nothing of Healy. I saw Hughes play a blinder for half a game with Casey last year. His first half was unremarkable and his second was sensational (Can't remember who it was against). On that half game I thought he might have a chance at AFL level - particularly at this time when our forward line is so thin. He is an excellent mark but I'm not sure why people think he's a good kick (in front of goals that is) As a goal kicker he's not far ahead of Newton for accuracy. Having said that, I don't think Newton's a bad kick - he just has no confidence and it's all between the ears for him. I'm not sure if Hughes is a dud kick or is just nervous in front of goals - his action is unusual. I also think he needs to get on the park for long enough to make a case for himself and start to routinely impose himself on games. If we promote a forward rookie it will be him v Newton. Bailey (to me) gives every indication he's not interested in Newton so Hughes is a show. I'm not hugely excited but he's got an excellent opportunity with our injury list ATM. NB> I'm not sure how many rookies we can afford to promote. On the one hand McKenzie and Spencer would be at the top of the list but Newton (and Meesen) would cost nothing to promote. It could all be down to bucks $
  17. Geez - Look at Dunn for what he is - in the forward line he is avg (being kind) overhead and will always look for a cheap free (in fact will look for a cheap free anywhere over the ground). His weakness is he relies on fancy moves rather than putting his head over the ball (Quote Mark Riley when at the MFC) and you can translate that into the forward line. He's been at the club for a number of years now. He'd be in the forward line if he had the goods and he's not. Bailey hasn't missed anything. He'll get time down forward because the options are diminishing but dont get too excited. Ricky Petterd will kick twice the goals because he has twice the application even if half the talent. I dont doubt Dunn will give 100% but he is what he is and doesn't find the footy (would like to add yet).
  18. 19 - Ray Biffen - the jumper's a bit too moth eaten to trot out for Maric, but when he puts in a blinder you never know!
  19. I would have entertained Bradshaw to fill the void in the forward line until our younger recruits were ready. He clearly stated he wanted to return to Victoria. The Swans offered him THREE years and he's 31, not to mention decent coin. End of consideration.
  20. If anyone, he reminds me a little of James Strauss
  21. Agree entirely! Apart from his obvious shortcomings as stated above - cannot read the play!
  22. Green at CHF and Miller at FF = spinal grief Good Grief!
  23. Good future in the VFL or Gridiron. AFL Spud
  24. Bruce Davey Moloney Morton Frawley Very close between Bruce and Davey but how many games Davey was tagged out of?
  25. Robbo is dense and probably needs a ghost writer. Notice how often it is dropped what great mates he is with AFL footballers?
