  1. My ex-girlfriend barracked for Geelong. i converted her about 6 years ago. She still follows the dees. What a chump (but a nice chump)
  2. Well said Doc
  3. Furious - your post reads as though 'I'd love this but I'll accept this.' It's winning games from here on in. Players wont be sent for surgery in round 16 anymore. I'm not interested in gearing up for pick 6 and resting players . The FD knows all about the players we've got. 2010 - onwards and upwards
  4. I heard it was Salopek. Didn't Boak support Geelong?
  5. In no particular order: Garland Maric Jurrah Frawley Wonna Grimes Morton Davey Watts Bennell Warnock - stiff Jetta - sleeper
  6. Doggo, I think it's 6 weeks on crutches then 6-8 in the moon boot (or other way around), so I assume it's due off soon
  7. Apologies if I'm going over old ground but can anyone shed any light on Pierce Liddle (or whatever his name is). Is he playing, injured, homesick?
  8. Last year, I thought he'd never make it. He's improved in leaps and bounds since then. If that continues he could be a good ordinary backman. I'm not overly excited but he has a crack and any lack of accountability will improve with age, size and experience. The thing I liked about Peter Walsh was that he was, without fail, one of the few players who would take the ball back through the centre corridor, no matter what the situation was nor how wide every other schmuck was taking us - an admirable quality! For the record, I don't see that in Cheney (yet).
  9. The reason for the high number allocations is that Blease and Strauss both wanted No. 17. In the end, Strauss conceded with words to the effect of....OK I'll take no. 9 then. There endeth the allocation of low numbers. It happened after Watts was given No. 4, so next year all newbies may be given higher numbers.
  10. Like Watts and Blease, Dangerfield was doing Year 12 in Geelong last year, travelling from Moggs Creek (btw Anglesea and Lorne) to school each day. He played a handful of games for West Adelaide and got a game or 2 for the crows toward the end of the season, He had very limited training with the Crows last year, largely to allow him to complete Year 12. There was an interesting article about him last year - him trying to juggle year 12 (living 40 mins west of Geelong) and training and playing with Adelaide and the SANFL(he would occasionally travel from Moggs Creek to Adelaide for training) as well as playing for the falcons - a tough gig!
  11. Yeah I've only seen him play in a couple of games, but thought he was along way off. Not very comfortable at VFL level let alone AFL
  12. Richmond tanking - I don't think so! They are likely to get pick 2,3 or 4. You wouldn't tank for a second round priority pick in a shallow draft and you certainly wouldn't tank for next year when I assume - no matter how rubbish you are, you still get diddly squat with a priority pick (given the GC draft grab). West Coast is more of a worry with the chance at 2 picks from 1-4. For those of us who detest Richmond, there is more good news - Danny Myer - late first or early 2nd round draft pick by the toigs and delisted - will make his debut for Port Adelaide this weekend. Much like David Rodan! All the best to Danny - I love it! Good luck Adam Thompson
  13. How were the numbers? Many people show up?
  14. Nearly agree whole heartedly but I don't think Jones will be dropped in a hurry, for the same reason Junior will not be dropped. Petterd on the other hand needs to go back to Sandy and be chucked on the ball and see if he can work his way back up from there. He has courage in spades and that has kept him in the side but as you say his forward role will work one in 8 or 10 games. Let's see if he works in the midfield even if it takes a bit of time. So for me the outs are: Petterd and Whelan (if and only if injured). I'm not excited about Dunn or Jamar coming back in so either Bell, Bartram, Valenti or Cheney and still not all that excited. Bell or Valenti for Petterd and Cheney for Whelan if injured. Jamar in if Johnson is about to collapse without assistance Out: Petterd (Whelan) In: Bell/Jamar (Cheney)
  15. Scottish is the one you're looking for Och eyh da nu
  16. Bartram - ferocious at pill Bate - nothing yet again Bennell - poise with errors Bruce - butchering marred intensity Davey - another top game Dunn - back to twos Frawley - excellent creative game Johnson - better this week Jones - pinged but OK Maric - let him settle McDonald - great stopping game Martin - OK in parts McLean - slow but effective Meesen - another decent effort Miller - up against it Moloney - another good dip Morton - showed his potential Petterd - OK in parts Rivers - RDO Robertson - saw him chase Sylvia - good tackling game Warnock - solid and reliale
  17. 6 Morton 5 Davey 4 Frawley 3 Warnock 2 Moloney 1 Junior
  18. Bailey has got his premiership side in mind (constantly). IMHO: a] it doesn't look muchlike that b] it has quite a few blanks in it
  19. Is Bruce is the highest paid player? Not necessarily!
  20. MFC = No forward line Bartram - my condolences (how about you vultures bite your tongues for a week) Bate - shocker x 3 Newton ditto Bennell - enjoyed his game Dunn - not that keen Johnson - VFL Footballer Jones - caught with sherrin Morton - distance btw best and worst = nullabour I question whether the following players can a) play in the wet and/or b. play football: Morton Bate Newton Johnson
  21. About 41 tackles v Port = not enough. McDonald will increse the tally but you need to get up around 60 + per game
  22. Trade him. He's not coping with the tag and will be the first tagged every week Eg: v Ling v Kirk v Rawlings v Baker v Dunn* *= joke
  23. Johnson - Bring back Jamar (never thought I could utter those words)
