  1. Absolutely, agree 100%. Talent wise, he is up there with Jacko.
  2. If it were up to you, Jurrah would still be on our list on his 100th chance. I am no psychologist, but when it comes to predicting Liam Jurrah, I think my track record is second to none on this forum. I don't need to go over it in this thread - as it is already in the Jurrah thread.
  3. He was a hell of a player, very talented individual. Should still be out there, but didn't have the mental toughness. So I would partially agree with you, that he is mentally soft.
  4. You mustn't like Freo, you've just ripped them off. This isn't the 90's, I doubt they'll bite on that. Like your creativity though bud.
  5. Goodes is a bit like Mitch Clark, there is an issue a week. I seriously doubt race even plays a part, but each to their own. At least Waleed Aly speaks well, I give him votes for that. I don't necessarily agree with him, but I would like to hear more from him.
  6. I don't think it is a 'no go zone', but it is a waste of time for us to be speculating, or even wasting our time on Clark. As supporters I think we should be focusing on our opening win, or our upcoming game. The Clark chapter is done to a dinner, we now have Lumumba and he has been brilliant. We have Vince and Dawes coming in this week, Hogan is running out for his second game, Brayshaw had a great debut, there are many talking points.
  7. I thought Clark should've stayed with us. He had a good support structure. I just can't see it working at Geelong, and I'm not sure how he gets out of this one. So It will be interesting to watch. The guy clearly has issues. I actually feel sorry for him. He will do anything for attention, and I don't say that as a dig at him, It's obviously a deeper issue for him. There will always be controversy surrounding Mitch Clark, there was when he left Brisbane, there was when he came to MFC. There was controversy while he was at MFC, controversy after he left and now he arrives at the Cattery. I say good to luck to the Cats. I hope they have a good support structure for Clark - because they'll need one.
  8. They are very similar. Hird probably has the slightly better name, just due to the fact he hasn't bullied anyone. I think Armstrong was more dangerous. Hird tends to use legal measures as a threat, whereas Armstrong used defamation, slander and blackmail. Both cut from the same cloth though.
  9. Gawn is progressing well and Jamar could go on another season. It is important that our ruck stocks don't fall below the standard too much - as it is a VERY important area. Everything starts out of the ruck, and if a side can get first use and take advantage of that, that is a good start. Any modern day midfielder knows the value of a good ruckman.
  10. Climate change is happening, but to curb it's momentum some companies might have to take a hit to the pocket. So let's just sweep it under the carpet.
  11. Actually he has got off fairly easy. Toumpas is really only maligned amongst the Melbourne supporters. Opposition supporters aren't as invested in our success, so they tend to be a bit more forgiving. I hope these players just realise how fickle us supporters are though. It only takes one good game and we are back singing their praises.
  12. Sometimes I just think it is the Richmond jumper. You could put the leagues best 22 in those colours - and they'd still finish 9th.
  13. Worth every penny. MFC was a rabble, I'm surprised Roos even taken us on. Glad he did though, without Roos and PJ, I shutter to think where we'd be.
  14. How good would it be if we landed Dangerfield next year - after the Crows knocking back the prospect of adding Brayshaw/Petracca this year. It would go down as a monumental error for the Crows. I think it was a no brainer at the time, they should've taken that deal, it was a super deal we offered.
  15. I disagree that depression is a weakness of the mind. Some of the most mentally strong individuals get depressed over the most trivial of things. But I think you raise a good point about Mitch Clark being a quitter in general - as we actually see a pattern of behaviour to suggest you are correct. But there is no pattern to suggest that all depressed athletes quit in the fashion that Mitch Clark has in recent times. Many players have battled depression and have not quit. Mitch Clark obviously has other issues. Whether he even suffers from depression is speculative IMO.
  16. I'd be happy if he was half as ruthless as the 'Iron lady'.
  17. I agree with that, although I'd probably swap Howe for Jamar. Jones, Tyson, Viney, Dunny and Jamar. Howe is underrated for mine, but I think when Jamar is up and running - he gives our mids confidence.
  18. I think the structure and routine does a lot of these players the world of good. I shutter to think where Dustin Martin or Dane Swan would be without it. Lance Franklin, Wayne Carey, Ablett Snr, all players who would've been in jail without football. So I understand Luke's point about structure and routine - I just don't think it is a bad thing. I think the landscape is changing, players are becoming more educated and clubs are pursuing players with academic potential. Players are now setting themselves up early for life after football.
  19. I think Grimes needs more time to hit up targets - than others. He has to get set to hit a target. I will admit, I'm not big on Grimes, I don't see him on our list beyond 2016.
  20. From those reports, it is good to hear Jimmy Toumpas is relishing the 'dog house' drills. If we can get Toumpas accustomed to physical contact - then the sky is the limit. Toumpas is completely deficient inside of a contest, it is an area of complete weakness for him. I think if we can get Toumpas to play without fear of contact, that it would go a LONG way to improving his ability to find the pill. As good as he is on the outside, he is only on the outside due to fear. MFC can't have players who wait, our mids will have to be versatile. Jack Viney has the complete opposite problem to Toumpas - in that Viney needs to sometimes not go in, and actually spread more.
  21. Tom Scully is now being celebrated as the saviour of the MFC, I'm afraid the love fest is here to stay.
