  1. This is good. I imagine Oliver in his second season, he will be an animal. We have an exceptional young list. Lock em away.
  2. I think Roos simplified the game plan. If we implement too much variety - it can lead to confusion. The Diamond defense is simple, both to implement and carry out. I think our variety is for our mids to play two way accountable footy (basic one on one), while our defense keeps a simple structure (Diamond). I think that is our answer as well, for our mids to know our broader structures, but to largely play within themselves. Everything for MFC depends on the midfields ability to clear the footy. When we dont do that well, our basic structures will be exposed IMO. The more our mids develop, the less exposed we will be, the more attacking we will be, and the more exposed the opposition will be.

  4. The womens league is a rush job anyway. Realistically they should hold off. Blind Freddy can see that.
  5. Kieren Collins wouldve been the answer had we not flittered away a pick on Melksham. Not sure where to now. Hogan would be the leagues most promising back if played there - but is also an invaluable forward for us. We still havent replaced Frawley.
  6. We were right in the game. There was just crucial umpiring decisions that killed us. Usually I dont lay blame with the umps, this week I lay it all there.
  7. Fair call. Let them worry about our midfield. Push it forward and put their undermanned backline under the pump.
  8. Bernie on Stringer or Bont. Bugg takes the other. It is a mental thing, Bernie and Bugg are the anti-dote to certain types. Bernie smashed Dangerfield last year and Bont is of similar type (mentally). So is Stringer. Its simple really, disrespect the narcissist types early in the peace.
  9. Big props to Knightmare off big footy for idenifying this one early. Peaked my interest WAY before we taken him. So props to Knightmare. Oliver has a stubborn, one way mindset, I knew he would punish the selectors for dropping him. Most players would drop their head, this kid does the opposite - same as when he was overlooked for nationals in under 18s, responded by dominating TAC cup. Has that Jack Viney approach to life. We will smash GWS with kids like Oliver, Viney and Hogan.
  10. Especially now that he is under performing up there. We should be able to get him cheaper. He is a class player, so skilled on both sides of the body. Can play forward, midfield, or back/wing. Good decision maker, could be a solid pick up. Underrated.
  11. It was a clear weakness, and one that MFC didn't attempt to rectify. Port have put A LOT of work into Toumpas contested ball efforts, and overall inside game. It is starting to pay off, he is making slight improvements. I think eventually the penny will drop. In hindsight it is easy to say MFC drafted the wrong player, but I think we also have to acknowledge that we didn't handle Toumpas as well as we could have. He had weaknesses, and MFC didn't attempt to rectify them, and if they did, clearly failed in doing so. I hope Toumpas makes it, and I see big improvements this year, I like the kid. Good luck Jimmy.
  12. So glad Paul Roos is handling this. I like the line "I'm yet to see one player beat 22".
  13. Who cares what they say. By winning games we will determine who talks about us, not the other way around. Even then, Lloyd and Damo won't be giving us props, they will be harping on about draft picks, it is never ending, these type of cucks cannot be pleased. But people who know their footy will be lauding praise on us when it is deserving.
  14. I will go the obvious and say Prestia - just because we know he supported MFC and has previously been linked. Outside of that Adam Saad would be a good fit, he is explosive, I worry about his hamstrings. But we have to the end of the year to have a good look at him. He is certainly a very exciting football player. He is everything Lumumba tries to be, and more.
  15. To keep it balanced, he does also bash blokes. He doesn't discriminate by gender - I give him that much.
  16. I wouldn't want to take it further either. Bikies don't play, I wouldn't want the stress either. Dusty is practically untouchable. It just is what it is.
  17. To think we got Brayshaw for him. What a steal.
  18. Frawley still slow hand to foot I see.
  19. That is a good article. I had forgot Gray did his ACL. Petracca looked massive in the upper body on future stars, and not in the bad way, just a big kid.
