  1. Forget Jurrah, I just hope that all the victims that he hurt throughout the past few years are recovering well. Football is not going to keep Liam Jurrah out of jail.
  2. Lewis Taylor would compliment any bottom 8 sides midfield stocks. VERY classy young kid, Sam Mitchell like. Couldn't even compare Taylors skills Vs Freemans, hemispheres apart. Taylors height kills him, but he is a footballers footballer. The hype on Freeman is ridiculous, pick 12-20 is about right.
  3. Viney is cut from a completely different cloth to Grimes and especially Trengove. Jack Viney gives the younger brigade a voice within the leadership group and a more approachable guy for the younger brigade. What do we know about Viney? He is a dead set leader, bleeds red and blue, isn't afraid to speak up, plays football like it should be played - follow Jack. Viney is a dead set lock for leadership.
  4. Captain - Nathan Jones. Vice Captain - Garland, Frawley. Leadership..- Viney, Grimes, Cross, Dawes, Clark.
  5. Interesting it says his height is 182cms. Looks a lot smaller in his footage. Be glad to get draft day out the road, it's an annoying lead up this year.
  6. GWS could do worse than draft Scotland.
  7. Good to see Lewis Taylor finally get some props he deserves in that article.
  8. Sando has came out of this looking not to flash. The played responded in his first year and didn't look to respond in his second year. Perhaps it was the change the players needed... It's good to get players to play for their coach, but the aim is to get them to do it consistently, year in - year out. Sando has a big challenge ahead of him in 2014.
  9. Could tell a far worse story about Harley Bennell, but wouldn't do the kid much justice.
  10. I think with Roos being a big basketball fan and knowing Watts was an elite point guard, that he believes he could find a niche as a midfielder. Given that Watts hasn't really dominated one spot, maybe Roos feels that Watts could become an elite on baller. I don't know I agree, but I do think that it will top Jack's game off, after this year he'll have played forward, back and midfield. If he can become a decent midfielder, then he has that versatility to be able to shift back or push forward. It won't do Jacks future any harm at all.
  11. For either years... You'll be hard up to find a scout that would tell you otherwise as well. The kid is a unique talent, that doesn't mean he is the hardest working and has a rounded game. But as far as pure talent goes, Garlett easily surpasses both years.
  12. Still many question marks over Garlett. Once again, he'd be the most talented kid in the draft though, for the second year running. Given all his issues, his chances for success probably lie with Hawthorn, a team he barracks for and would want to play for. I feel that if Garlett played for a bottom side, he'd just think he is collecting a pay check and in turn he'd go on benders. He isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and appears to have some sort of mental disorder, but even still, I haven't seen a talent like him come through in a long time.
  13. I think Liam Nash from Gippy Power has seriously potential and could develop as a midfielder - or a future KP player. Missed out on the country Vic side due to injuries and no pre-season. Related to Opals captain Belinda Snell and comes from a family of gun footballers. I'd take Nash as a rookie, I have no doubt at all that put in an AFL system, he'd pass 90% of kids available.
  14. Davis is spot on... Thank you Michael Davis for putting Whately on blast about part time commentating.
  15. After looking at that, perhaps we should just take Kolodjashnij and just change his name, problem solved/
  16. Two more things.. Vince speaks very well. Family friends with the Trengoves. Kurt Tippett has no credibility in the football world, Vince stressed a few times that he didn't want to be seen in the same light as Kurt TIppett and that walking out on the club for money is not in Bernies character, I thought it was a good little dig.
  17. Yeah, Fuller would be worth keeping an eye on. Would be an ideal mature aged pick up for us in the upcoming draft.
  18. Yeah I think we've still recruited ok. Clark, Dawes, Vince, Tyson, Brynes. I agree we aren't a desired club, but we haven't done too bad considering we've been a rabble. No doubt we'll recruit more quality if we can produce better results on field.
  19. I said earlier this year that we should be looking for coaches from the Sydney and Geelong production line - and thankfully PJ was well ahead of those thoughts. We appointed the very man who built the collectivism that was seen at Sydney. Roos ingrained a collective culture where the players played for each other. Roos encourages everyone to be leaders, work together, etc. Malthouse is on the other end, his ego does not allow others to work with Malthouse, they are below Mick, they take their orders and it's Micks way. In the Mick Malthouse environment, assistants don't have much input or creativity - because Mick has one way and is a prickly [censored]. Mick is a people motivator, he gets the best out of individuals to perform, he knows the game of football intricately, tactics, etc. But.. He doesn't encourage collectivism and he doesn't have a team ethos wherein the team works as one solid unit - like Sydney. This is why Nathan Buckley has had so many problems with individuals at Collingwood, it's going to be a hard ship to turn around. Buckley wants to a collective culture where players work together. There is no comparison between the Sydney/Geelong production line of assistants Vs the Collingwood line.
  20. I think Jones would be best served to try and find another string to add to his bow. He has the body and skills to play other positions, whether that is the wing or back flank. Jones won't make it solely as a midfielder IMO, but if he can become more versatile then he can still be handy.
  21. I think we should chase this bloke as a rookie. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/cricket/australian-crickets-lost-generation-has-been-sacrificed-by-self-serving-states/story-fni2fnmo-1226749977316
  22. If available, I'd take Billings, Lennon, Salem and Taylor over Freeman. All 4 of those players have far superior skills and balance than Freeman. I'm not on the hype train this year, so i'll be giving Freeman a miss, he is no Patrick Dangerfield.
  23. Palmer was a ball magnet in his first year, but he was still an average kick and wasn't really a one percent player. Wines is a one percent player, hits the ball hard, tackles hard, basically does everything that a Joel Selwood type player does. Players in the mould of Wines and Viney will find it easier to back up because fundamentally their games are based around getting the football - at any cost. The stronger they get, the more football they will get, they are inside beasts - especially Wines... I'd expect Viney to really come on next year. Rich, Trengove and Palmer are all solid players in their own right and have strong attributes, but they don't attack the football with the same desperation that Wines and Viney do. It would be a dream to land Ollie Wines, but I haven't heard a kid speak more strongly than Ollie does of Port.
