WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
Ted Lasso replied to xman97's topic in Melbourne Demons
Even unproven key forwards who showed promise and went as high picks seem to hold far more currency then mids, i mean look at Tom Boyd. -
Jesse Hogan is going to love him delivering the ball inside 50...

For me, Charlie Curnow is this, he could be an absolute superstar but i think he could be a flop too Parish for me is just a jet and a really safe option, i'd say Oliver will be a good player as well -
I reckon if fit Trengove slots back in somewhere.
-
He's a spud.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Ted Lasso replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Certainly fits the theme of competitor, would be a good choice. i just don't feel we can pass up the opportunity for a Parish and key forward combination Oliver reminds me of Gus Brayshaw but with far less class but makes up for it with just determination and will. -
3. Parish 7. Best available key forward

I do see your point, not every key forward is a Jesse Hogan... I always felt Tom Hawkins showed signs in that time, not consistently enough, i personally watch the dogs quite closely and haven't really seen much that tells me Boyd is all that special. -
Certainly Daniel Rich would be nice, i reckon Jesse wouldn't mind him delivering long bullet passes to him

Jack Grimes Tom Mcdonald Colin Garland Nev Jetta Sam Frost Jake Melksham Bernie Vince Nathan Jones Christian Salem Aaron Vandenberg Lynden Dunn Angus Brayshaw Jeff Garlett Jesse Hogan Cam Pederson Max Gawn Jack Viney Dom Tyson Harry Lumumba, Dean Kent Thomas Bugg Christian Petracca

I reckon we'll see Essendon grab a key forward and a mid with their first two picks.
-
I really think the powers game style didn't suit Moore, in a more contested side i think he'd prove to be a solid AFL player.

Always very difficult to read the development of a key position player as they're playing on men, Tom Boyd became the number 1 pick because he was huge and dominated skinny kids, now at AFL level he is struggling to make the jump, his bank account isn't but that's a whole different convo -
Curnow and parish for sure.. Dons will take mids, suns at 6 the danger

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY
Ted Lasso replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Kennedy can play! But i feel we paid overs. -
I wonder if we could offer another player in howes place for the suns deal? Pick 6 and watts or grimes
-
Kennedy and a pick seems okay to me, kennedy has some ability and if we could snag another second rounder that's a win
-
He is going to take his time with this one, he'll need to be 100% sure he wants to be at the MFC to sign this extension, from what I've heard he'll be ( and rightly so ) one of the highest paid in the comp.
-
There is a strong possibility we may retain the Toump, the only real interest outside the MFC that interests him seems to be the PAFC, who have pick 28 on the table for him The issue they're going to have is that the Suns won't accept pick 10 alone for Charlie Dixon so they may need to add 28 to that to get it over the line, and hope we'd accept Andrew Moore for the Toump
-
Giants offered him 700k last year and have no interest now, shows how serious that offer was
-
Keep driving that price up guys, Freo would have to hand over a player, all of their picks are tied up in Mcarthey and Bennell
-
I think it's probably just the way things have worked out, I do wonder if our dire on field position has forced us to look more for Aaron Vandenberg types to try and have an impact right away rather than take a chance on someone who may take a long period of time to develop

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Ted Lasso replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
Brendan mcartney and simon goodwin would be the perfect two to judge if jake is any good, willing to back them in, i think he will slot into the best 22 -
we clearly need that type of player, I think Kennedy fills that role to an extent and Salem certainly playing through the middle, but Anderson would walk into our best 22 imo and really add a whole new dimension
-
Bit of a gamble associated with Toump, could fulfil his potential and imo has shown glimpses, but he could also provide more of the same which is simply not enough
