  1. Whens it start?
  2. No Nathan Jones or Bernie Vince? i expect Petracca to play mostly as a forward next year, Trenners i very much see as an inside mid and Oliver may not have the tank to play a whole lot of midfield minutes just yet
  3. I wonder if we'll still jump at Curnow at 7? a week ago Taylor admitted he was right in the mix for pick 3, i know things change pretty quickly but clearly we rate the bloke
  4. I've been very vocal in my preference to take Parish, but as it sits i'd be pretty surprised if it's not Oliver. Oliver and Francis/Weiderman/ Parish
  5. Olisk is going to lose his [censored] if we select Parish at 3
  6. I have a really good feeling about Balic
  7. Got the feeling Trenners is going to be back with a vengeance this year, remind everyone in the footy world he's as good a young player as we have.
  8. If we could Snag Kieran Lovell at one of these picks that'd be a huge win, nearly as good as ANB at 40 odd.
  9. I would just about jizz in my pants if we got both Oliver and Parish i reckon.
  10. Mills is a gun mate, i'd take him over any other player in this draft but Weitering.
  11. I reckon improving the quality of the supply to Jesse is more important right now then fighting him a partner, hitting him on the chest he's going to be a 70 plus goal forward as soon as next year imo, Dawes and Pedo aren't stars but they're good enough to drag a defender off him
  12. Jack Grimes to re-cement his spot in the best 22
  13. Say we go Oliver at pick 3, and by some miracle both Parish or Weiderman are there at 7 would we go the two mids, or the forward
  14. I'd still take a punt on him at 7, his running will improve, i see him as a bit like Jake Stringer in terms of he's a bloody good player but he will slide because of his injury noone has seen it, just little flashes, personally think he'd be top 3 if he'd been fully fit all year.
  15. He looks like copping the ultimate punishment for his mistake, being drafted by Carlton.
  16. As much as anyone else watching i suppose, he was dominant, the the tackles he laid looked like they seriously hurt. what he lacks in class and skill he makes up for in grunt and determination, and he's an angry lad, doesn't mind throwing his weight around and letting people know what he thinks of them it seems.
  17. Maybe we shouldn't have a discussion forum because we have no influence over it. it's pretty simple really, don't like my posts don't read them.
  18. There ya go, i only watched one Bushies pre season session this year, and he was doing a bit there, perhaps just testing things out. he's bounced back very well from the OP to still have the pace he does.
  19. I don't understand your attitude, is this not a debate about a very important selection? or am i not allowed an opinion unless it's the same as yours?
  20. Pros and cons as i see it for both Oliver.. 1. Contested ball beast, wins clearances, could easily be a Cripps or Wines type player who should have an impact right away 2. there was a knock that he might have been a bit slack early this year, he's turned that around which shows great character 3. he's certainly got some leadership potential 4. fits the direction the interchange cap is going to take the game i believe 5. finals-type player. Parish 1. Dual All Australian, proven performer over a long period of time. 2. brilliant decision making that is damaging and opens up the game for his team 3. very good on field personality/leader 4. adds a point of difference to our midfield and adds the pace and class we seriously lack 5. a great mix of inside and outside, probably the more balanced mid of the two both imo are going to be good players.
  21. I guess we will see on draft night, personally i find Parish to be a far more compelling prospect, neither will be there by 7 imo so they're very much going head to head
  22. That's probably because you haven't seen him play live. Trust me, the only way Oliver controls a game is by winning clearances, Parish can do that ( granted not as well as Oliver but he still wins them) and he can impact a game far, far more in other ways, his pace, skills and decision making can open up the whole game for a team. I'd much rather play against Oliver then Parish.
  23. I suggest you confirm that he actually had no pre season, because i'm quietly confident he at least did a part of pre season. secondly we're discussing who is a safer bet, a kid who's been injury free for two years or a kid who's struggled with OP... Thirdly the knocks i have on Oliver have nothing to do with pre season or not, they're simply that i don't think he's all that smart as a footballer, just a bit of a brute.
  24. Oh for sure, but when you watch a kid playing in the national champs on in a midfield with several other likely top 20 players and he stands out like crazy because he makes good decisions that much quicker, i reckon you can take an educated guess that the kid will be okay.
  25. Parish will be fine in the modern game Tony because he wins his own ball, uses it extremely well and is brilliant in close, he makes amazing decisions in a split second that open up the whole game for his team. Oliver has alot to learn about being a footballer and Parish has to develop the body of one. both are going to take time, but 2 years of All Australian selections and brilliant form that matches or betters anything Oliver did in the good patch he had suggests Parish is the best option to me.
