Delistings/trades at end of the season
Ted Lasso replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like it, Craig Bird is walk up start to our best 22, and a serious upgrade on Matt Jones and co, knows the Swans game style well and should fit in nicely, and Watts gets out of Melbourne and into a team that can use his Weapons rather than highlight his weaknesses -
Limited footballer, if he were more athletic with his attitude and attack on the ball he'd be a jet, unfortunate.
-
Name and shame the bloke so he cops it for the rest of his life. absolute pizz weak.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Ted Lasso replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
On the plus side, I think this is the definition of " a head for radio" young Joe will have a nice career in the Media if footy doesn't work out. -
There club didn't fail them over and over with poor decisions, they had a strong plan, stuck to it and are now getting rewards, good on them for cashing in

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

In terms of the WADA thing, you'd think Goody would have a fair idea of what the go is there, also if Macca applied for the coaching job he must be reasonably confident it won't end too badly. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

I wonder if we could swing a straight swap for Chris Dawes? -
Oh please, we sucked because the club tanked and created a losing culture, recruited horrifically and couldn't develop the few picks we did get right, made horrible choices on and off the field won 30 odd games in 8 years, looked set for another full rebuild before becoming a finals team under Roos with no guarentees that'd come off. loyalty in footy is far less common it's about what we can offer the players, Hey Chip, wanna be part of another rebuild? Hey Chip wanna come play regular finals footy? if we fail to meet expectations on our end good players will leave, if we don't keep improving I reckon we'll be having the same conversation about Jesse Hogan or Christian Petracca.
-
I watched the Toump pretty closely during pre season and he was on fire, he's a totally different player when the games start, if a team can get his head right, he'll produce form like in the Saints game consistently and suddenly pick 4 for the kid doesn't look so bad.
-
I don't understand all the hate towards Chip, he endured one of the worst, if not the worst patch the club has had on and off the field for the first 8 years of his career, he was 26 with finals looking like being at least a few years away and had a really nice contract from a side that looks like they'll be contending not just for this flag but probably the next few years as well. if you take the MFC supporter bias out of it it's a pretty obvious decision and good luck to him, hopefully he can experience a good win next weekend.

2015 Player Review - # 30 Alex Neal-Bullen
Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think I mentioned at the time, when he was drafted we rated him a late first round pick, fair to say we were pretty shocked when he dropped to pick 40 odd. -
I reckon in 3 years time we'll be talking about both Salem and Tyson as being A graders and Big Fish.
-
Also by next year we'll be on par with geelong imo anyway.
-
Andrew gaff.
-
I think every remotely good player contracted or not will be mentioned in this thread.

Dion prestia and josh kennedy, I'd take that -
2015 first rounder (6), 2016 first rounder and jeremy howe Beat that geelong
-
Same boat as orourke was, late first round or very early second round
-
Straight swap for jeremy howe
-
Giants are going to want as many picks as they can get for Treloar to help get the academy players they have, so if the pies want Howe they're either going to have to include another club in the trade or cough up a best 22 player.
-
I wonder if they'd take Dawes and a later pick, experienced premiership key forward to help young Schade as a chop out for a couple of years.
-
I must say i'm pretty surprised by this decision, I get that Dangers family live in Geelong and he's obviously a family man and all that, but he's been at the crows for a while and has some great mates, they're further ahead of Geelong on field by some distance, some of the off field things that have happened there would have made the group even tighter and the Crows could offer more money.
-
So the crows match the offer, and the cats have to cough up potentially 2015 first rounder, 2016 first rounder and a player to get him across.. Dees swoop in and offer up pick 6 and Jeremy Howe for Danger
-
Would Witts be of interest?, could use a bit more depth in the ruck department
-
They can have Chris Dawes and H back as well as Howe if they give us anyone who is remotely good.
