NON-MFC: Round 20, 2022
From the AFL game day thread "Searching for their first win since Round 21, 2014 at the MCG, Brisbane gave up a 42-point lead and were overrun by the Tigers. This came about as Brisbane's ball movement was stifled by Richmond. In the first half, Brisbane turned 34 defensive chains into 16 forward 50 entries and 6.3 (39); in the second half, 30 chains only yielded seven entries and three behinds."

How Geelong Stays Competitive
"But the most critical edge that Geelong have over the competition is in player payments. They have more elite players who’ve given up dollars and have averted the modern plague of paying for potential - eg, paying a third or fourth year player $450,000-$500,000 when he’s done diddly-swat." Hard to argue with this point. It was also why Hawthorn did so well for decades

The Run Home
We have significant upside in Gawn and Jackson if not Petracca as well. Can they regain their earlier dominance. If so we will kick winning scores (accuracy permitting) Melksham is delivering but can he sustain/improve it over the next 6 weeks Salem has a lot more to contribute. I'm not super confident but equally not without hope. BBB when fit over Weid is a no brainer for me

CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Must say I was thinking similar. Also the forward marks he took were mainly uncontested although he does seem to have a natural ability to position himself well. His time will come next year

Wouldn't it be strange if the Pies ended on top of the ladder

CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Weather for next Friday is a little rain and windy Last year we excelled in those conditions playing our percentage system. Not sure that it still works though Harmes was quoted as saying he's fit to go next week

CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
If you were playing the drinking game for every time the commentator uses the word "spikes" you'd be under the table
-
CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
Good point Last week I mentioned that we are not challenging the younger players enough but there was strong disagreement by some Even a half in a new position every second or third week would do no harm. Winning the VFL flag is nice but it's not the real game

CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
And JVR goals (reflex kick)
-
CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
Commentators saying JVR having a not quite there game even with his two goals. The conditions don't favour marking

CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
Casey continually handpassing high to keep the ball alive but it's not really working
