NON-MFC: Round 22, 2022
Saints could surprise... with luck And as I post Lions get a last minute goal to put them back in front
-
TRAINING: Friday 12th August 2022
Describes many of us supporters as well I'm afraid. Post bye season has been a leveller to say the least
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
And they said the get back Hogan was a bad idea
-
TEAMS: Rd 22 vs Carlton
A bit disappointing.. I don't see this side as being one to go deep into the Finals On paper it's our easiest game Oh well
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
A medium level ruck would command around $450k per a year. We have to get a ruck. For an extra $250k we get an AA ruck. Provided he is clearly fit it makes sense. Mind you I'd love to get $400k a year out of the Pies
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
Good to see someone questioning the ruck myth When they can play well in another position ..great Otherwise.................
-
Forward 50 connection? It's the gameplan
Not sure Lever knows any other kind. Langdon can be similar I think
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
To get the Treloar deal done the Pies made it known they would pay $300k of his $900k salary for five years. If you could get them to pay $400k of his $1M Grundy could fit money wise for us
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
It's widely reported as being $1M per year for 7 years of which this is the second year
-
22Under22 Squad 2022
42 named players = almost 2.5 per team We got 4... good result Swans have 6
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
you can't have a premium pick and a salary dump as you say. Strange supporters those Magpie fans Whatever we do get the deal in writing. Remember the Treloar fiasco where post trade no one was sure who was paying how much of his salary and for how long
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
Just don't see the synergies between Gawn and Grundy. Two very similar players Jackson and Gawn works because they are different types of players. If intended to release Gawn forward he needs to nail his goalkicking. And then there's the money. Even if we only pay 60% of his salary he's not cheap
-
Forward 50 connection? It's the gameplan
100% correct but why not have modes A, B, C & D You can change the mode during a quarter even. Prevents the opposition anticipating your strategy
-
Jesse Hogan
The nay sayers in this thread have not really advanced any reasons as to why this move should not be considered. He left us and Freo under a cloud but he appears to have got those aspects under control. Anyway that is capable of being investigated and confirmed. Is he fit. His form at GWS suggests yes but again needs confirmation. The upside is massive and the price is right. I'd be disappointed if we didn't examine the possibility closely

CHANGES: Rd 22 vs Carlton
I'm ready to swap Melksham for JVR. It may not work but we are going nowhere over the next 4-6 weeks with this forward setup. Chandler is the conservative addition. His VFL form is excellent but I wonder if he can deliver at AFL level
-
New Deals for Moniz-Wakefield, McVee & D. Smith
Need a good midfielder Good luck to these guys but other than AMW who is tracking okay I would be surprised if they make it. Nothing to be ashamed of. They are still at an elite level relative to most
-
CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
Floating... the VFL very similar to the Titanic
-
Who's helping to fix our goal kicking woes?
If so that's where they need to practice shooting from. I agree it would be better to be in front but if you can improve the pocket shot by 20% you win most games Headphones.... screaming distracting noises.... practice
-
NON-MFC: Round 21, 2022
Don't tell me Lions to replace us on percentage perhaps?
-
NON-MFC: Round 21, 2022
If Saints win the night before against Brisbane... Carlton will be fighting to stay in the 8 Should be a good win for us but.................

NON-MFC: Round 21, 2022
Multiple combinations but I suppose we are hoping for Carlton to beat Brisbane but not by so much that they get say a 5 point percentage boost. Life would be so much easier had we beaten the Dogs and the Pies Swans looking good to move into top 4

Jumping Joel goes forward
He's had one game in around 16 weeks and that was against the near bottom VFL side. In that game he got a few touches in the last third none of which were meaningful. Add to that he's never played forward in an AFL match. We're desperate but not that desperate yet
-
Jumping Joel goes forward
Sarcasm aside your points are valid which is why his position will be as a defensive forward which does not involve the skills you mention. Mind you with his luck an injury is almost certain. His real problem is that he has missed so many matches it's hard to see him being match fit during the last 2 weeks of the AFL season. Do the VFL play finals in the bye week. If so that could be useful
