  1. We have a deep aversion to the corridor at all levels it would seem
  2. Bedford and Tomlinson not playing VFL Which one for the sub?
  3. The Dog's no ruck in the seniors is an interesting gamble.Hope we can take advantage tonight JVR showing little but delivery has been the usual.. to the pack in the pocket about 30 metres out
  4. Casey continually hugging the boundary and being made to pay on the quick turnover
  5. Great goal by Chandler... picking himself for next week if he keeps it up
  6. Terrible example of AFL football. Thirty players around the ball
  7. Pity that the Hawks don't play any of the contenders in the remaining rounds unless you include the Dogs in round 23
  8. Should have been a walk in goal for JVR but delivery was not there
  9. Casey not impressing so far. Bulldogs much more fluid
  10. A twentieth team in China. Over a billion fans who have come to know and love Aussie Rules thanks to the visionary Kochie. Mind you the expansion to NZ and India is just over the horizon but then what about the team in Los Angeles
  11. 32 degrees, humid as hell and bright sunshine here in equatorial Asia. Kayo have blocked my VPN so I look forward to my occasional VFL fix on the dodgy stream. I have 500Mbs up and down so it isn't my end methinks. Not sure how much of the old Western Oval remains. It was always a bit of a concrete jungle. Wonder if they serve any notable culinary delights a la Port Melbourne with the Burra burger and the king sized dim sims. Enjoy your day OD
  12. Who can forget trying to listen to a game and as we would be attacking it's off to the fourth from Cranbourne. Listening to ABC coverage interstate had a similar issue
  13. Was quietly confident last week but not so this week. Bulldogs have a sub par defence. Hope we have a plan to exploit it. Weideman will be double teamed so not expecting much. Fritsch to kick 5 if he kicks straight. Bulldogs will try the tsunami style run and carry attack that Collingwood use so successfully against us. Need to stop easy exits from our forward 50. Last nights result did us no favours. Big game in the context of the season Would like to see Salem drifting forward from time to time.
  14. Wait.. there's more !!!!
  15. He is but a shadow of the Hogan we knew
  16. I'd be tempted to play Jackson forward and Weideman in the second ruck role. Just cannot see Weideman contributing up forward especially as the number 1 tall. Dogs play English in the ruck so Weideman might break even
  17. I see Mitch Hannan is listed at HBF on the Bulldogs selection sheet. Does he ever play down back
  18. The end of the ultimate dream team. Countless early draft picks. Players traded for more draft picks. Outside mids that dreams are made of. Why did they fail... was it just coaching or did their drafting and pursuit of a free flowing style of game not fit the close checking style of play that many teams adopted Wouldn't mind the younger Green at the right price
  19. Quite a few games for the top 7 to slip up on including our own. I'd expect three losses for the top 7 (hopefully we're not one of them) which could see the ladder taking shape. Wins by Richmond and Port are not impossible and they would be great for us
  20. Brayshaw renegotiated his contract on the back of his stellar post bye season of 2018. He would be paid very well.
  21. Different times Then...Less than 4 wins= 2 picks .... therefore a serious leg up Now not so much
  22. If the players want to make it work... yes For Jackson it's money.... we could easily accommodate two years on $650k.. but if you're offered 8 x$1.3M Brayshaw.... far more complicated... he fancies himself as a star midfielder... is he ???
  23. There's probably 4 or 5 players vying for Toby's spot and even then his position was deemed worthy of elimination this week at selection so there will be a few disgruntled and bemused players. One of Chandler or Bedford may as well try elsewhere next year Must say I do like the idea of a straight swap for Parrish with Bombers paying half his salary of course
  24. Actually I'd pick Chandler or Weideman but the fact is the forward line still didn't function last week and we were saved by Pickett's performance. You need to score goals to win and if you weaken an already underperforming forward line it's a strange strategy. Melksham has rarely performed when selected as evidenced by his two earlier games. Anyway let's see
  25. For all the talk of Melksham's defensive game he hardly got a kick. The strategy didn't seem to free up BBB or Fritsch and if it hadn't been for a mercurial performance by Kossie Pickett we would have lost the game. So we drop a small forward (albeit underperforming) and add no one up forward. Does this mean Petracca is to be played almost as a permanent forward. Okay but our midfield isn't exactly performing at its golden best and it happens to be the Bulldog's strength Strange team selection
