  1. We are now reaping the rewards of not exposing other players A VFL team that is 15-0 and...... Hope for a win tomorrow
  2. Melksham is a lucky cat. Chandler... unlucky again
  3. You could be right. It would have to be him or M Brown as the emergency forward Wonder if Dunstall will travel as the emergency mid? His position going forward is the relief forward/back so that makes sense
  4. As the song says.... "You can't always get what you want"
  5. Picks 14 and 16 for a pick 3 at 20 years old on one of the league's biggest ever contracts and NAB rising star winner. Nowhere near enough
  6. It's Chandler in but who goes out? I would have thought Melksham but it would not surprise me if Spargo is dropped.
  7. Not too concerned Good player but with Salem and Jordon not sure where he fits. Very happy for him to stay but if he wants to pursue mid field fame .......good luck
  8. When we were winning I said to a friend that watching Melbourne was like watching a python devour it's prey. Slow and methodical. Gruesome but not exciting. flashes of brilliance from Oliver and cameos from Langdon pre rib injury. Now that we're losing.... resigned to it. Took the losses to Collingwood and the Dogs quite hard and the score in the loss to Geelong flattered us. It's such a long way down from Bang, bang, bang !
  9. Wow...he's worth two first rounders (think Lever) one of which at least would need to be top 5.
  10. Not to worry ... the pundits will tell us to be grateful for Freo's first rounder, their 2023 second rounder and Meek
  11. Cake and eating it is the metaphor Money, Premiership and home all delivered by Freo Why do the hard yards with WCE We have been so outplayed here it is starting to become laughable Funny thing is that he may end up at WCE by default
  12. Straight out of the script of Jerry Maguire and so true
  13. Well argued especially the piece about LJ on the wing. Certainly left field but I appreciate fresh ideas
  14. Yep I suspect he or his management had it all worked out. Silly us thought it was just LJ taking a punt that he would be worth more dollars in 2023 than what he was being offered in 2020/21. We've been played all along
  15. For those who like conspiracy theories the 3 players from the 2019 draft were automatically given the standard 2 year contract on being drafted. IIRC at the end of 2020 all three were offered fresh contracts taking them to the end of 2023. LJ finally elected to only agree to a two year extension whereas Rivers and Pickett extended for the full offered term. How long has the WA fix been in? Most of us assumed the pressure would come from the WCE but was it Freo all along?
  16. he's only gone if Freo can come up with the trade goods If you mean he's gone to WCE...that I could believe
  17. His VFL success has been as an attacking forward positioned between 35 and 60m out. Not to say he isn't but I can't recall much outstanding link play. He's very different to Spargo who I've always regarded as a defensive up the ground player who provides important linkage. For me it's Melksham out and then assuming BBB comes back in it's either Chandler or Weid. I say this simply because we have to add firepower to the forward line. Others may have a different view on the ability of Melksham to contribute. Just looking at the weekend forecast for Perth it could be quite wet. If so I'd opt for Chandler.
  18. My comment was about the act of rucking and was meant to draw attention to how easily two comparatively experienced ruckmen were imo relatively negated by a novice. My following comment re the worth of Jackson was meant to underscore the belief of many that a ruckman who cannot also impose himself around the ground has a limited career in AFL. Perhaps you saw worth in the ruck work that I didn't. Anyway each to his own
  19. Can't say I've noticed that as a stand out strength in the VFL but the game at VFL level is often crowded and scrappy More he has the sense to get free and find a goal
  20. Hunt was the obvious sub. Next year Joel Smith if fit is a good sub candidate
  21. It's not somuch his contract as any sane club would be demanding that Collingwood pick up half. It's the contract length if it doesn't work. Unable to replace Cox who this time last year was unwanted. If GWS loses players of the calibre they are suggested to lose they have a lot more "risk dollars" to spend than we have. If going down this path Goldstein if available for a year is a far easier deal
  22. mmmmmmmmmmm
  23. O well I did have Collingwood as one of our better chances of a win in the next four weeks
  24. Agree It's either him or Chandler with Melksham out. Unfortunately I think it's all a little too late
  25. It was always a horror run home and last night's loss makes it worse. 2 out of the last 4 would be a great result
