  1. He might have if the VFL team didn't have a bye
  2. Salem... backpack....bricks Let's hope this stupidity never repeats itself To Eddie it obviously impacted you badly and for that reason alone we as a footballing community owe you much more than an apology
  3. Let's hunt some "Billiards" Jethro
  4. Watched his game on Saturday. He got a few touches in the last third of the game but little of merit IMO. Needs another 2-3 games minimum Joel is permanently unlucky it seems. He has returned from injury around 4 weeks late to really challenge and the VFL bye is simply cream on top of his unlucky pie
  5. To use OD's terminology.... that would be corageous Has rarely played forward . Has scored 1 goal 2 behinds in his career. Back after 16 odd weeks out and didn't star on Saturday. Our only key forward... I doubt it
  6. Agree Melksham did enough to retain his spot. Can he sustain it over the next 5 plus weeks. Not sure but he's certainly performing better than his mid season inclusion
  7. Interesting discussion re the premiership odds I was more surprised about being red hot favourites against the Pies
  8. You only get 80k these days if the game is one for which attendance is pre-planned. The classic example is the Anzac day clash which for competing supporters is often a must book early game (FOMO). There's simply not enough time in one week to "build the book". Anything near 70k would be a great result
  9. Used to think the odds reflected the smart thinking but not anymore Apparently we are still almost equal favourite with Geelong for the flag at around $3.25
  10. Not into commenting upon the physical appearance of footballers but hell... Lobb looks like Lurch with that dyed hair
  11. Interesting At the time the experts always said to avoid the wings as it simply took too long to go that way Would it now be a different game... who knows. Stadium wars are back in the news in NSW with the State Government saying they will no longer invest in the suburban NRL grounds
  12. Must admit I thought the same... This one is owned by Woolworth's it seems
  13. were we loading in all the other games They have our game plan down pat Sure we might win but percentage wise they have proved themselves superior
  14. For those who think he has a role watch the replay 14:30 into the last quarter... so far under the ball it was amusing JVR isn't ready but................
  15. very rarely a sell out in the pre GF finals at the MCG Even though members have priority to buy tickets the substantial price sees many back off There's also the series ticket issue. If the only Melbourne PF was between Pies and another Melbourne based team a sell out might be possible
  16. Remind me How many times since 2017 have they beaten us The talk before the last game was by how much we would bury them. When we were down we always performed well against Essendon. Perhaps they have our measure.
  17. Good Post Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. This game is on the coaches
  18. If they pay half or more of his salary and you think we are in a 3-5 year window it can make sense
  19. This is a big payday for MFC. Only been two 80k plus crowds this year and both involved Collingwood A win would top it off
  20. I wonder how they will deal with the VFL bye for those who are possible AFL selections in coming weeks... Smith, Dunstan, Bedford Tomlinson, Chandler, Bowey, JVR and maybe Weid
  21. mmmmmmmmm not great
  22. Please make it happen......
  23. From the AFL game day thread "Searching for their first win since Round 21, 2014 at the MCG, Brisbane gave up a 42-point lead and were overrun by the Tigers. This came about as Brisbane's ball movement was stifled by Richmond. In the first half, Brisbane turned 34 defensive chains into 16 forward 50 entries and 6.3 (39); in the second half, 30 chains only yielded seven entries and three behinds."
  24. Should we sing the Tiger song together
  25. Should we get excited
