  1. I am sick of hearing people slag on Sylvia. Yes he isn't the most consistent but he has talent and must be a big part of our future. Get over the fact he is up and down it's never gonna change but in a better side he won't have to carry us every game.
  2. Mackay is a decent player not sure if he is worth that kind of coin. But hey I'm sure the FD know morer than me
  3. After just reading the article on Herald Sun it seems to me that we are happy to get Hogan with pick 3 as it means Viney slips to our 2nd. I would be very happy with this outcome.
  4. I don't understand why everyone on here wants to pick up Caddy or Toy? Pick 13 for Caddy? I think we could get a better players through the draft, he's had one decent game why all the interest?
  5. I think as our team plays more games together and gels better we may start to realise we do have some decent players. I think our biggest problem is a lack of trust in one another and a lack of cohesion. A champion team will beat a team of champions and once we have that unity I think we will see how good our side really is.
  6. I want to hear more about the trade rumours going around? Can anyone add to this?
  7. Good to see the team sticking it up Grant Thomas from the start of the year saying Neeld had already lost the players. What garbage that guy if full of $H!+ along with all the other journos.
  8. The best example of a team who's found success through a 'Moneyball'(i hate that term) plan is Richmond. They pciked up Grigg and Houli who are killing it for them now. That is the way to do it, go after a side who has s surplus of a certain position as they will be willing to give one up.
  9. He is a definite keeper. I really like him down back can hold his own against the bigger defenders which allows Watts/Rivers/Frawley to all run off half back. God knows we need big, strong bodies he wont be going anywhere I get the feeling Neeld likes him.
  10. My positive is my hopeful starting 22 for round 1 2013 B: Nicholson Frawley Rivers HB: Watts McDonald Grimes C: Sylvia Viney Toumpas HF: Trengove Cloke Howe F: Jurrah Clark Tapscott R: Jamar Jones Boak Int: Blease Martin Strauss Sub: Jetta
  11. The bulldogs remind me of us after we played in the finals for all those years. I can see years of pain for them and hopefully our years are going to be over.
  12. One of Bate or Dunn has to go at the moment it looks like Bate. MacDonald as poor as his skills are should stay he gives 100% which needs to rub off on the more talented younger players. And we need mature players seeing as it looks like Moloney may walk.
  13. I think we have all gotten ahead of ourselves (I'm one of these people) thinking that we would have acouple years at the bottom and rocket to the top. In hindsight I think about how major an overhaul we've had at the club and how quickly we went from the Yze,White Neitz and Co. era to a number of retirements and being left with youth or $*it. We've got a HUGE number of young players the only club having more being GWS and GC and we will be getting even more at the end of this year. The FD always spoke of sustained success and that's what they were going for. We will get there but it's going to be slower than we thought. By the time Watts is 25 we will have almost half our list between the ages of 22-25. That is a lot and I think it will set us up for years of deep finals runs and maybe that premiership we all want. But unfortunately it's taking longer than we thought.
  14. It's because Neeld wants to see how a lot of our players are on game day and how they perform. Nth Melbourne have had the same coach for 3 or 4 years he knows what is his best team and they have been working on that the last few years. I'm sure next season we will see a lot less changes per week compared to this year.
  15. That is worse than what we may have done. To openly tell a player don't kick a goal is a lot worse than making a few positional changes.
  16. I am fairly confident Brad Green has retired on his own terms. Neeld would have given him another season if he asked but I think Green wants to bow out gracefully.
  17. Listening to Neeld talk about the young players on our list he seems to have a good understanding of where they are at. I think people should stop speculating on who should be gone and just wait and see, he will keep the players he thinks have the potential to succeed.
  18. Grundy, Kennedy, Toumpas, Trengove, Tapscott we could have a team full of south australians
  19. He's playing in Division 3. I'd consider if he was close to kicking 100 in the VFL/WAFL or any serious competition.
  20. There is no way we will beat any of Saints, Freo or Adelaide. They all have way too much to play for and our injury list is growing and growing. I'm not even 100% certain we will beat GWS over there we don't travel well and with our injuries it's getting harder.
  21. I have been looking at the 3 sides at the bottom GC,GWS and us. I think GWS will win this w/e due to the high number of injuries at GC which will leave them on the same amount of wins as us. This would then set up a game between us and GWS as the one that determines who finishes 17th and 16th. With our injury list growing and the likely hood we may put a few players in the sheds for the remainder of the year we are no certainty to win that one.
  22. It doesn't matter because everyone knows the bombers will take him with the first pick. The problem with us our first pick is so low that it could possible be paying 'overs' whereas the bombers are already getting a good deal even if they finish 9th.
  23. This is good to know. Too many on here want to just trade/de list some of our young players. Some of these kids take time to really develop we can't just expect them all to come in and dominate. I've got faith that Lucas Cook will be a very strong forward for us and will play either a 2nd or 3rd tall which is what most premiership aspiring teams have.
  24. I think trying 'special deals' aren't going to work. If GC finish last and GWS second last I think our best chance is to show a lot of interest in Brodie Grundy. GWS desperately need another big ruckmen so they most likely want him. So if we make it seem we really want him then that may scare them off on nominating as it would mean Grundy slips through to us. I think the offer of pick 3 for Martin is also a possiblity, only time will tell.
  25. Bate will definetly go but I think Dunn will stay, he offers something in defence. I've always thought we have to choose one of these guys they are to similar both are too small for KP players but too big and slow for a midfield spot. But Dunn does remind me a little of Shannon Hurn at times with his thumping kicks and if he could just screw his head onto his shoulders maybe he could have a decent career down back.
