  1. Anthony Miles is a good one, I was thinking that the other day. He seems to get pushed out due to the number of high quality mids GWS has and from what I've seen is a pretty decent player may be interested in getting more game time ala Josh Kennedy at the Hawks.
  2. This point excactly. I really think it is time to forget th notion of 'our home is the MCG'. We must keep the majority of our games there but start to be smarter about who we are playing at the G and who we play elsewhere. The fact is we cannot keep losing money playing against interstate teams. Unfortunately the crowds we get can't support it.
  3. I mentioned on here the possibility of having a demon on our clash jersey instead of the red 'v' similar to the hawthorn clash jersey with the hawk. What would people think of that?
  4. Captain is just a word. I'd say Jones is already very much a leader on and off the field anyway. He probably places the responsibility to step up while Grimes is out on himself anyway.
  5. On a side note another guy we should look at is Liam Anthony. He seems to be out of favour at the Roos and he can get a TON of the ball. We need playrs who know how to find the pill.
  6. I think he could be a decent option. Fringe player in a strong midfield like Carlton's. And anyone here going on about getting stars if you can put up an example of a star we can get then please do. Otherwise guys like these are decent options to look at. Remember Grigg and Houli were also not getting muh game time at their clubs and are both doing ok at Richmond.
  7. Viney is not lost..... The guy runs hard but he is 18 and runs himself into the ground. Dumb comment
  8. True but he's been very good the last couple of weeks cut him some slack
  9. Well wtf did you expect? If you were expecting us to miraculously turn into Geelong in the way we play then you are a dreamer. I saw some very positive signs in our defence and some of our ball movement. We definitely lacked polish and lacked the extra quality needed but that will come. I don't know if you rememeber round 1 and 2 and to a lesser extent round 3 but there is definite improvement there. And also today I heard that this was the most inexperienced side Neeld has fielded. That shows me that some of these young kids are gonna be very good for this club. It's like groundhog day on here every week, we lose and then people are calling for heads and saying it's the worst performance we've seen. We are a young a poor side at the moment maybe you should understand that and instead of bagging some of the young fellas get behind them because I can definitely see effort being shown from a number of players.
  10. Those ages show us that if we keep that group together we will have success. Now that may be a premiership or it may be continuous finals series you can never tell what will happen.
  11. I agree that they need to lift the age of recruits. It's difficult though as they will then have a gulf in the years between. They have to roll it in somehow so that teams at the bottom of those seasons don't get too hurt. They would most likely have to have an age cut off that is gradually lifted, i.e. if players were born in 1994 they would have to be born before June or somrthing.
  12. Those recruiters comment are a load of crap. Yes we have struggled with some of our player development but a lot of others have flourished, i.e. McDonald, Howe and now M. Jones and Evans are looking the goods. If you have a look at the top 10 from that year some of these so called 'good developers' have also struggled. 1. Tom Scully 2. Jack Trengove 3. Dustin Martin (inconsistent) 4. Anthony Morabito (very unlucky) 5. Ben Cunnington (hasn't done much) 6. Gary Rohan (unlucky but hand;t done much before that) 7. Bra Sheppard (part of West Coast 'amazing' development and has done NOTHING) 8. John Butcher (nothing) 9. Andrew Moore (does he still play?) 10. Jake Melksham (is a so-so player) So it seems most from the top 10 are struggling. At the moment Martin would be on top but I would say Trengove isn't far behind considering he is also a co-captain.
  13. Also saw on the website we are the number one side for contested marks. That has to be a positive?
  14. I am sick of Andrew Demetrio and his constant need to change things to suit his agenda. I don't know how we can get him out of power but it needs to be done. He is single handedly ruining this great game. He makes up rules as he goes along, constantly changes the rules of the game and overall is so inconsistent with his decisions it is a joke.
  15. Not a chance the Roos would move there before us. I know we are sh*t on the field but as stated we aren't doing to badly money wise. The roos I'm pretty sure have nothing and the same with the Bulldogs (who still have less supportrs than us even after making the prelims for 4 years). We just need to get through this bad patch in our clubs history and start winning games and our membership will rise and then the microcope will be on someone else.
  16. Where do they play Ice hockey? My fiance's Canadian so I might tak her to a game. We've already got tickets to Canada vs USA in June I think it is.
  17. Just need to bring out some articles about boozing and punch ups then we can pick him up with our last pick
  18. I don't see why we shouldn't do something similar to the Hawks did. I ouldn't care less if a few players were rubed at if it meant sides started to take notice of our aggresion as a side. Coz at the moment we have zero. Besides Tapscotts bump on Zorko that was great.
  19. A lot of people on here are absolute dreamers. How the hell would we get any of Fyfe, Sloane, Dahlhaus or Shiel to the club? Unfortunately we currently don't have much to offer clubs either than a little money. We are going to be much more likely to pick up disgruntled/unrequired players from other clubs a la Dawes. I'd love to get Thomas but I doubt he will want to come to us unless we start to win a few more games. The fact is we are going to have to pick up more players like Byrnes and Rodan who can add a bit of experience until we are winning more. Another option is to look for guys like Koby Stevens who can't get a game at their current club. He's no world beater but he is tough and we need some more contested ball winners.
  20. All that tells me is that Eagles fans and the media in the West are the most disloyal in the competition. I'm from W.A. and I've never seen supporters jump ship as much as when the eagles start losing. And they have had more recent success than almost anyone. Their supporters are a joke.
  21. This is excactly right. Everyone was calling for a change and a shake up of the club. Then once it happens and it turns out to be harder than we al thought they think well this coach has to be sacked. We all wanted change so we've got to see it through.
  22. It's good hey bit of heritage. I'd like to see that emblem on our clash jersey.
  23. I dont have time to look right now but I'd say it would be fairly similar. We lost Rivers, Moloney, Green and Martin as th main four. And gained Byrnes, Rodan, Dawes and Pederson as the more experienced ins. I'd say it could actually be less than last year as Green had played over 200 games.
