Cale. Cale Morton. El Morto. I see a lot of Cale in Sellars at the moment . I have a different view of Cale now. He is a genius at hanging in there on an AFL list . Sellars got the "Cale" award from me this week. I dont expect him back in the team soon. I dont expect Cale to play for the Eagles this year either-unless their plane crashes.

Not really into importing captains or "culture". It's a slap in the face of the leaders we have. Just get a coach who has a sense of purpose and wants to make the team as efficient as possible. Going through the process and going through the motions are the same thing and lead nowhere. But they have to believe they can win. There is no belief.

I've been to that fairy park in your avatar. At the start they take your money.Then, There are about 22 fairy tales that you can take in. There is a huge garden path to be lead up. There are recorded messages at every stage. None of it makes sense but the patrons all come out basically satisfied. Someone tell Neeld this Fairy Park strategy wont work with us.

I've heard it all now . The Age has a nice picture of Sellars trying to spoil Dunn and Garland with a story about how the players literally weren't receiving the message from the coaches box due to a tech fault . I must have been a bad bastard in a past life. but this is too much .

Neeld and Craig need to go this week . The game day coaching is pathetic . Jetta Subbed? Jamar rucking all day like a slow horse? Byrnes doing nothing for the first half? Nicholson not skilled enough. B-grade coaches just ruin your football club .You don't save a cent. Balmey was better than this. Some of the players are good enough to win games of football. This guy cant pick the right ones and inspire them to give it everything . I feel sorry for our players now . It really isn't their fault that the coach has no vision or creativity . he is a slave to AFL trends and not an innovator. We will always be behind with this bunch of coaches .

Neeld should think about prolonging his career by never picking Sellar again. Get Strauss ,Blease ,Viney ,Toumpas ,Clark and Sylvia back in the team .(Grimes and Hogan next year) Why Sub out Jetta-who gives intensity at the contest? Why pick Nicholson ?(short ,loose ,fumbler) Why pick Byrnes? (short ,slow) Why not draft Dayle Garlett and take a risk?(he will now play against us for someone else) All this carp about culture . All we have is a losing culture of assistants like Neeld ,Rawlings ,Craig ,Royal and other hacks . a Winning culture is organic-ours is phony and soft .

From what I saw Daniher is a shizen kick for goal but he might be improving . The Hulk has a perfect kick and could be Johhno Brown Mark 2. If we had a midfield imagine the damage Clark ,Hogan ,Dawes and Howe up forward could do.

I think we tried the demanding wins thing too. We tried the sack the coach thing. We tried the accepting mediocrity bit too. Frawley said something interesting after Sundays game, "It's up to the players, no one else". I actually saw the penny dropping!

Certainly looks like the fittest he's ever been. Hopefully he plays on for another two years. and produces a few more boys for our future.

On topic ,the foot skills and hand skills of these guys are a liability . Other ares of their games are really good . McKenzie was good by foot ,average by hand and then had is Cale moment last week . Overall ,these guys will stay on the list based on effort ,running ,tackling and it is the job of the skills coach to teach them more disposal skills . Our best team involves Viney ,Watts and Clark who can kick . Nicholson and McKenzie both panic. Sellars is the same . But it is what it is. People can now start to see players like Strauss ,Evans, Jetta and others who can it targets. The turnovers are killing us ,the lack of uncontested possession is forcing us to work twice as hard as the other team. Guys who cant kick will find themselves at Casey once we get going . Can we get Robbie Flower to teach a skills session once a week for these guys?
