Freo are having similar problems with soft tissue injuries, Ross Lyon was discussing it the other day regarding increased training loads when he was at St Kilda and the soft tisue being a short term side affect before the bodies get used to the demands and increased workloads

Opel - our new Back of Jumper sponsor
Pennant St Dee replied to Tyson4Brownlow's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep definatley is my father owned an Opel when I was a kid in Ireland, they are the biggest selling car in Ireland and sponsored our national football team from 1986 to 2002 -
From memory it was down to Bailey & Hardwick, it's not hindsight but at the time I wanted Hardwick he played hard and from what he has shown at Richmoond he coaches the same and expects the same of his players

Everyone knew he was coming out of contract, Garry Lyon, Mark Harvey, Ross Lyon were all under Craig Kelly who knew St Kilda were finalising a final offer contract. Maybe Garry spoke to him off the record and Craig told him Ross has told me to sought something out with Saints, if the offer is not what we are looking for I'll let you know. Lyon was doing his own negotions with Freo so Craig Kelly wouldn't become aware and let Harvey know so that is where we missed out

Not meaning to sound racist in anyway but from my experiences in similar circumstances they will struggle to get quality witness depositions from those in attendance, whether that be through fear of retribution, intoxication, language barriers in being able to put into statement what they witnessed. Also need to consider if Liam was not in the AFL his defence would be left to an ALS lawyer, whilst I would consider the club has arranged a quality QC from Melbourne to act on his behalf. So whilst having no intimate knowledge of the incident I am optimistic that it may pan out well for Liam, but he is only human and I am sure it will be playing on his mind till it is finally put to bed one way or another

He IMO is the best game day coach. Not a slight on Neeld as I think he will be a good coach given time, but when you are looking for best available, we talk about missing out on players but by playing by the rules with his agent Craig Kelly and not speaking with him while he was coming out of contract at Saints, Freo took the initiative and grabbed him

The team going into the future
Pennant St Dee replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
Please have a look at Dean Cox in a Derby game around 2001 missed a gimme goal from 10metres out, it happens harsh call on one howler -
Keep your chin up old dee and if that is the case sure what better way to celebrate number 13 then having a drink with Jim and the red fox, always look at the positives mate. And WYL I agree with your post on this just need to be patient. It's like earning brownie points off the misses when you know you have a big night ahead planned out with the lads, hard yards for reward

We are not tanking FFS anyone who thinks otherwise is either trying to sell papers or has an agenda. It's round 3 and whilst Im not filled with enthusiasm of a big turn around to come it's far to early to write the season off. If in another 6 rounds we are still winless and there is absolutley no sign of improvement, then it's not tanking it's thanks we know the older brigade can not change so 1 farewell game before spending the season at Casey, and we just play the younger players so by middle to end of 2013 they know the game plan inside out.(but that in itself raises issues with salary cap for player payments of rookies and new draftees)

Crawford's comments on the Demons
Pennant St Dee replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't confuse Shane's playing up to the camera as the way he is, you don't have to be a straight A student to know football. From his articles I have read and the way he speaks when analysing games and when he is being serious he makes a lot of valid points -
Yes and for those who said we woudn't miss him, he shows how to gut run provide options and his training ethic may have flown on to others
-
FFS its a presser and they only do it because they are obliged to by the AFL, get realistic I couldn't give a bollox what is said at the presser, I think the fact there is rumours of players not being happy with being told some home truths since Neelds arrival tells you he is a straight shooter and tells the players what he thinks and that IMO is all that matters
-
So we can talk about recruiting maybe we should change the recruiting interviews and screening to look beyond talent and identify kids who will work their arses off, play hard, accountable honest footy,
-
Yep he'll get delisted and we will bemoan why he looks better at another club

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Round 3

Also need to add if Neeld knows what he wants you've given them 3 weeks now just do whatever it takes, identify on the list who is willing to do the hard yards delist and/or trade the others and go out and get those you need
-
Time for the whole playing group to have a big heart to heart session, this list is not playing to any game plan and from what I have seen the first three weeks have not been lost by game plan. The game plan will work if players are willing to run, spread & chase. It is the lack of run from the players and the lack of willing yourself to the contest to back your mate. Confidence is way down but that doesn't stop you running.

Talk about apples and oranges, they picked Masten before Morton both are not up to it, amI right to say had we not beaten Carlton in that last game, we could have had taken Kruezer or Cotchin

The Kreuzer Cup - 2007: 2 clubs on different trajectories
Pennant St Dee replied to frankie_d's topic in Melbourne Demons
Typical doom & gloom and selective memory from Demonlanders, Carlton started their rebuild 2 years before us FFS, Carlton started their rebuild in 2002, we started ours in 2008. They were hampered for 2/3 years after salary cap breaches and draft restrictions. It took them 7 years to get back in the 8. One comment tonight was of particular interest for me not sure if it was Matthews or not but the comment was along the lines of " what your seeing is a group of players around the same age reaching their potential around the same time". Something we need to consider not saying we will be a Carlton because I don't see a Murphy on our list and we definatley don't have a Judd. What it shows is when are boys get the required games, experience and pre-seasons into them there will be marked improvement -
I think Dunn got the nod over Ricky because he has the string in his bow to play a defensive forward role against Deledio, Barty to Cotchin, put someone on Dustin Martin who will make him accountable he is a gun around the middle going forward but on the rebound he doesn't work to hard heading back as he doesn't have the tank yet, who do we have to play that role Jones maybe?

I'm sure some stats guru on here can do the research, but from memory Russian didn't exactly start 2010 by setting the world on fire. So whilst he is down probably a bit early to start laying the boots in
-
He did a very good job on him last time we met, when Cotch was in good form

I think we have gathered this Ron from 1 or 2 of your posts

AFL Employee leaked info about indigenous players
Pennant St Dee replied to BarrassHarrass's topic in Melbourne Demons
WTF, why is Aaron apologising to MIFSUD if he hasn't done anything wrong, if this is just AFL spin on this all to be a misunderstanding and/or incorrect interpretations fook that. If Aaron has made no such comment don't apologise and if you didn't do not allow the AFL to report it as such. Lines in the sand
