  1. Or the better man (from the wedding singer)
  2. I love this club and wear my heart on my sleeve, no matter how hard the hits are I take for supporting the Dees nothing gives. Yes I dream of seeing the holy grail if I don't I hope my children do and have a toast to me should they see it. We have stood by our principles this week and I am in admiration for the way the club has handled the situation. I can't wait to see the boys on Saturday and my boy said to me this morning two more sleeps Daddy so we have a 40year old & a 4 year old who are proud Demons and a 6 year old Pies supporter who asked if he ca wear one of our Dees scarves on Saturday because that is his second team Go Dees!
  3. Gotzy we follow Melbourne and take a lot of interest in everything that surrounds our club, don't for 1 minute think a lot of these things don't happen at other clubs. I believe rock bottom was just prior to Jimmy taking over and suporters like ourselves getting on board with debt demolition etc. I can tell you whilst currently thinking when will this end I also am of the opinion that we will get through this and thanks to the debt demolition we are able to be in a position where we can hold our dignity and cut energy watch. I know a hell of a lot about West Coast and whilst they are in the top 4 richest clubs in the land they are a disgrace and those in the east only know the half of it. They put a premiership over the health of one of their favourite sons and look at him now, their are others from that Premiership side still fighting their own demons. To the point where their lives are almost ruined but I'll stop before speaking out of school. So whilst I disagree with you I'm not having a shot at you but feel you should not be ashamed of our club the incidents over the last couple of weeks are mostly outside our control
  4. The obvious and only move that could be made by the club, I don't care that we may lose $2 million a season it will hurt but we maintain our integrity. Talk about a rough week we've all had them in life when you think what have we done do deserve this but we move on. Hopefully now we can let the FD & Team concentrate on footy and Schwabby & the board can chase up other sponsors
  5. You people predicting 100+ are f#%ked, The boys will be relieved to get away from Melbourne and after the week we have had some team bonding, careers on the line and severely dented pride. They are a better team than us but believe we will give a better account of ourselves but will go down by anywhere between 4 to 6 goals
  6. If my memory serves me correctly when Barry HALL made the big move to Sydney he was a lot of potential and the same drums were beating about him being overpaid, but it made him, hopefully we can prove to have the same outcome
  7. Living in the west and as part of my job I have had a lot to do with Indiginous cultures, personally IMO I don't agree with clubs having IWO'S, or more to the point welfare officers would be sufficient. There are plenty of young men taken from other diverse backgrounds in the draft who need support. Why single people out my understanding is the indiginous players look out for each other from all clubs and I think thats how things should continue and it's up to the playing group to look after each other and club welfare officers to monitor everybody. In regards to racism it is a very grey area we all know the obvious do's and don'ts but there are a lot of scenarios that are very much borderline
  8. No worries Robbie just my opinion on this matter to me we are all Demons from the supporters to the players and employees, same in life really just hate the seperation as IMHO it causes divides for generations and prevents us all moving forward but thats another discussion beyond a footy board
  9. Robbie don't get me started on this why single anybody or race out they are all MFC footballers no matter colour or creed, singling people out or treating races or cultures differently is in fact racism. Everything Neeld has done since he walked through the door and the way he has gone about everything has impressed me no end. It will take time but he is exactly what we need. Time for everyone at the club from players to footy department & supporters get behind this guy. Furthermore in regard to the untruths spoken of Neeldy by Mifsud & Thomas take it all the way & if there is a rat at the club banishing them to Casey is not enough ban them from the club all together. Having said that it is a big IF as I would not put it beyond the realms of Mifsud twisiting what was originally said to him!
  10. I think the point is the players need to be effected by this, lets face it the buddy buddy nice guy coaches haven't really got us anywhere, my boss is a [censored] and we are not friends but I also understand he has to do certain things to get the job done

  12. Maybe give Bail the job on him only one I can think of off the top of my head who can run with him. From left field could we shake things up a fair bit play Howe off half back similar to Harbrow, Clarke at CHF, Martin at FF rotating with Rush, who knows need to move the magnets around the white board a fair bit do the FD during planning sessions this week
  13. Unfortunate thing old dee is the 4 year old has picked Subi as his side, which I don't mind to much(played there in my younger days not 1sts but we lived in their zone), but the 5 year old follows East Perth, so he follows the Pies & the Royals if he wasn't the spitting image of me I'd be asking the wife some questions. He turns 6 on Wednesday so hopefully he'll get a brain as a present. He is still a Dees member though
  14. In all honesty we need to stop concerning ourselves with other clubs, couldn't care about Richmond or the other 16 clubs but for the sake of reviewing their lists to see the differences 1. Richmond; Newman, Foley, Deledio, Tuck 2. North Melbourne; Harvey, Mcintosh, Petrie, Wells 3. Essendon; Watson, Mcveigh, Fletcher 4. Melbourne; and Green, Moloney, Davey 5. (arguably) West Coast. Cox, Kerr, Glass, Embley, Waters, Rosa, Selwood, Kennedy The difference to me is clearly what our kids have as setting examples to them, not to mention the likes of Archer, Rawlings, Lloyd & Cousins who have moved on recently. All these sides have players like Tuck, Embley, Selwood A, Mcveigh who don't match some of our older players for skill & talent but use their strengths and get the best out of themselves. The front running sides we had from 2000-2006 are coming back to haunt us, but I believe the young brigade we have no will take us forward and pass on the new culture to our future recruits
  15. If we have 22 players who are willing to put their body on the line and do their job you are always a chance and at least you can be admired for giving your all. West Coast have Cox, Glass & Kennedy as genuine A graders, Kerr's best days are now not as regular as they were but what they do is play to a plan. So Neeld needs to identify the 22 he can rely upon to do what he asks, so no matter who those 22 are if he does that we will not see a repeat of last years effort in Perth
  16. As many know from my posts I live in the west and hate the f%&kin Eagles more than anything in the world. In 2002 Worsfold took over a list with Jakovich, Gardiner and Cousins as their A graders. They had some promising youngsters in Kerr & Glass and honest workers in Embley, Banfield and Braun. Cox was a lanky rookie who had no tank and couldn't kick but he had heart and desire. I watched that team develop from 02-04 with Judd coming into the side to make Himself, Cousins & Kerr the up & coming midfield to take over from Brissy's fab four. We all know what that list did and how they made average players like Hansen, Lynch & Hunter look good. Whilst it's doom & gloom for many here things can change very quickly whilst it hasn't for us for a long time those we write off as being unsure of or going nowhere may surprise us
  17. I like your thinking and put enough hardnuts like Couch, Magner, Tapscott, Trengove in the team & just maybe there is room for Watts & Morton on the wing
  18. I'll be there Old Dee, red & blue through & through, it can'' be as bad as last year. I''m not expecting a win I just want to see effort and if that means playing kids so be it. Pride in the jumper is what I want my 4 year old lights up when he gets to go & see the Dees play & to meet them at training I just wish they loved the jumper the way he and I do and as much as I hate to say it the way my 5 year old loves the Pies jumper. I expect 4 changes at least, Davey of old used to burn up the turf at Subi but those days are gone and this reason may be Blease's only reprieve play him off half back, Barty has to stay in and not worrying about anything except wearing Kerr like a glove, 3 tall defenders Garland, Frawley & Sellar get the jobs on Kennedy, Lynch & Darling. Tappy & Strauss need to play to kick over the Eagles Press. Martin & Russian go tandem against Cox & Nic Nat. Petterd if fit needs to come in. So for me Davey, Rivers, Mcdonald, Blease, Green & Moloney are in the gun although I think Moloney will be safe as we really need to win the clearances By the way West Perth beat the Royals in the Perth derby after coming back from 5 goals down in the last 1/4 so my weekend wasn't totally ruined
  19. Agree totally along these lines, Neeld will work out who at this club & in the upcoming drafts/delistings from other clubs want to and are willing to follow his plans that is what will take time. I believe there will be pain and the team we see towards the latter half of the season will be very different in terms of personell & playing style as the great man would say himself "Whatever it takes"
  20. I listened to Mark Mclure sum up the Dees yesterday and it hit a nerve but it was true when I analysed what he said. We have more talent than Brisbane, we know it and Brisbane knew it but they were prepared to put in the hard work and run to support each other or provide an option. Mclure believes Neeld will continue with his plans and IHO it is the right thing to do, get rid of the older players refusing to conform and play those willing to stick to the team ethos and reap the benefits. Stan ALVES chimed in comparing the Saints under Lyon in 07 ealry on refusing to conform and he now regrets not moving the players on earlier in the season. ALVES backed it up by saying Neeld needs to act now and he thinks he will starting from this week. So for those who say we rate our list as better than they are I don't agree the problem is we rate a lot of them on talent, which they have an abundance of but f%#k me we need a lot of hard runners out there, mission can get them as fit as he likes but you have to want to run and go beyong the pain barrier. Yes it's only Round 1 but we need to make the right decisions I beleive in the talent just need to weed out those who don't conform no matter who they are.
  21. Well plenty of people in the real world lose their jobs altogether (with families to feed & bills to pay) when an employer decides to take a new direction, so to Maloney HTFU and get on with it, wasn't it he who said if your not with us then leave
  22. [censored]! what do you expect immediate culture change
  23. Can't be certain but from memory it was throat Cancer, which in itself was ironic as Sean was a clean living tetotaller himself Both will be greatly missed but we still have memories
  24. Service was what he deserved his work goes beyond the Dees, I heard this poem this morning on 6PR in Perth which is 3AW'S sister station. It was written specifically for Jim after his passing, great tribute to the man. http://www.6pr.com.au/blogs/6pr-perth-blog/jim-stynes-mick-colliss-tribute/20120327-1vvsb.html
