Good post, Nik Nat brings intensity to contests and is a very very good tap ruckman, but has no game sense. He is lucky to have the midfield around him that he does. Jack will be a good afl player he may never be great but IMO Neeld sees a lot in him which is why he is riding him so hard. Now I'm guilty like a lot here but I thought this was a Sylvia thread nw I'm talking about Watts

David Schartz on SEN at 4.20pm today
Pennant St Dee replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
I heard it and was impressed, he sounded passionate and it sounded like it came from the heart. Any player who has an issue with the words Schwarter used should have a good look in the mirror. The line I liked if there are 15 of the 42 players not putting in the effort, thats fine play em at Casey for the rest of the year or show them the door -
Make a Stand and Boycott next Sundays Game,Send a Message
Pennant St Dee replied to fired up's topic in Melbourne Demons
Silly suggestion, you only hurt the club long term, re sponsorship etc. If you want to make a statement bring a banner the TV cameras will show that -
If he can get through this first half of the season and maintain his focus, he has the balls to make something of his coaching career
-
Nail on the head and as I said in another thread, I spoke with a recently retired AFL player last night who pretty much echoed Tadhg's sentiments regarding our performance, I'm hoping it's a wake up call but with the group we have we'll hear the usual BS from the players like last year aginst Carlton and they will come out breathing fire for 15 minutes next week and that will be it
-
Yep MOA get him make him an offer hard to refuse, get in his agents ear now and tell him we want him name the price. Him, Viney & another fringe player from another list (like Kennedy from Hawks to Swans) targets for next season
-
Tadhg was commentating yesterday and he was absolutley disgusted in the application of our senior players, his exact words were that Jimmy would be turning in his grave
-
Jose can people make a comment without you trying to be authoritarian "My view is it and thats the end of it" everyone has different opinions. Letting Junior and Brad Miller go was a mistake. Junior for his on and off field leadership and Miller for his professionalism on the training track. Big deficincies were missing, whilst we have been well compensated for Scully moving on he was absolutley right if he left due to a lack of professionalism in the playing group, it is very clear now. Whatever people say about him he knows how to train and put the effort in and it's contagous I accept Neeld and Misson are trying to change this and it will take time, but those two (Miller & Junior) would have assisted in getting the message across to the playing group. At the worst we could have got another season at least out of them and kept one on as an assistant.

I have never felt this bad in 32 years of following this club and I think it was hardnut who said it I am shellshocked, may have to take some time out for a while, I'll continue to support my beloved Dees but really I am finally at a loss. So much going on in my head, I just don't get it as a proud person I can't fathom what makes our players do that, I know their confidence is at a low eb but the non negotiables come from within. I spoke with a recently retired AFL player today who's words were that he would hate to be Neeld, the players are not playing for him, he said it's not about the plan and whether you understand it, it's the fact the players are not willing to tackle, block or run. Oh and he gave special mention to Clark & Blease saying it's sad when a new player to the club and one of your young guys are the ones running, tackling and trying their hearts out Whenever I think we have hit rock bottom I am proven wrong

Juddy's groin issues where not quite OP. Aalong with the above 2 the other member of the fab 3 from 2001 Luke Hodge has never been able to realise his full potential as an on baller for sufficient game time due to his OP issues. David PARKIN says it has affected Hodges career and whilst he is a very good player the OP stopped him reaching his full potential

I'm hearing you WJ first time since Round 1 I have been confident of a win, against Saints I had a feeling of a good showing for some unknown reason. I have had similar feeling all week and think the size of the SCG will suit our contested footy and quick kick into the forward line game. I put $50 on the boys at $9 crazy maybe, Swans aren't playing great so that wiith my gut feel and the law of averages which says drought has to break some time soon. Dees by 15points

Are you serious, do you think a supporter would suggest he wouldn't want a player who runs himself into the ground. Let me explain it a bit better for you, Kerr is starting games sore his body is almost shot and it is a struggle for him to get out on the park.

Thursday May 17th - Jurrah-dgment Day
Pennant St Dee replied to Jonesy!!!'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutley with some of the sensationalism on here, some, in fact many have NFI of the legal process and none of us have any idea of the incident, despite chinese rumours -
Not oveerly confident but if Sydney want an arm wrestle they play into our hands and the small ground will suit us kicking quick into the forward line
-
Do not touch him that is my advice, I know we have a choir boy image and people think that is why we stayed away from Darling but that is not the main reason not to. Also body could break at any time the way Kerry plays. He is starting to look sore in the last couple of games and the same happened toward the end of last season. I think he will become sorer sooner into seasons in the next year or two and will struggle to get out on the track and get his best football. Cons outweigh the pros for me

Thursday May 17th - Jurrah-dgment Day
Pennant St Dee replied to Jonesy!!!'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't now about NT law, what are the new charges if they are lesser charges (non indictable) may be good behaviour, fine, suspended sentence. I don't know the intracacies of the case so can't speculate, whilst victims need to be taken into account courts need to way up public inerest of giving Jurrah a prison sentence as opposed to the other options. The matter has not been committed to trial yet, so wait and see -
Yarran wasn't great in his first year but now he has got 40 games into him and is looking the goods. We will have the run off the back half when Blease gets some more games into him and he will be a lot cheaper

Friday Night in the Stands - rough?
Pennant St Dee replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry Striker I don't care who they are or how big they are spitting to me is the lowest thing anyone can do to another, it warrants a good hiding and IMO the hiding is justified. I hope you acted appropriatley -
Pretty much what I and a lot of others have been saying for a while, our senior players have a lot to answer for, put our young guys in any other side in the Top 10 and they would all look much better We are bereft of confidence and are not as bad as we currently look, of course we are not great but much better than we are currently showing
-
But on the flip side what if we don't take Dangerfield or Boak and the number 3 /4 pick breaks his leg like Blease and never becomes the player he should, not having a go just stating it works both ways

Walls: one of the great friends of the MFC
Pennant St Dee replied to binman's topic in Melbourne Demons
Every team Walls whacked this year has performed really well in their game that week, so hopefully we will do ourselves proud tonight. I must say terrible article se;ective memory as other have said re bruise free footy and using 2010 results againt the Pies to say how well we were doing. IMO what is being done now re playing style and increased fitness levels is needed. We can't see it now but it will benefit us in the long run. I think slowly the players are also starting to realise how far off the mark re accountability and fitness we were and it is even starting to filter out in some media stories recently namely ones from Jones & Morton. This to me is fuel I will use later like any West Aussie based Dee who listened to Timmy Gossage this morning saying we are worse off now than under Bailey and we are that far behind the other 17 Teams. He forgets how bad West Coast were in 2010, when Woosha midway through the season was concentrating on working on the press and getting his players ready for 2011. We are an easy target at the moment but I recall 2010 HARDWICK being 0-9 and the worse than Fitzroy comments. Sometimes those outside the club don't know what is being done looking toward the future. NEELD said on SEN the other day "people talk about the new trends in footy I can tell you right now there will be a club currently working on the next trend in footy that in the future we will be talking about but it's actually being put into practice now on training grounds and developed" -
Hodge and Bouman out for Hawks, Gillham and someone else in they are worried about lack of height down back, Gillham will be underdone
-
If Maloney and Jamar leave we can afford Dangerfield, Caddy & Stanton

Yep Saints bombed it in long and quick last week and Kossie called them all sorts of dramas with no Gibson floating across to spoil, will be interesting to see, but then again need to win our lions share of the clearances for this
