  1. It's not an apparent trend Salmon/Van De Haar Dunstall/BreretonBuckenarra Sumich/White Kernaghan/Spalding Ablett/Brownless/Stoneham Carey/Mckernan/Longmire Lloyd/Lucas Brown/Lynch/Bradshaw Tredrea/Thurstans Hall/O'Loughlin/Davis Riewoldt/Koschitzke Mooney/Hawkins/Johnson Franklin/Roughead/Williams Cloke/Dawes/Brown I've been following this club and the game in this country for over 30 years and every Premiership side or close contender has had at least 1 power forward and 1 or 2 others who played a rolein the forward line. Meth Coast of 05/06 had such a good midfield they were the only ones without a genuine power forward, Ash Hansen was the best of a bad bunch. Floods, zones, presses will come and go but having two real power forwards will be a very good head start. Having said that We still need to be certain taking Cloke will not hamper our list going forward, but a front end loaded contract should sort that
  2. My understanding with Gumbleton is he wants to stay at the Bombers, similar to Dees support of Sam Blease while he was injured, Scott feels he owes the club. Having said that though with Joe Danniher being taken on Essendon do have an abundance of talls and may need to off load 1 or 2. I know there are the injury concerns but have been told from someone close to Scott during his last Op on his back they found a bone spur, which had been undetected that was causing the pain and he has been able to train freely once it was removed. I'd still go for Cloke but only if it didn't affect other contracts going forward, but should that fall over you could do worse than Gumbleton, saw him play colts in WA and he was outstanding, thought he would be really good at AFL level but injury curtailed him
  3. More good news within 24 hours given the season we've had. One big plus will be if webjet sign back up and we start the new season without this negativity, which the media will use against us!
  4. To the handwringers and naysayers, keep the faith Told you he was never going to leave, he and others have been challenged and those who want to see the club succeed have taken up the challenge despite the initial shock to the system. This is great news
  5. Every year the media targets a club and kicks them, Tigers in 2010, Saints last year and us this year it has been relentless but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Nate Jones, Mitch Clark Tom Mac Jack Watts Jack Grimes Jeremy Howe Sam Blease No nonsense coach at last, Decent footy department at last Changing of the guard with new on field leaders - not just leadership group (benefits of this will be seen next year) 3 first round picks in what is supposedly a superdraft
  6. Defensive Forward, Tagger, 2nd/3rd tall across half back plenty of strings in his bow for depth whilst not being a world beater there are others who should go before him
  7. Yes he was good that night I was there and with the side we had we performed well, I had a beer with Brad and a young Jonesy that night after the game and Brad was great with all the Dees fans in the Subiaco social club. Chris Fagan wanted to rush off to the Casino with the rest of the players waiting on the bus but Brad spoke with as many people as he could despite holding the rest of the boys up for their end of season drink
  8. + 1 Have been saying the same for years myself, Danners left us in a bad way and the small core he stuck with let him down often when the going got tough
  9. Seriously Bud leave it out, if your going to have a go at Miller just don't post on the thread. To Brad, 150 game player a lot to be said for that an achievment in itself, great club man who went out of his way with supporters and kids on any occassion I had dealings with him. Always welcome back at the club, best of luck to you Brad in retirement
  10. Started the season well at East Perth but has suffered a form slump the last month or so, pretty much like most of East Perth, which is good to see hate the Royals!
  11. FFS scaremongers & paranoid supporters, take it as fact he is staying ball is in our court unless we do the wrong thing which we wont
  12. Not saying he is a must keep just saying Caddy is not worth pick 13 + Martin, Martin has other trade value with Collingwood & Hawthorn looking for other ruck options
  13. and if Caddy wants out the longer trade week goes they will get pick 13 and a player, Clark came for pick 12 and is far more proven than Caddy. they can beat their chest all they want if the kid wants to come home than take what is on offer sorry you cant have Martin and really if it takes 2 players who we are going to delist anyway plus pick 13 than do that, but Suns aren't getting Martin
  14. Cheers for that wasn't certain how it worked
  15. Yep Richo still going well probably on target to kick 50 as a small forward, but in a very good side, Tigers have WAFL in the bag unless they fall into a massive hole, on the WAFL one kid worth a look at who could slip through to 40's/50's Marco Paparone decent size mid doesn't have great speed but does possess a good tank for a young in. Good footy brain and from the couple of games I've seen could be a poor mans Simon Black. Could be worth a punt if he is still there with our third round pick the kid seems to me to have great work ethic and to get the most out of himself, believe he would fit in well under Neeld
  16. Not fully sure of f/s picks , trading etc, but where do the bombers stand if they trade their first pick for Caddy does that allow them to take Danniher with their second round pick
  17. Blease will stay, my mail is he's happy with club and Neeld. If as you say he's enjoying the attention it's because it's added $50-100k to his salary. But he will be in red & blue for the next 3 years at least
  18. Really like the kid and have for a while, has hardness and desire, which makes an average player a decent asset to the team. Will get an extension fits in to what Neeld wants and don't discount him becoming a mid in the Wellingham mold with a decent pre season and injury free run behind him
  19. Are you serious, he will get 4-6 weeks off to rest and do what most do just turn the legs over to maintain some fitness, whilst also enjoying a well earned rest to freshen up for a pre season. Get a grip obviously not aware of allowing the body to recharge and shake off niggles
  20. Hate the white, we are red and blue, when I started following as a kid we wore royal blue with the red yoke, this does not clash with essendon, carlton, richmond, meth coast home, port or saints as sides wearing dark strips. If anyone at the club is reading please can our alternate strip be Royal blue jumper with red yoke, white shorts & red socks For all other games back to our traditional navy blue & red
  21. Thought you were better than getting sucked in WYL, if an idiot approached you in the street or tram leaving the footy and started talking shite professing to be an oracle of footy do you Ignore him & hope he goes away Just nod your head and think of something else or Just walk away and think no point arguing with a moron! Think along those lines
  22. Would love to have Lyon, Viney, Stinger, Woey, Farmer, Schwarter & Neiter waiting in the wings. Had we got over North in the Prelim it was ours
  23. Great servant to this club and would like to say thanks for his efforts, good luck in retirement Greeny, sorry I have another commitment and wont get to farewell you against Freo but hope to take my kids to your final training run to say goodbye
  24. Hope it's not Greeny's farewell game was hoping for a Sunday Game as I have a mates 40th that night
