  1. Wouldn't use pick 3 or 4 and not sure he'll be there at 13 so would not be against taking him if he is best available
  2. Wellingham is not a gun, he is a decent player in a midfield surrounded by stars, put him in an average midfield and he becomes Chris Heffernan, Des Headland and Brent Prismall
  3. All these below are options and we can't or wont take them all but consideration for me is on good ball users, some talls and players with decent size no more skinny kids after seeing Sydney, Adelaide, Pies, Hawks and others show the advantages when it counts in finals Andy Otten was very good for Adelaide yesterday ball use was what we need and targetting him is what Swans do by targetting a payer that is on the fringe but has good quality Chris Knights another Crow I like who has proven himself at AFL level Gumbleton - Bombers have to many talls and now they found the bone spurr as the cause of his back problems he has put games together Ben Jacobs - shown some good signs in his time at Port and if he wants to go back to Victoria good option Caddy - shown glimpses and has by all accounts a few clubs chasing him but what is he worth Draft Mids with potential body size and tanks Viney, Toumpas, O'Rourke, Wines Forwards - MD trade one of our picks to get Hogan but if not Mason Shaw good young kid fro South Fremantle good size and can take a grab, kicked 5 today in Colts GF and continually ran to present leads, Small Forwards - Dayle Garlett is highly spoken of but would not use a first round pick on him, have not seen Ben Kennedy or Tim Membrey but he will move up the order after today Recycled Players Tom Lee - good thrid tall option up forward, Mark Hutchings - finished 2nd to Kane Mitchell in the Sandover medal but uses the ball better So with that would not mind Otten, Knights, Jacobs, Toumpas, O'Rourke or Hogan MD, Membrey, Viney, Tom Lee and add another high profile recruit
  4. WTF The Hawks are STILL up, STILL this is like the we've been shite for 48 years talk must have been crazy to have changed coaches 4 times since they have been up all that time convenient memories, I thought this was about Eishold I believe some meant to say the Hawks are back up They were where we are now 7 years ago
  5. Sorry lads Im Irish and love Jimmy and his memory, but he would be the first to acknowledge we are red and blue. So for me we go back to red jumpers as an alternate or the old royal blue as our alternate
  6. Will be picked up and don't think will last to rookie draft. Good hands and will hold marks, he has been really good this year attacks the ball hard and his kicking is average to good so doesn't need to much work. He was one of the local league players used by Freo to make up numbers in their intra club scratch match earlier this year and was one of the best forwards on the ground. He will be a good pick up as a third tall
  7. Once we remain playing our games at the G Stuie it doesn't bother me that much, if anything moves the club in the right direction such as state of the art facilities I'm all for it
  8. I wasn't sold from highlight reels I had seen, but went on Sunday and saw him in the flesh and liked in fact no loved what I saw, the kid knows how to play, worked hard hit every contest hard and had a nice bit of mongrel & arrogance which was not over the Top
  9. Seen him play a bit hard honest has desire and hunger. Gets a lot of it at WAFL level due to superior fitness, under pressure turns the ball over a bit. In summing him up good for depth but only if he comes cheap.
  10. + 1, LOOK I'm computer illiterate please crash course for Dummies how do I ignore Rassilon
  11. Jay Van Berlo is a dedicated footballer but just doesn't have it, Nathan is the only one from teh family to cut it at AFL level, Mitch is playing Colts/Reserves at West Perth but IMO will even struggle to play league at WAFL level. PASS
  12. Absolutley although he is a Royals boy from the Coolbinia Bombers before he was picked up by the Saints. He came back to West Perth & Josh SMITH went to the Royals. Seen a kid playing for Swan Districts the other day first name escapes me but surname of Stevens didn't get a lot of the ball maybe 18/20 touches but every touch was quality and hit a target. Tom Lee from Claremont would be a handy pick up for someone as well. Plenty of good players at WAFL level
  13. Like Mitchell but would put Mark HUTCHINGS from West Perth in front of Blackwell on 2012 performances
  14. Red & Blue till either me or the club passes, thats all that needs to be said
  15. Just out of curiosity have you seen Martin play and I am not having a go just wondering. And not talking about TV I am talking live. I have doubts about his workrate and attitude, any doubts I had on Hogan were washed away yesterday. Spoke to someone involved with WAFL club and Doggies are into Hogan as well and will be chasing him through mini draft
  16. Since there has been talk of Wellingham I have watched him closely and whilst he is a good player who works hard, he is a small fish in a big pond. I'm thinking he would be exposed like Des Headland was when he left the Lions. Would not pay him big money, his disposal is not great and to be talking $600k, that is what the Saints have offered Goddard and Welingham certainly is not worth that. I would ask the club to be cautious here
  17. I was there today and say take him, I wasn't previously sold on giving up one of our early picks but after todays display he looked very good hada presence and a bit of arrogance. I watched Dayle Gartlett & Koby Stevens in the seniors & Garlett Did a couple of nice things, kicked a great snap that was class. Has quality but IMO lacks a high work rate and doesn't look to push himself. The Swans were able to get Jetta to lift his workrate and that may happen with Garlett, but something they need to sort out at interview Stevens Opposite to Garlett, high workrate but lacks polish, his disposal was good when he had space but butchered it a little when under pressure. Would not use a pick above the third round for him but his work ethic and intensity are positives
  18. FFS watch him play and I mean watch his attack at the ball, he is everything our previous draft c%#k ups aren't, and I think the key indicators for new targets via the draft will be Hunger Hardness Desire Work Ethic Tick all these boxes and you are coming to us
  19. I don't mind Dockers supporters, but the other mob, I am an Irish Catholic who follows Celtic and I can honestly say I hate Meth Coast more than I hate Rangers.
  20. 35 years, professionalism and many other things make your arguement about comparing generations flawed
  21. Prior to immigrating to Australai with my family and in the early to mid 90's as an adult I lived on the foot of the Dublin/Wicklow mountains in Tallaght, which is west of Rathfarnam where the great man hails from. I used to spend a lot of time running in the mountains and Sally Gap is a beautiful place and I can understand why Jimmy wished for his ashes to be scattered there. I am heading back next year for a wedding and shall take my kids to Sally Gap to pay my respects to the great man. R.I.P Jim we (the Dees) will make you proud one day
  22. Red & Blue till I die, signed up every year as are my two boys, even the Pie, who please god will come to his senses with some good performances in the future
  23. FFS how many threads are going to be started re JV, it's not that difficult he will be a Dee next year and we will use whatever pick it takes. If we want Toumpas or O'Rourke than stay away from the Mini draft another Jesse Hogan will pop up next season and if not and we still have plenty of room in the salary cap Patton and Cameron are only signed up to the end of 2013. Jack Viney at 3 if we have to does not concern me, Fyfe, Rioli, Dangerfield were not rated top 5 now look at them they would all be at least Top 3 Just take him
  24. Its good to hear, this is what Meth Coast do, I live near a few of them and see them keeping themselves in shape in the off season. Nev Jetta has a lot of heart, is naturally hard and will do whatever the coach asks, he's a keep for me Dunn is not rated by a lot of Demonlanders but he can play many roles and is required for depth. Found a niche down back in the second half of the season. I'm pretty sure they will be ahead of many others in being kept on the list
