Just reread this whilst responding to Jumbo's reply and realised I left Blease out FMD when I am talking about run he has to be in, you could take a gamble and forget Sellar as back up or unfortunatley for Terlich who was okay he may have to miss out for match ups

Watts when moved forward made a lead which looked natural and left Fletcher for dead, he dropped the mark but would put that down to confidence, once Dawes comes in Watts can play off a flank ideally but for know say Jack you've got two weeks see how it goes Who knows Run, Run, Run may not work but it's something different

Confidence is currently at a very low ebb and the game plan isn't working becuase we can't get our hands on the ball or at least with low confidence the players really don't want the ball. IMO maybe be best to revert with a run and carry style whilst our back are against the wall. Play as many running players as we can and allow for Meth Coasts big forward line by playing Chippy, Garland & Pedersen as back up ruck/defence. IMO Neeld needs to bring in runners and rotate them through the middle and get the interchange rotations up to a record amount, Bail, Viney, Trenners, Sylvia, Jones x 2, Howe, Tapscott, Kent, Evans & Jetta as many as we can fit in and rotate through the middle constantly. Mckenzie if fit goes to shut down Scott Selwood, Bail can run with Shuey. A rabbit out the hat against Meth Coast to spring surprise play on as often as we can. With Nic Nat out Cox is unable to spend as much time up forward and has been outdone in the last two outings by guys at centre bounces who have been to mobile for him. Also need to play hard guys who will give their all and attack the contest and some ball users, going to be hard to fit all the above in but desperate times boys Jetta, Frawley, Garland Pedersen, Tmac, Grimes Bail, Viney, M Jones Sylvia, Watts, Howe Tapscott, Clark, Davey Spencer, N.Jones, Mckenzie Int: from Terlich, Trengove, Kent, Evans, Joel Mac & Sellar to be considered as cover in case one of our talls goes down Toumpas maybe needs a rest

I do not want to get rid of Neeld at this stage, we are into a rebuild and have been for 12 months, changing the coach will do nothing between now and the end of the season. I say he has till round 6. His game plan - well what is it how would we know we are getting killed at the clearances and can't get our hands on the ball so it's hard to see what the game plan is when you have so little of the ball. The team is absolutley devoid of all confidence and don't want the ball, they are absolutley terrified of truning it over. Whatever way he does it this week Neeld needs to bring in runners and rotate them through the middle and get the interchange rotations up to a record amount, Bail, Viney, Trenners, Sylvia, Jones x 2, Howe, Tapscott & Jetta all need to play and rotate through the middle constantly and Mckenzie if fit goes to shut down Scott Selwood, Bail can run with Shuey. I would like to see the side taking the game on a fair bit and create some run, it may catch the Eagles off guard during the first quarter and just do enough to get the boys confidence up early. But for now we need to stick fat. If anyone needs to go it is in admin not with the footy department at this stage

I'm not a Schwab fan but please do some homework before posting such rubbish, Freo have never in their history made successive finals series 2003, 2006, 2010 & 2012 and Schwab was there for the first 2

Natanui will not play for at least another 6 weeks, Cox has been beaten by younger more agile ruckman in the first two games this year. Seems to have lost a bit of his leap and is relying on big body and muscle, where he is dangerous is up forward, another reason Gillies has to be dropped because Cox would do exactly what Bellchambers did last night. I would bring Spencer in for Jamar & Pedersen in for Gillies Just MO

When we are shite it makes me realise how much I love the club, I can't walk away if we didn't care it wouldn't hurt and the slagging we cop from other supporters would have no affect.

Listened to SEN Auskick show this morning and two kids Jacob & Connor two young Dees discussing last nights game. They were disappointed and asked if they would continue to follow the Dees, they both shot back with of course we will be there next week because you never change teams. Not sure how old they both were but from memory one was around 9 or 10. They reminded me of myself as a kid innocent and unhappy with a loss but looking forward to next week. Actually made me smile again this morning, just hope we turn around for these kids and others who may have only started following us in the last 6/7 years They were both asked if they

I hope your right Bobby with the 2000 quote, also heard somewhere tonight Essendons record defeat tonight surpassed their 1964 winning margin. We all know what happened at the end of that year. My hope is fading but it will never die

Agree there have been plenty of premiership sides & contenders with mediocre forwards but gun midfields.

Schwab has to go, he may have survived 186 but for the good of the club he has to go ASAP

DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR - ROUND 2
Pennant St Dee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6. Nate JONES 5. HOWE 4. FRAWLEY 3. DAVEY 2. TERLICH 1. GARLAND -
Olisik you just don't get it, he is a kid. Grow up

Cant sack a coach at Round 2 it wont and shouldn't happen. Could see how he was hurting tonight, he made plenty of moves but nothing worked. Lots of soul searching this week, his crack at the big gig is falling apart so he and the player group need to work it out. Not saying he will see out the season but just can't sack him after Round 2. Others in the club need to go first

Was there a lot of kids crying, if not why can't you just refer to him as the kid in the MFC polo FFS. He or another family member may read demonland. Think before you post

Wonder what PAUL ROOS is up to these days???
Pennant St Dee replied to Pata's topic in Melbourne Demons
He will not come nor will Choco or Rocket until Schwab is gone -
I hope the players watched that and see how he is hurting. As others said he made plenty of moves but a lot of the players were just shell shocked. This will take a lot to turnaround. No quick fix with this, it goes deeper than the coach and talking about experienced AFL coaches, Neil Craig needs to get greater involvement if he hasn't already

Rumour of heated argument Viney Snr & Neeld

My thoughts exactly but I just want to make sure before I bring it up next time I ring up and speak to the knobhead -
Rumour of heated argument Viney Snr & Neeld
Pennant St Dee replied to Pennant St Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes my thoughts but just surprised hadn't heard anything and everything Hagdorn reports is just a rehash of one of Caro's or Robbos articles -
Has anyone heard anything of Todd Viney and Neeld having to be separated after last weeks game. I know most of what Kim Hagdorn says is absolute crap but on 6pr this morning Peter Bell, Karl Langdon & Hagdorn were discussing Melbourne and Hagdorn interjected with the rumour that there was a heated exchange between Neeld & Melbournes head of recruiting Todd Viney and they had to be separated before it ended up being a something serious. Hagdorn said Neeld is in trouble if you are falling out of favour with a member of the clubs Team of the century and they will lose tonight, next week to the Eagles and then Round 4 against the Giants who will beat them Neeld could be sacked, He then asked who do they get to coach or who would want to coach them. As I said Hagdorn is off the mark most of the time and I am not even sure that Viney is still our head of recruiting (thought Jason Taylor was now performing this role) but Hagdorn used the name Viney after saying the clubs head of recruiting. Has anyone heard anything along these lines

I have two kids one has jumped ship to the Pies whilst the other remains loyal to the Dees, totally agree with you in the bolded part and if I don't see the 13th I hope my children and grand children get to see it and many others

Great post P-Man pain fades but memories last forever, here's hoping there is an omen in the number 87 when we also started terribly but came home to make finals for the first time in my life. My greatest Dees memory shared with my father (not a Dees man) was the Footscray game in the last round when he cheered loudly when we made it. Hope you enjoy Saturday night P-Man and may your father RIP

Said it at the time and stick by it apparently he was in the final 3 shortlist but we should have went for Hardwick. Whilst he was a first time senior coach he would not have allowed himself to be controlled.

Demons the early season stinkers - Peter Ryan
Pennant St Dee replied to Young Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Or he took them from an underperformed team under Gary AYRES to destroy us in one of his first games as coach in 2004 when we were sitting pretty in the Top 4. Took his team to consecutive prelims in 2005/06 where they went down to a very strong Meth Coast side and followed up with consecutive finals appearances where they went out to late goals kicked against them by Buddy (vs Hawks) & Jack Anthony (vs Pies)
