  1. Think we will find a lot of deal being done with Dawes/Brown & Wellingham being off loaded to ease salary cap restictions
  2. FFS How old are you have you been in the real world long, if you are in a multi million dollar business and are going to risk Pick 2 on a kid who has his heart set on playing for another club what would you do 1) You think he is the missing piece in a jigsaw so you interview him as per a normal interview of prospective draftees 2) Interview a second time because the kid comes across well as he has been in the system a while and would have been through I/V training. Now in this interview you see if he gives away anything he may know of Melbournes intentions and you would ask him what were his long term intentions The answers in the second interview would determine if Melbourne are bluffing or not, Pick 2 is a big risk for them given what's available and lots of egg on their face if they look at another Caddy situation. Recruiters have to answer to people if he turns out to be a gun they have to justify not nominating him, if he is with them and goes home after two years they have to justify why they picked him
  3. FFS think back how dominant they were with Dawes, Cloke & Brown thats the reason they will look at Lynch, Martin, Pederson and Mcintosh
  4. Brad Hardie still adamant on 6PR tonight Lynch will be coming to us, does not believe Pies can get any where near our offer. Also said despite all the hypre re Freo & Meth Coast thinks we are still in the running for Wellingham. Wellingham likes the lifestyle in Melbourne and the only reason he would leave Pies is for extra money and by going to Dees may be able to remain in Victoria and get decent cash Food for thought
  5. Demonlanders nothing on WA radio except Collingwood front runners for Lynch and Carlton next in line. The only trade being discussed during the news related to Freo announcing they will chase Danyle Pearce. Reading the thread here seems to suggest Lynch to Pies done deal, barring facebook, big footy and dart throwing journo's can any of you provide confirmation either way or are we looking at another Clark to Freo scenario Cheers
  6. Meth Coast for years have had a philosophy of not giving away trade picks, they will not give away their first pick for Wellingham!
  7. Yep hate Meth Coast but admire and respect their professionalism, will bring a lot of experience. Don't underestimate having him and Clark in the same forward line, would like to see young Membrey picked up as well
  8. If we have serious coin pretty confident we will get 1 or 2, might not be Goddard or Kennedy but there are always players who you can land with good coin. The right trade and mney will get you Gaff from Meth Coast or Rockliff from Lions. With plenty on offer an aim of targeting players from teams who are on there downward turn Del Santo, Ryan Griffen not saying these guys but target these sorts as an option
  9. Could do worse a lot of experience and pinch hitter in the ruck and lead deep to the wing where he can kick penetrating bullets to the top of the square. My mail is he will agree to terms with the blues by next week but it aint over till she sings
  10. Not sure Petterd would be to popular at Meth Coast after the incident a couple of years ago with McGinnity and the slur against Ricky's mother
  11. Really I have seen him play a lot live and he can do these things sometimes when he has time under pressure he turns the ball over a lot and his disposal efficiency is affected. He is tough and runs hard that bit is correct
  12. Not so sure about the hitting a target bit, he aint any better at this than a lot of our players, just doesn't stand out as much in a good side. He runs hard, spreads, provides options and does the team thing. But please lets not cloud our judgement on him because he is surrounded by class midfielders
  13. Really stood out in WAFL this year Swan Districts relied on him a lot,(thing WA Demon is a Swans fan) had issues with his hamstring through the season. AFL days past him by IMO
  14. I like you hope the penny drops with Gysberts but not sure but then again without being there every day do not really know teh ins and outs, pretty much why I highlighted Trenners, Grimes as I think they have the desire and will to succeed they also possess talent. Hopefully the lossess and getting kicked by all and sundry will burn deep with a lot of our boys and it will make them drawl lines in the sand and decide to get the best out of themselves. If we can do that we will see big changes
  15. Sorry Boss I need the week off, it's been a long wait and my productivity this week will be SFA
  16. I've only seen some highlights of the TAC cup game and must agree that I liked the look of Graham had a lot of Kieran Jack, Dan Hanneberry about him, also like the forward Membrey smaller version of Jack Darling these two could add a nice bit of hardness to the squad, hope the club targets a few hardnuts, Viney is one and they can be complimented by some other skilled players where we seem in the past to have targetted skilled players at junior level who lose their skills as they step up to the top level
  17. Sorry BH but it aint shadow boxing it is stating a fact, Jones was a whipping boy for many and has applied himself and been in the system since 2006 so it's taken 6 years to get to this level, but he has not just turned things around overnight, he has actually made gradual progression. Similar to Jobe Watson who was an Essendon whipping boy for a long time as well. Both have improved their fitness levels to be able to reduce the fatigue on their bodies and have the ability to run games out better. With all that comes belief and confidence. Trenners is being slagged off by many who are saying he is slow and a waste of a first round pick, Grimes has for the first time got his body right and put games together and showed a bit in the second half of the season. Both these guys have the will to succeed and like Jonesy will put the effort to get where they need to. Basically what I am saying is demonlanders should think about the players they are slagging off because development takes longer in some than others. Our list is not full of lost causes
  18. Great effort Jonesy and there were many calling for him to be traded a couple of seasons ago, let that be a lesson to all on this forum who slag off our young players at every opportunity. Some very good kids on our list and some good honest footballers, once we sort out the mix we will get there. Again great effort Jonesy it's a tribute to your dedication and efforts
  19. It will be sweet when it happens OD, I have faith I have waited 32 years and think were on the downward run to the Holy Grail now. Not saying it's around the corner but it will come
  20. Next years trip to Melbourne will be another photo opportunity to go along with the Barassi photo
  21. Had a great game today when the Sharks made their charge in the third and Mitchell went quite while Griffen had the ball on a string it was Blackwell who stood up went in for the hard ball and stemmed the run to help the Tigers consolidate
