  1. Having seen both marks again, I think the height that Jurrah reached and his prolonged hang time should see him win it. Goddard's was phenomenal, but the ride was shorter and he didn't reach the same height. I mean Jurrah leaped over Watts who is 196cm. Both great marks, and which ever one wins the nomination this week will no doubt go on to win the overall award (and the crappiest prize in the history of competitions!)
  2. The best game from a defender I've ever seen in my time supporting the club.
  3. No surprise. Been a bit of a favourite of mine for a while and I held high hopes for him. Was as brave as anyone on the field and always gave his all, but sadly lacked the talents to become a regular contributor in the side. Had one cracking season which ended when that [censored] Ben Johnson nearly broke his neck. Good luck to him. Really hope he gets his chance elsewhere. On a side note, I'm a bit worried that they've announced Bell and Miller are gone, but we are yet to hear anything about PJ, Newton, Meesen etc... they must be thinking long and hard about these guys
  4. Is it true that he hurt his hammy yesterday? I still maintain that one day he'll go mental and make some poor opposition backline his [censored], kicking 15 goals and taking 4 MOTY
  5. Well he has kicked 15 goals in about 2 weeks, so he is in the sort of form that would warrant a farewell game. We gave Byron Pickett a farewell match FFS!
  6. Miller has played to the best of his ability and been a leader around the club for many years. He deserves a farewell game and our respect.
  7. We've talked about this "hoodoo" so much, that I think the players have actually started to believe it We play like poo over there, but we still made significant inroads this season when it comes to interstate travel, and a win at AAMI will no doubt come around shortly. Yesterday was very disappointing, but it has nothing to do with where the game was played. Missing easy shots on goal and easy targets by foot is costly no matter what ground you play on.
  8. The point is not how much you care about the outcome, but the fact that every game matters and we shouldn't take the negatives from today lightly just because our season is over next week.
  9. Do whatever you like, but don't tell other supporters that it doesn't matter how we performed because you happened to not care. Just because you're over this season, doesn't mean the rest of us, or indeed the club, should be. I hope that Melbourne-based fans don't feel the same as you and we get 20,000 people to next week's game now. Junior deserves a better send off than that, and for those of us who have been there every week, we deserve a better end to the season than the slop we displayed today. Finishing the season off well is going to give us an important launching position for next year.
  10. It's just a [censored] attitude for supporters to have. And when you say that we were always going to lose that game, is a load of horseshit. We had every right to go over there and win.
  11. Agreed, what a poor attitude to have towards a game. Every game is important, especially when you're developing a young side, and the players should be made accountable for putting in such a pathetic performance at AAMI Stadium yet again. I just don't buy the whole "who cares it's Round 21" thing. We care because we are better than what we showed today, and because when we play we should play to the best of our ability, and expect the best from our players, regardless of what round it is.
  12. I'm a big Garland fan, but he got smashed today. Frawley did a much better defensive job and his disposals were much cleaner. Moloney was terrible too. Maybe he struggled after 4 weeks out, but he had no influence on the game, which is disappointing for a leader. I thought that out of everyone in the leadership group, Bruce and Rivers were the two who stood out, but the more I think about it the more NQR next year's leader is going to be. If Grimes was just a little older, he would be the perfect candidate.
  13. 6- Bruce (his best game of the year, credit for actually leading from the front) 5- Jurrah (freak) 4- Scully 3- McKenzie 2- Rivers 1- Junior
  14. Don't make me laugh. What sort of young team goes out and tries to lose to prove a point about a player retiring?!
  15. And this is what you get when you play Newton, who is clearly not up to it. You end up risking one of your brightest young stars in one of the riskiest positions on the ground. If this isn't the end for Newton, I don't know what is. Having said that, he isn't alone in his efforts today. So many poor games today, especially our midfield. Definitely the worst midfield performance of the year.
  16. It never began. We tried, he failed. Time to move on. This is hands down the most disappointing game of the season. Have we won a single clearance this quarter? Where is Moloney? And both Garland and Warnock are getting smashed. Warnock especially, although I am more worried about Garland losing the plot, because Warnock is not part of our future.
  17. What a disgusting way to send off our captain in his 250th game. We should be ashamed of our efforts. We've had such a good season and we're just throwing it all away with this effort. Truly pathetic, and we will never ever be any good until we learn to win interstate.
  18. Garland has to get off Gray. Put Frawley on him right now.
  19. Scully is a gun. My god he is going to be amazing! Apart from that, this quarter makes me want to burn my eyeballs with chlorine. Horrible horrible decision making and use of the ball, which is pretty much the same old story every time we get on a plane and land in Adelaide. We started like a house on fire, and kicking at goal cost us a very healthy lead. We are in general playing much better than the scoreboard reflects, and are getting enough of the ball and enough inside 50 entries, but we cannot make the most of our opportunities. 10 points is a nothing lead, and we are absolutely in this game. P.S.- really good to see Watts take the big hit. Now he just needs to GO FOR GOAL!
  20. WHEN IN RANGE, KICK THE F'ING GOAL!!!!! WTF
  21. Sickening effort this quarter. Sick and tired of this AAMI Stadium [censored]!
  22. Some inexcusable turnovers, and horrendous attempts at goal kicking. Will we ever get over our fear of AAMI? Bruce on his own doing what he wants and that goal from Watts was pure class. Hope his ankle is OK.
  23. Seriously, he is a star. Well spoken, mature, intelligent, and a gun footballer. Give the captaincy to Greeny until retirement then off to Grimesy to lead us to a premiership
  24. Am sick and tired of losing games in the cease pool that is AAMI Stadium. Sucks that Sylvia is out, but at least Beamer is back and we've still got the run and carry from Bail. Time for a win.
