  1. What a disgrace the Brisbane Football Club has become, if this is true. They've made a meal of their trading and now they are trying to get out of their legal obligations by placing untrue accusations on a guy. I mean Fevola may be an idiot, but FFS he has a family, and kids, and doesn't deserve to be wrongly accused of sexual misconduct. Shocking behaviour from a professional organisation.
  2. To me, Jim is superhuman, but to see him break down in front of all those kids from Reach, made him just human. And it is this human quality that makes a phenomenal being. Can't wait to see him hold up our next premiership cup.
  3. A bit of a dud. I think we should package him with Jamar and trade him to Essendon for Alwyn Davey. On a more serious note (in case anyone feels like taking the above seriously), I love the story from Round 5, where Chip lined up on Jonathan Brown, and Brown turned to him and said "who the f' are you?". I don't think anyone who has played on Chip is ever going to turn around and say that to him ever again, Brown included. Well on his way to becoming a genuine star of the competition.
  4. The other issue with barracking for St Kilda next week is Stephen Milne. So help me god I will never support that thing to win a flag. I hope for a small miracle tomorrow that sees the Dogs making the GF. They'll get smashed but at least I'll have a clear cut favourite to support. Otherwise next week will be worse than the Sydney-WC years where I honestly yawned the entire time. I will say this though, every year it gets harder and harder watching finals. You keep thinking when will it be us, when will we be a real chance. Sure we made it 10 years ago, but we were never a chance. I want to go into a GF as raging favourites, I want to enjoy big preliminary final wins. This whole month just sucks without us!
  5. It's honestly my worst nightmare, a Collingwood- St Kilda grand final. The only thing worse is a Carlton- Hawthorn grand final. Somebody please please take my eyes out... this is just horrendous. Edit: SOMEBODY BUY GARY ABLETT A HOUSE IN MELBOURNE AND PIA MILLER. NOW!
  6. Sylvia for top votes by a Melbourne player. When he's on, he is eye catching.
  7. If you take anything from this, it's that there is no f'ing justice in the world. This man, who has done so much good, helped thousands of kids and resurrected our footy club, is going to die well before his time, in terrible circumstances. I hope and pray that he lives long enough to see us win a flag. He deserves that much, surely!
  8. I predict that next year we'll reach our 1000th Jack Watts thread on Demonland. Exciting times ahead!
  9. Always hated him. He'll fit nicely with the other sellouts at The Suns.
  10. But I thought GC bought Watts a house...
  11. This is one of, if not the most important thing for our future and long term viability. Get kids supporting us now and we're guaranteed a large membership and supporter base for years to come. I think the likes of Davey, Aussie and especially Jurrah will really catch the eye of young kids, while the likes of Scully, Trengove and Frawley will probably draw slightly older kids who are interested in footy but don't have a team to follow. Of course exposure and good form is also going to help hugely.
  12. LOL @ Roughead being a spud. I'd happily take this spud if Hawthorn wanted to get rid of him... which they don't/won't/never will It's important that we don't lose sight of our need for a big, stay at home forward, and our need to keep getting the absolute best available talent on our list. If we start compromising talent for need, we'll be in big trouble. We've tried it before with Luke Molan, Nick Smith, Ben Holland, Craig Ellis and every one of those experiments failed. It would be great to find a young developing tall at another club who wants out, or a club with a surplus of talls who is seeking a trade or a pick upgrade, but in reality I can't see that happening for at least a year or two. One because we don't have much value to give other clubs (pick 12 in a compromised draft and fringe players), and two, because we're not yet in a position to seriously challenge for a flag.
  13. They showed 2 minutes of the documentary and I was bowling, especially when his wife Sam said she knows he's going to die. Terrible, heartbreaking stuff!
  14. Got a standard 2 year contract when drafted, so still has a year to go. I'm sure they'll get him to sign an extension soon, but clearly those out of contract take first priority.
  15. Great result for the club. Watts on a 3 year, front-loaded deal no doubt, makes it easier for when we have to resign the likes of Jurrah/Scully/Trengove etc...
  16. To be fair, Y_M made the same prediction B)
  17. Guys, we finished the season on 8.5 wins and still managed to get 2 players into the team. That's a pretty great effort. So so happy for both Chip and Jamar. For Jamar because he has worked incredibly hard for 9 years to get that level of improvement out of himself, and Chip because he is a star and it's great that he is getting AFL-wide recognition for his efforts. And congrats to LJ too. Doubt this will be his last MOTY/GOTY award (or Chip's only AA selection mind you). Onwards and upwards in 2011!
  18. The Dogs took a chance on Hall and it came off. Richmond likewise with Cousins (although at the complete wrong time). When all is said and done, Fev is still one hell of a footballer. They were obviously hoping they could control his behaviour off the field, but they failed. The other trades were of minimal cost really, so it is either here nor there. Only the Fev trade cost them big and also meant they lost Bradshaw as an indirect result. But as I said, had Fev stayed injury free and drama free, it probably would have been a win for them.
  19. A sooking drama queen. Not even attending the B&F? Already packed his bags? WTF?! If it wasn't for Freo taking a chance on him and resurrecting his career, he'd have forcibly retired years ago. Other clubs are welcomed to him and his baggage.
  20. It wasn't long ago and that you and others were here arguing that Voss did the right thing, going for one last roll of the dice while he still had Black, Brown and Power. The gamble failed, but IMO they wouldn't have been much better off this season had they not made any trades. Their immediate future will of course suffer as a result, but at least the disasterous result this season will provide them with a relatively good draft pick. Is Voss screwed? I highly doubt it, because his board would have obviously backed his decision to go all out this season and risk future list development. Had it come off, he would have been a genius, but with no risk there is no reward. If Fevola could keep his dick in his pants, and they didn't suffer so many injuries throughout the year, they probably could have scraped into the finals.
  21. It's definitely still there. I wonder who else is meeting him and in what context. Would be kinda weird if the club said to Ricky, "young man, go stalk Jack Viney, buy him a kids meal at Maccas and bring him to us".
  22. Interesting Tweet from Ricky just now...
  23. Cousins was on the drugs at 17, before he even got drafted. WTF are the parallels here??
  24. Yeah but his problem is that he's 192cm. It all just falls apart at that point really.
