The Club's Intentions - Trade/Draft
Jaded No More replied to Hells Gates's topic in Melbourne Demons
For crying out lout Hardnut, I have no issues with you speaking out against Neeld, it's your opinion. But this thread is the most informative, least infuriating thing on Demonland right now. If you wanna question it, do it in your head, don't ruin a perfectly good discussion. HG has had very good information before, and is a hell of a lot more credible than 99.9% of the bozos who post here (you and I included). Don't take a dump on its head please! -
Hahaha, I would literally laugh myself all the way into a mental asylum and give the game up for good if we lost Frawley. Don't we have a gazillion dollar we can pack into a brown paper bag next year for him when he's out of contract? FML, Melbourne supporters should be the poster children for Beyond Blue.

I am so very truly sorry for you that you chose Melbourne. But, no refunds!

The Club's Intentions - Trade/Draft
Jaded No More replied to Hells Gates's topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly It's so easy to get rid of players, it's replacing them that counts. If we get a whole lot more Magners next season I'll spew (no offense to Magner). No point winning a few more games next year, I want to win a premiership and you don't win those with mature second-tier mids. -

Thanks for that, all sounds very reasonable. Would love to get Ratten back. I was always a fan, and was personally told by players that he was an awesome midfield coach when he was at Melbourne. And lets hope that our Scully replacement comes with not just better disposal, but also better moral judgement and without a fat father. -
And another one bites the dust - Cook
Jaded No More replied to Demon Disciple's topic in Melbourne Demons
If other clubs are interested in Cook, they obviously see something in him and back themselves to develop him. I'm not saying he'll end up a great player, but Neeld came in last year and insisted on keeping Bate, obviously backing himself to develop him into something worthwhile. Neeld was wrong, but kudos to him for at least trying. I worry that he sees no redeeming feature in a pick 12 who has been in the system for just 2 years. We've given bigger duds more of a go. Oh and Mitch Thorp didn't fail to develop, he was a [censored] with massive off field issues. -
And another one bites the dust - Cook
Jaded No More replied to Demon Disciple's topic in Melbourne Demons
I gotta say that this is disappointing. Not only did we stuff up the draft selection, we clearly failed to develop Cook, and now it seems Neeld doesn't want to invest another year or two in this kid. I suppose if you don't have it you don't have it, but we've persisted with so many poor players who we knew were never going to make it, like Bate (who Neeld insisted on keeping), and yet we won't give Cook an extra pre-season under Mission. I have no issue with the clean out, but to get rid of kids like Cook and possibly Gysberts for such a low return, is not going to leave us much better off. The chances of picking a good player with the third or fourth round pick we'll get for Cook, is close to zero. -
Good on Beamer for his dignified "thanks for the memories" tweet. He seems content about his decision, and so does the club. It's as good a divorce as you can hope for I think. Moloney will get an opportunity to continue to play his own way at a club where he isn't the number 1, 2 or even 3rd best midfielder, and we get to clean the list of people who don't 'fit in'. Just hope we replace all these departures with something better, not third grade VFL battlers.

I still don't know why Clark came... but he did.... and he is god. Nothing is impossible. Cash whores for the win!

Brent Moloney maybe says hi, I guess it depends who cheated on who first.

Hey, it's Tuesday afternoon and so far no reports of nudity, exposure, assault, rape, gang bangs, public urination or property damage. This is probably our most successful period in a long time. Well done everybody!

What a sad ending. I'm not sorry to see him go, because no matter how [censored] or unhappy he was, that is no excuse to play like he did this year and not put in for your teammates. It's a pissweak excuse. Jared Rivers and Brad Green got dropped out of the leadership group too, and neither spent this year sulking like a little girl and playing such selfish football. I am far from a Neeld fan, in fact, I am very very suspicious of his overall methods and his ability to succeed long term, but on this I justify his position. Moloney is a bully on the field, he is selfish, he plays on his own terms, and he is 29 next year. He won't be around to win a flag, and he won't help develop our other players to win one either. I wish him all the very best in the future and hold no hard feelings. While he wanted to be at the club, he did a good job on and off the field for the most part. But as soon as things didn't go according to his plan, he lost his sh*t and that sort of toxic behaviour helps nobody, especially his own form.

*vomit* Port Adelaide in before Melbourne. Can't wait to see him play for another club. It'll be awesome!
-
There is no point arguing about this. You may have written him off, but I haven't. If he goes to another club and dominates, it will kill me a little more each time he plays. Just another "could have been" for our club. Depressing stuff.
-
Like I said, it would be a sad day if he quit footy, but it wouldn't shock me. But he didn't quit footy, he quit our club. I mean how much more sh*t can we cop? FFS, we have about 4 good players on our list, one has a serious injury to come back from, and the other just quit and will probably pop up at another club without us getting anything in return.
-
You must be, because all I feel is dread that he'll tear it apart at Adelaide or Port next year, while we continue to rot at the bottom of the ladder with our mostly talentless list, and our lack of forwards. Friggin horray! Edit: if he was walking away from footy, I'd say "fair enough". It's been a tough road for him, and he's in for a whole lot more pain. But to walk away from our club, after everything we have done for him, is just too hard to swallow.
-
Just when you think you've been kicked enough times, something else comes along. This is just about the biggest kick in the guts I could ever imagine. Never thought I could feel so low about footy and this club, but there is just no hope left, no light at the end of the tunnel, just nothing. We pluck this guy out from nowhere, we support him, we set him up, and he gets into trouble and spits in our faces. I can't judge him, I simply can't, but FFS this just kills. Football just cannot get more painful.

Paul Roos said he'd be available to coach again in 2014 when his son finishes school. If we don't pursue that sh*t, we're fools. Just saying.
-
I love this club, but I hate this team. They managed to get pulverized by a team that would have been better off losing, on my friggin birthday. They are like the Grinch that stole Christmas... every weekend! So yes, I love this club, but this team... nope, sorry.

Training under the Bailey era
Jaded No More replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
He went for a swim in his piles of dirty [censored] cash. -
A sad ending if true, for someone who was traded to the club he adored as a child, took on a leadership role and flourished in a midfield role last year. Can't help but feel that most of this is his doing. Of course it takes two to tango, but if his attitude was right, I don't think his decline in output would have bothered Neeld so much that he would dump him from the leadership group and not even give him a farewell game of sorts. If Beamer does end up leaving, I wish him all the very best at another club, but I hope he has learnt his lesson. Don't [censored] where you eat. Sometimes change is hard, but headbutting it only makes it harder, and gives you a sore head.

I'm pretty certain that I am emotionally, physically and spiritually in love with Mitch Clark. He is the bestest thing to have happened to our club in a shitload of time. Just please please please let his foot heal properly!
