I found the Scarlett interview fascinating, given our current predicament vis à vis theirs at that time. The big question is - do our boys care enough? Do they HURT enough? The Cats did, but really do ours? Be honest. Do they really HURT? Some looked like it Saturday post match, but...............????????? Talk is fine, but only if it translates into ACTION.TIME IS ON THE WING, GUYS: IT CANNOT GO ON LIKE THIS FOR LONG ALL BEFORE IT BECOMES TERMINAL. DO YOU CARE?? REALLY REALLY CARE?

David Schwarz for MFC President? [MERGED]
monoccular replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would love TheOx to be heavily involved in some high profile capacity at the club, but President and Board are roles that need smart business people: one with a big footy background as President and who is a good public speaker is needed. I like the suggestions of Loencelli or Grag Healey should they be available and interested. -
I would certainly prefer him to have any role at our club than, as been suggested, Sheedy.

How could she (appear to be) so glowing about him then, and so vile towards him over the last year or so? Is it him? Is it her?

Dee's Players at Melbourne Storm game tonight.

Lets hope that they looked very carefully at the intensity and the commitment to tackle - if that can be taken away and reproduced next week there will have to be a major lift in the outcome. -
Sack them too!

And who will be left? Can it be ALL of their fault. How about the lazy players, or those who chose to under perform because they didn't like the CEO (presuming that was / is a factor). Do you want to scrap the lot of them - staff, coaches, administrators, players, and start with a real clean slate? How about the fans too?

Surely you mean she has had a huge victory with her personal venom and invective.

Caro must be orgasmic - hopefully it will shut her up and get her off our backs. Lets hope that they pull their collective fingers out and put up a fight on Saturday (he says in hope not expectation). Hear here re Lyon. Two faced. LOL

Was the Bellraine League easier than AFL, or were the Ocean Grove players better than those at MFC, and more interested/motivated?

Finally, some attention on our biggest under performer

His brake-on seasons have been the last ten. Break out season is always going to be the next one. Lazy bugger...that is all. -
She just cannot help herself, can she?. I am sure that the GFC, climate change, the near miss asteroid and the North Korean saber rattling are all in some way linked to Schwab, at least in her perverted narrow mind.
-
Why did you come to a club that is over loaded with bone-lazy conceited overpaid softies?
-
Maybe get cloned GM kids who haven't needed mums?!
-
But I am sure that the hopeless recruiters just should have foreseen that he would have got a back injury - like they should have known Strauss and Blease, and Molan would have broken their legs and TheOx his knee.
-
Only one person can answer his growing number of critics, and that is Jack Watts himself: Neeld can't, Schwab can't, Malthouse can't, only Jack. How much does he really WANT to be a leader in a top club?? I don't mean, like just about anyone, would LIKE to be, but really, passionately WANTS to be. Mind you similar things could be said of so many at MFC notably Colin Sylvia.
-
I feel really genuinely sorry for Jack Viney and Jimmy Toumpass being dragged into this moribund club....one that seriously appears to have no idea what is going on and where it is heading. I actually paid up last week, in hope and expectation not of playing finals but at least of playing footy.....haven't seen it yet.
-
Do you mean like how we have managed to turn the club around following 186??? :-(((((
-
All the senior players - NB: Sylvia, Frawley, Jamar, Garland, Jones and Watts in particular should call the team together, like the hand bag Cats did and say "enough is enough. This is what we all demand. Hard uncompromising footy". It sure as hell turned their image and fortunes around....softies to Premiers in just a year or two. Big question is - do any of our guy really want success, or would they just like success? Show us your answers Satruday night!! PS: and frankly I am sick and tired of reading how well we have been training, and more so what a great preseason we had - please remind me how many of ?six games we won or came close in??
-
A truly fabulous debut, especially given the total lack of support by his so called teammates, showing more maturity and leadership in his first game then any of the "senior", (maybe should read senile), players. It only makes the behaviour of the "established" players more inexcusable and inept.
-
Come on FCS: the guy has an injured hamstring. Are you one of those who also said that the recruiters should have anticipated Blease, Strauss and Molan breaking their legs....hopeless, aren't they. No balls, of the crystal type that is. And they really should have known that Bail would suffer multiple concussions, the same for Daniel Bell. Surely not the same recruiters who didn't foresee TheOx suffering multiple knee injuries. Why don't we just get better recruiters?
-
Three coaches have had the same problem in getting anything out of this playing list, in its various iterations over the last decade -- do you think it could perhaps just be possible that there is a problem with the players more so than the coaches?
-
I looked at the thread title and wondered if there was training this morning, strangely enough. Was there, or couldn't the guys be bothered turning up?

On the Couch dissects first 15mins of Dee game
monoccular replied to jnrmac's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree totally - the other two were errors of judgement, but Chip's was just plain lazy, lazy, lazy, and set an awful example for the younger players: his "getting away with that" (if that what happens) says so much about what is the nature of our beloved club's malaise. There were maybe 18 lazy players on the field on Sunday and laziness, especially in round one after the shyte season and off season we have had just must not be tolerated.
