We pick a team to develop for next year and just let nature takes it's course, if we win then that's good but it's no the main concern as per vote BUT IF it comes to the crunch in round 22, it would seem a travesty to allow Carlton to take the priority picks, yet again. Would have NO issues with the club i we were to suffer a "surprising loss"...

Connolly would not bring to the MFC: - any 'winning culture' - any leadership or hardness - any Members at all. Was a pretty decent footballer, and probably a nice guy, but would be an unmitigated disaster for a club wanting to build a winning culture and Membership numbers. N O

IMO Paul has shown since he returned from injury just what he can contribute to our attacking play. For far too long was he played under the ex-coach as a defender. Running off a wing he can link defance to attack with accurate penetrating kicks to the leading forward: from the wing he can also move back for at least some of the kick-ins, again with penetration and accuracy, better than any other player on our list. Buckley could, with time, prove to be a similar type of player, but not yet. IMO it would be a very retrograde step to trade him - unless of course we were to get judd or Pavlich for him!! yes, just about everyone has a price.

Showed good awareness and looked for team mates. Not a huge impact on the game but a very sound debut.

Yet to learn how to shake a heavy tag - will do so. Not fully fit - hopefully will become so. Huge heart.

If Bruce isn't fully fit then surely now that even ND must see that the season is shot he must be retsed. If not he must be dropped to get a reality check at Sandy.

Mark (Zebra) Williams has a winning history and a winning culture, and plenty of experience. May of course not be interested, but ??????????????????????????????????? Will be interesting in view of some of the comments re ND and the Bummers just how HE performs next Friday night. I imagine he wouldn't want to look too stupid in front of prospective employers.

What concerns me is that his knee jerk reaction will be to reinstate Miller regardless of his form, and carrry on with those who will never win us a flag. FCS he even named Brown as an emergency?? No presence and sadly no view to the future. ND (and I won't blame the other selectors as I understand that he is autocratic on selection) made the all too predictable selection of Yze > Newton. Mark McLure is now saying just what I said - they just didn't look to the future. What future do we have. NONE UNDER THIS COACH. I am so disappointed for the likes of Brock and Nathan Jones - what do they have to look forward to?????? I will struggle to bring myself to watch another game this year. Very happy to watch VFL - they play with heart and leadership. I suppose ND will say something along the lines that we missed Neitz - what - one player???? What we lacked was heart and on and off field leadership.

Just looking at ND on TV - looks like a rabbit in the spotlight - unfortunately the analongy ends there as the rabbit usualy succumbs immediately, and incidentally doesn't drag down his whole "family" ie the MFC and supporters, with him. GO!!! LEAVE!!!

Not half as "distressing" as it is for those of us who have supported the club for 50+ years to see the sort of insipid pathetic "performance" that the entire club - players, selectors, and coaching staff - have given us tonight. Question for the board: "why should we turn up to watch the garbage served up by this rabble"????????? It is disheartening for those of us who truly beleived that we would make the grade 2007. We have been severaly let down by everyone at the club - coach, selectors and senior players......
