  1. I remember that awful, unbelievable day so well. "I am Melbourne"! So like Don McLean's "The Day the Music Died" just a few years earlier - gutted empty feeling. But, as many have said here, hopefully the inner Demons are now exorcised and we can return to the winning, dominating days. Back Neeld - he has a steely resolve. Get on board, or get off......no passengers allowed.
  2. Yeah .... He lost me there completely. I have never heard of fireworks practice - has anyone else?
  3. Another BOG, this one in a big one (GF) - Hawks will be after him I reckon (though I wonder if one can have too many lefties); so should we if the right pick.
  4. I laughed, and lost all interest in the article when the diving [censored] mentioned 'scrutiny on injury rates', listed I think 5 clubs but not the Bummers. Yeah, he sure looks at things from an objective non-partisan viewpoint. Just another opportunity to sink the boots in.
  5. Geishen: "I have reviewed the tapes, and every decision was absolutely correct. they had a real feel for the game, and it wasn't close enough for there to be any influence whatsoever on the result. Well done."
  6. I can vividly remember the commentary - though not sure if it was radio or TV - "he doesn't want to take the kick". Had he nailed that the Buckenarra / Jimma event would never have taken place, or at worst been totally irrelevant. . Whatever - whoever won that day was destined to be slaughtered by the Tankers the following week due to sheer exhaustion!
  7. Adelaide are goin to be a very hard team the next few years. Lots of G&D. I still weep when I think that we passed over Rioli ......... Well done Hawks Should be another cracker next Saturday. I hope that Richards gets up
  8. Now a "no genuine attempt" against a ball getter who was at the bottom of a stack = in the back!
  9. Bloody good game. Maybe the 4 quick early 3rd Q goals will be THE difference. He certainly has put together a determined team - 2 gutsy strong power forwards sure helps.
  10. Clearly instructed at half time - get the Hawks into the GF, not hat I really mind. No advantage -> Hawks goal. PS: they are running away with it now. Crows look shell shocked.
  11. One would have to say that they are instructed to facilitate a bigger crowd next week by helping Hawthorn in every way. Franklin just about throttled Rutten and was given the free for high contact. A few other 50/50s going their way.
  12. About the only throw they have paid, just now, was for a fumble then knock on. Is this Rugby of AFL?
  13. I am clearly not saying that I wouldn't take a flag - I would just love to see it again with the real jumper.
  14. As a bit of an aside but on the general topic: WTH does Adelaide need to wear a clash jumper v Hawthorn? Surely even someone as narrow minded as Dumbitriou could think there was a clash there? And next week whoever wins today, surely both sides can wear their own jumpers. I would be enormously [censored] off if we were, sorry when we do, win a GF not wearing the mighty red &blue.
  15. She was adamant that it was a knee: the control freaks in the middle referred it and she was right. As for the "touched goal" - surely there is an "on the line" camera, but it wasn't shown on TV. So, Redleg, one very correct difficult decision* and one maybe still unproven, certainly NOT two bad decisions. * and how good was it to watch the toothless army's venom after the clearly kneed point??!! But they still never seem to get any consistency on the holding the ball / incorrect disposal / throw interpretation.
  16. Marlon Brando in "Last Tango in Paris" is the last time I heard of that!
  17. For all the complaints about salary cap concessions (are they still there?) it is truly amazing what they have done. I heard ?Tadhg Kenelly talking last night about the "no [censored] policy" - if you have an ego, leave it at the door on arrival, or ship out. I too was thinking of #12&22 in particular and how they would either be transformed into stars, or disappear. They have an uncanny ability to take rejected players from other clubs and transform them. How do they do it? It must be a lot more than money.
  18. Will Cloke wear the black and white again? (unless he does something that will make him serve time)
  19. Geez - Harry O took them on, caught, but no HTB. By the way, an observation: Pies have only won one of four finals since we stole their midfield coach! So even those who deride Neeld must see at least some good from his appointment :-)
  20. Where is Joffa's jacket, because it is GAME OVER!!! They need to clean up their delivery forward and finishing, if they are to challenge the Hawks (or Crows).
  21. A relief for them to actually nail a set shot for once. Hawks will eat them if they are as unsure of themselves as they have been tonight...assuming they win. Throwing the ball is the rule again tonight. Richards shows a lot of guts.
  22. Looking really rattled at the moment. Missed a hellofalot of chances Maggots helping right now with unpaid mark in front and touched goal that very clearly wasn't.
  23. Imagine what could have happened had Alen Jackovich and James Cook had his attitude when they were injured!!
