  1. Were he a MFC player that would be interpreted, by the footy media, hungry for something to talk about during the ridiculous knee jerk per finals bye week, as "he hates the clubs and is desperate to be traded" ... so they are both looking for a trade out to the same club?? Obviously. 🙄
  2. BBP - as I understand the absurdly named round zero involves the top 8 teams from the previous year, so if that is the case we will miss out. First 3 weeks "soft games" (though never forget our 'percentage builder game v WCE this year 😮) as we will be withiout Kozzie so we will get the top 3 from this year as away games no doubt.
  3. Mr Fence. I get the impression from these, and other posts on other threads, that you don't rate Mr Petty very highly as a forward. But all these "round 1 line up" posts are really meaningless at this stage. Naming "pick 5" in the midfield for round 1 assumes both (a) we use pick 5 on a midfielder AND (b) that midfielder is deemed ready to play midfield round 1.
  4. He may think he is, but he ain’t. 😡
  5. And perhaps we need to be reminded how many years apprenticeship did MG#11, the greatest ruckman of modern times if not ever to get up to AFL standard? I know he had injury issues and I am not expecting Verrell to reach his lofty heights but talls take time
  6. Very creative of you to fit all those terms into one sentence. IF, big IF, the AFL did believe in any concept of fairness, they could never allow Michael Christian to adjudicate anything involving Collingwood, ever. He is so clearly biased, or maybe just plain dumb, or both. Only a disgraceful organization would allow this to continue.
  7. On season 1 of 3 one couldn’t argue against that. Glass ⅔ full or ⅓ empty???
  8. As one of my primary school teachers used to say "res non verba". Tracc has a massive opportunity to show what he is made of and lead us on to another flag. ".... oh, but they were so desperately unlucky to only draw with Essendon. If they won that they would be in the 8", without saying how many close ones they won and how many close ones we lost. Redemption for Tracc would include Brownlow, Premiership, Norm Smith and Coleman. Is he up to it?
  9. https://babylonbee.com/news/mans-therapist-suggests-he-may-just-have-an-abusive-relationship-with-his-favorite-sports-team note mention of demons near the end of the post.
  10. As long as it remains the spirit and not the curse 🙄
  11. Just about the post of the season - or at least on this massive thread.
  12. The challenge is on. Are all involved with the club up to it? Time will tell. My MFCSS has very slightly eased. And never forget that we will be getting an extra 5 weeks preseason over the grand finalists.
  13. Should anyone with a ruptured spleen be doing such spectacular backflipping?? No. Now they can turn their focus onto the terribly disgruntled, desperately homesick Kozzie I would love to see his recipe for humble pie 🥧
  14. How many games have ANW and Howes played? Both in first season on field and have showed glimpses. Another preseason and we would expect more to show, but very few burst straight in and stay in like McVee.
  15. Your opinion, not mine. Question remains though - will he remain injury free for a pre season then a full season?
  16. If he had a grade 5 injury the spleen would have been removed. It wasn’t, so it could be a 4 or even a 3. So, where did you get the idea, or information, that he had a grade 5 injury, as a fact in your words?? Serious question. In this interview he had said that he was inundated with messages and unanswered call, including from Kate. Has he changed his tune, or is it media and management spin?
  17. Free agent = free.
  18. and is now trashing it
  19. "operating table" is where an operation is undertaken. To my (somewhat informed) knowledge he did NOT have an operation (other than his appendix, later) but had an angiogram and embolisation of his bleeding spleen which Is performed, in consultation with his surgeon, by a radiologist. This is a fairly major procedure, but it is not an operation in the sense that the abdomen is not opened or violated in any way. Reminds me of the 1965 what would now be a meme that was made after RDB's departure. "Ron Barassi has a job at a brewery - makes Melbourne Bitter and Carlton United".
  20. I guess in reality we lost BBB a while ago, and haven't lost Schache because we haven't actually used him. Tommo moving on will definitely leave a tall defence depth gap, especially as we now seem to have 'locked in' (as much as anyone is locked in) Disco and Petty as forwards. See who we draft, and possibly trade in for needs. It will be an interesting off season and preseason. Luker may well fill a need, as a developing tall - I hope all here remember that calls take time, and this will be his first preseason at AFL intensity.
  21. I have previously been totally agnostic to these board discussions, but as another poster mentioned in the Tomlinson thread, IF, IF, IF she actually said to a gathering “…At aNSWDemons event some 2 years ago, where Roffey was a guest speaker, she stated that “you don’t win finals with players like Tomlinson, he won’t be picked”. then she needs to walk tomorrow. Divisive, unsupportive of players, and sticking her nose into footy matters when she can’t find us a home, which was her selling point. Like Kamala Harris, who was given one job, securing the Mexico border, Roffey was given one job, finding us a home. FAIL FAIL FAIL.
  22. Unfortunately we have zero say in a free agent.
  23. Did our “defence expert” raise the issue that Moore played on for a while without having a concussion assessment?? If this occurred will Collingwood be sent a ‘please explain’? Did he ask if Moore, allegedly concussed, was reported as having beers with team mates in the days after the alleged concussion which is at odds with accepted concussion management if not mandatory requirements? Did the “impartial” tribunal chairman consider these issues? Or was this all preordained? Big club “victim” of an “also ran club” player? The head is sacrosanct except when it isn’t.
  24. If that is true she should get on her bike and leave, now, without a gold watch. Absolutely appalling to speak like that about any player to any gathering, even if you do think that. Keep your nose out of football matters, and just get your one job done, finding us a home. That is truly one of the most upsetting posts I have read. 😡😡😡😡
  25. If we had kept Bedford we would probably have lost / giver up Chandler, who IMO has been a very important pressure small forward for us. And bear in mind, Melksham has only had half a season of crash and bash in 2024, which may start him a bit ahead of the game at the start of 2025
