  1. Surely Kolt, and Sestan, both big bodied but inexperienced, would both contribute more than Billings and Laurie, and we definitely need a big strong body to replace Petracca. Even Luker Kentfield would probably outdo poor Petty who is just totally devoid of confidence - I know he won't get a debut probably this season but that is how low impact or tall forwards (JVR excepted) are at the moment. Fullarton, if he is ever going to be selected, must replace Petty and or Turner next round.
  2. This disgraceful excuse for a support competition - no. Another bye. A blight on player development.
  3. More scoring shots but a sad loss. Not just conversion but entries and set up. 4 posters doesn’t help. Skills in disposal a long way off.
  4. Also on the players.
  5. Havent seen him in person but already looks "bulked up" - high performance managers should turn him into a monster. Already has swagger and mongrel.
  6. I suspect that it is - but, sounding trite, they must move on, for all their sakes, especially Gus' or nothing will be gained and they will just stare into an abyss like the supporter base is doing.
  7. Yes, in retrospect Yze may be a huge out, but remember many here lauded McQualter as the second coming of Christ. I am not quite sure of his role. The fact that such a scandal went unreported and unremarked is an indictment on the people that run ruin the game. Spelling corrected Hopefully not as the back up sub 😠 wrong Windsor, Dee Of course that is what he would have done in his day, before MRP and video reports - an absolute thug Laurie? Billings? Does it make much difference? Goody is not THE selection panel though I am sure he has a huge say. And the Laurie as sub wasn't quite as bad as the Schache sub unused even when Petty (tor was it TMc) was limping throughout the last quarter Petty is playing because we need a key big forward and Goody is stubborn simple as that Word choice correction
  8. Not in any way trying to compare Verrall with Max, but Will is just 20 yo. Max didn't establish himself until he was around 22 or 23 as I recall, so Will does have a bit of time on his hands. If he could become a "fairly good ruckman", even half a Max, by 25 that would be an achievement. (I haven't seen him play but just wondering if it is good to write him off - if that is what you are meaning or perhaps not - at this early stage in his career?
  9. Can this be done on a MacBook Air? If not can someone please post a précis?
  10. Would a forward forward coach be of use to him (and us all)???
  11. Yea. Sounds strange. Battering a frail old man around in the ruck when there are two able bodied youngsters is just weird.
  12. Has anyone been dragged at ¾ time to suggest they may be emergency tomorrow, or are there three missing out on a run just in case?
  13. Can awareness be taught? On the backup for the seniors?
  14. Which would be an unmitigated disaster for all concerned.
  15. Re: Verrell discussion. Nobody at all could step up so we have to hope that Max stays fit and healthy. But serious question - who could we even try for 70-80% ruck time? I have no idea.
  16. Shades of Nick Saunter when we were aligned with Sandringham. I notice, for what it is ever worth, that Kentfield is named in a back pocket! Learning defensive skills or a ruse?
  17. Thanks once again WCW for your generous offerings. I wonder if that means that none of these will be at Casey with multiple hold over emergencies? And, of course, yet another bloody bye next week so some poor buggers will not get a gig for 3 weeks or so. Not good enough this as a "support" or "development" competition. WCW - can you recall seeing any of last week's team (other than Hunter) NOT there? Did any of the apparent extras seem to dash for a car to head to Casey?

    ... and a forward coach??
  19. In terms of debuting too early I can't remember that really since Jack Watts. Tholstrup in the first Q in his debut showed loads of energy, more than most that night, though didn't keep it up. He was far from worst and IMVHO was stiff to be dropped from a poor team performance, especially as (it is said) Goody doesn't usually drop after one game.

I hadn't watched the game, but went to Kayo when I read this. Grappling each other which happens every day. In fact King almost put Andrew down before the free was paid.

Optimist - we can beat everyone. Pessimist (MFCSS included) - everyone can beat us 🍷 - half full or half empty???
  22. There. Corrected.

So is it “no Reid, no Eagles”? Maybe we can scoop both Reid and Larkey with some clever trading 🤔🙄🤗

binman - I haven’t watched any games this weekend but looked at the current scores and thought exactly the same as you predicted. Bizarre. Do different clubs load differently ??🤔🤔🤗
  25. Certainly not anything like to skinny kids we picked 10-15 years ago. In fact looks strong and muscular. And speaks in a mature manner. We definitely could be on to something here. Does anyone have any information regarding his tank at this stage? I wonder if he could even step up if needed late this season? Looks physically almost ready.
