Tom Fullarton - back up ruck?
Depends on how one actually defines ego. I am sure every successful AFL player has enormous self belief and thinks that they are the or among the best in their rôle. In some it transfers to arrogance which does not appear to be the case in Max. Self esteem vs self importance.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Essendon
What a precious little twerp - don’t like him and he doesn’t like us, clearly. I asked about the pressure acts in the podcast thread, as I thought that Petty was playing a rôle. Ethan. Brilliant stuff. Thanks. Made my day reading that Beautiful to see - though of course some of the negative Nellies would say that Clarry was sucking up to the coach and that is the only reason he gats a game 🙄🙄🙄😧 The Kozzie 50 was ostensibly after a 5 meter kick was paid a mark, whistle not heard, and not called to stand. Poor umpiring that whole episode.

Disco Turner’s New Deal
^^ It may depend on how Jefferson develops, maybe Adams or other movements such as Petty moving on, TMc re-signing etc. IMVHO he would be good in defence or attack, or a swingman depending on needs. (Would prefer he were a forward) I will join your rant, titan. Let him stay at 42. BBB kept 50 and went ok when he was physically up to it: on the other hand Liam Jurrah was only half the player when he moved from 48 to 24.

My 3 word player analysis V Essendon
Why in the world would AMW need a “rest”? He ain’t Joe Biden 😴 Thanks Mel. These pressure acts are mostly unseen by the fans at the ground - many of whom still want “kick it long” - but are incredibly important in the structure of the team. Looking forward to binman’s stats analysis tonight.

Are we witnessing a re-build by stealth
Not a lot of integrity in dragging a case like this on for nearly a year, while the player misses a year and is a year older IF he is found not to have a case to answer. Has it in fact been prejudged?? ...allegedly. Why should it take so long? What an absolute joke of an article - as pointed out by another, the standard of journalism in general and sports journalism in this case is just so poor.

Sounds like a bad trade then. Such is life. Who? Depends of the role assigned to Sparrow I guess.

Those who suggest he is being rested as a prelude to a debut next week - are you serious? A week away and needs another showing of his wares. So what does he have, other than a contract? Not all ruck-work is tapping - around the ground possessions and contests are just as important.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Essendon
I am genuinely worried that JVR will get burned out as an exciting KPF by being required to take the burden of the ruck work. MEMO to FullArton, Verrell - Sunday is your opportunity to earn a trip to Perth to debut. Grasp it if you like?? @@ and ?3 really tried there best in Q4. Can someone access their SportsBet accounts. Who? It is getting boring, but less those mentioned above NB Verrall FullArton get on their bikes Sunday what is the option? Probably won't but who can come up. I don't want JVR ruined s an important forward by needing to carry the main burden of ruck work.

Goody is a genius!!!
PaulRB - I have been waiting to see the MQualter influence mentioned as I have not observed him in previous years and don't quite know what he offers as a point of difference. Can you please elaborate for my education. Many thanks

Goody is a genius!!!
Something clicked tonight after a disturbing start. But we simple cannot afford to sacrifice JVR's continuing development as a key forward to be dissipated by him having to take first ruck duties. We are down a key forward as a result. Unless FullArton, Verrall or 😮 even Schache stand up and demand selection JVR risks injury and form decline as a vital tall forward, which would be disastrous for our club going forward. He is our future as a KPF, with limited Ruch duties, NOT as a first ruck.

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Fremantle
He tried as hard as he could. There must be stats hidden somewhere as to which maggots give frees to and against every team. #22, and the other pretty boy #2? always screw us. JVR didn't get a chance to be a forward tonight. Thank goodness that Turner and Frittata turned it on. As you say I am not sure if we can sacrifice JVR as a forward option again. FullArton has a golden opportunity tomorrow to stake a claimer even Verrall, though Scache has surely played his last game (as an unused sub last September). vide supra

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Essendon
Just got home after a great fighting win against 24 opponents - umpire 22 and that pretty boy ?2 tried their hardest in the final Q though in fairness pretty boy gave us 2 late frees. Very excited by the younguns special mention of the first years Windsor Kolt AMW who add exhilaration and excitement, and particularly Windsor's royal command performance in goal assists and delivery forward in general. JVR fought manfully in the ruck though. we missed him badly in the deep forward line. Far from convinced re Petty as a ruck though he did OK around the ground as far as I could see. Max is irreplaceable, so kudos to the whole team for a very even effort - no obvious passengers (despite pickett fence's undisguised dislike for Petty).

Yes, we have read it all before. Even the very best of recruiters don't get it right every time. Time to move on. Thanks, and good evening. You have missed nothing, but sadly his dad will, coaching the Tigers so will miss seeing the debut.
