Mr fence - I too have had serious reservations re Shane McAdam - but some have suggested that he is on a specific tailored programme possibly specifically to have him ready for Kozzie’s spot rounds 1-3. I guess only time will tell. Interesting, ghost - haven’t seen a WCW report in ages. Are you and her ever seen in the same undoctored photo?

Sounds like we have got over the physical and mental traumas of 2023 and 2024 allowing for far better preparation for the long season ahead - 🤞5 weeks longer than last. I was beginning to worry that Mr fence had been envenomated en route and missed his fave Mr J showing his wares it seems with some aplomb The whole team balance sounds better with more alternative options available in ruck, mids, forwards and defence. I hope the selectors and match day team show more flexibility and use these options more, when needed. I like the sound of what he offers (though I have never seen him) but his presumed position is getting very crowded and he surely must make a debut in 2025, and a decent one at that, if he is ever going to make the grade and remain on the list. I guess he was a low risk high ceiling sort of pick anyway.

IMO many of Duke’s kicks were already elite, especially earlier in the season. Duke, Langford, Kolt and The Spreadsheet will serve us well for a long time.

Sure I get your point, but in cases where the AFL mandates a retirement as in Angus’ case then surely it is different (or should be).

There was at some stage a suggestion that Shane McAdam may decide to retire. Haven’t heard anything about that for a while. Not saying that he should, but IF he did then I would hope it wouldn’t be anything like Angus’ forced retirement after list finalisation.

Clayton has played far less time as a forward than has Tracc, so expect fewer goals. Or are you maybe suggesting cause v effect? Spargo may feel he could be fit for round 1, but given the others vying for his spot (whatever that may actually be) he may have to wait.

fr_ap - exactly what I was thinking. We have a young gun on a wing, touted by some as Tulip#2, so why not continue his development there? I think poor Spargo would be happy to be playing at all - sadly he does look like he could be someone who injury has set him back too far, with others streaming past.😢

Sure depth is vital, but come September, late September in particular, IF all are fit there will be some terrible disappointments all around. It happens, and overall would be a great problem to have.
