Feels like 💩 because he is 💩 Agree 100%. Exception of course is M^&*$#ard Hopefully the Magpies won't even make finals Presumably they enrol under multiple names.

DD - I like most of your observations, except Sparrow who has done his job - do we Know exactly what his tasks have been? Certainly wasn't centre bounce attendances on Sunday. I would be actually fuming HIS decision to lash out with his foot Nonetheless it is a deliberate kick.
-
Thanks WCW. You said that the Kolt was doing extra runs - he, and Woey also did a lot of running after the game on Sunday on the vacant MCG, and I must say they looked super impressive and enthusiastic (as much as one can determine from 150 meters away). Did Jake Lever have any sort of limp - though it was reported as cramp on Sunday, it is not unknown for clubs to play mind games.

Is there any footage available?

Thanks jnrmac - I did go through the rule book and found 18.11.2.d and that does appear a very unreasonable rule, particularly if the ball up was closer to goal, though then reading 8.2.4.c I guess the ball up would rarely be closer to goal unless I guess there is an unresolved scrimmage near the behind post. All a bit confusing as I am sure I have seen ball ups within a few meters of goal near the behind line. However it does seem that they did ball it up in the correct position, which is crazy. It was actually on the behind line, so th umpire was technically correct. A very unfair rule though.

I wonder if Petty's "quiet game" in VFL combined with BBB's good game makes selection easier this week. Even if BBB has a "just reasonable" game this week and Petty shows decent form then BBB gets a rest and Petty goes to Adelaide. Is that a new rule? The ball was in the outer ⅓ of the behind space, yet it was balled up in the midline? Did the umpire not call high contact on McDonald because he thought it out of play, or because he doesn't know the rules? Maybe both.
-
Kicking is one of the lowest acts on a footy field - he is bloody lucky not to have started with 4 regardless of impact. Cannot be tolerated
-
We will have to agree to differ then. Petty cannot have gained one ounce of confidence and would be going into an important game (yes, they are all important) bewildered. Let’s hope he has a good game next weekend at VFL (unless of course there is another bloody bye) and gets right to take to Adelaide which he can look around and see why he doesn’t want to live there.

If you are referring to the first few minutes, there was little sloppy disposal by the time Footscray had 2.1 on the board because at the stage we had exactly one handball and zero kicks. Couldn’t believe it could happen. Almost looked like our famous bang, bang, bang. My MFCSS kicked in hard but fortunately we finally switched on and had a fantastic win. How can a team with a gun ruck and gun midfield allow 2.1 before our first kick 😮😮😮. Were they just enjoying our glorious sunshine?
-
By all accounts Petty wasn’t up to form in the VFL practice game, and BBB did a great job (yes maybe on a NQR opponent) so why in the world make that change, yet ??
-
Thankfully after yesterday’s very solid performances by the two “geriatric write offs” we won’t be pushed into anything rushed.
-
Were there a new record number of score reviews today? Annoying and pathetic. Perhaps they just need to revert to goal umpire's call, and the guys in the bunker can look all they like and if 100% certain it was wrong then stop play and recall it. After all it was done on the ANB goal v Carlton even though there was zero let alone 100% evidence that it was touched.

Take Petty to Adelaide - spend a week there and he may decide he has seen it all and wants to stay in Melbourne. Any updates on Lever's leg? He was hobbling a bit (?calf or ankle?) at the end and after the game.
-
I thought that our crowd was disappointingly quiet for most of the game. Plenty to be excited about. Come on, folks, yell a bit. Lever's memorable kick, rather like Harmes' most memorable kick ever, in 2021.
-
Melbourne - great team effort.
-
If North or Hawthorn (or Saints) move there maybe ok - odd numbers just make the totally inequitable season scheduling even worse if possible. And all the comparisons with Geelong just reminds me of one more demand - frankly spending hundreds of millions on a stadium can wait, but FFS please AFL get one thing right. A proper sized and shaped ground ( NOT KP or SCG) with a stable surface right from the start.
-
Hopefully our goal kicking coach has moved over to the Mayflowers.
-
Ollie - the doomsayers would say both Melbourne and Colonwood are doomed. 🙄 SYD handles the G layout outstandingly last night. The AFL could have an all Saturday arvo round - the retro round.
-
Hopefully catches up with the Visy 💰mob from Royal Parade soon too.
-
Does he actually seem to want out or does the media (and the Crows) want him out? What has he actually said? Does anyone here actually KNOW something ?
-
Did the Visy paper bag$ arrive just in time?
-
"Why are we not in the conversation for JUH?" And who says we are not? Does every club have to come out and give a press release whenever they are looking at an opposition player?
-
Mmmm? I really cannot remember any wanting to pot McVee ... maybe I have a poor memory.

Which again raise the question of a talented ruckman being a specialist forward coach. We seem to have no leading patterns: all seem to congregate in a pack and hope for the best. dryness draining? Surely humidity is far more draining. If so why was he (#9) played without any preseason? Bewildering really. Is Hore fit and ready?
