  1. ๐Ÿ though they will be mostly "resting" this time of year. That said, they are still around - an old bushman once told me that they were more dangerous in winter because they are too slow to get out of the way; in summer they will mostly slither off and seek cover.

We need quite a few upgrades, actually. so true But how long can he go at 85% TOG? Goldstein goes at 75%, (Brundy 76%.) He may get an extra year or. two if he was prepared to, and had the support to, do 70-75%. And, there would be the break glass too. At present we have zero replacement, and haven't even bothered to look at Fullarton who we recruited - presumably - for that option.

well he ainโ€™t Robinson Crusoe there, is he?
  4. WCW (and your locum) many thanks. What did she mean exactly by โ€œImpressive one-on-one Kentfield v May.โ€?? May impressive v new boy, or new boy impressive v May?? Very interested in any other observations on Kentfield. Supermen in disguise field ?
  5. Did anyone manage to get pics, or did the club release any (๐Ÿค—) of him with the team at training?
  6. Maybe yes, probably not. But either way if he has t been selected in the last three rounds of desperate need of a forward / ruck cover then why in the hell was he recruited? Please explain!
  7. And of course Luker Kentfield to debut with 10 goals, 15 contested marks, 5 goal assists, 15 tackles. ๐Ÿ™„

He appears totally devoid of confidence, regardless of his body. I understand that the match committee prefer to bring back key players direct to AFL, but this must be destroying his spirit. Surely even a week or two at Casey could help him regain touch and thus confidence.

OMG Are you on something. He was one of our pressure leaders last week and usually is, despite โ€œpoor formโ€. The words โ€œpoor formโ€ could also be written on your mirror.
  10. A big difference of course that Cam was a mature bodied experienced AFL player when we recruited him; Luker is a young inexperienced WAFL player. I hope he develops into more that a fill in role player, not downplaying in any way the value Cam gave to the club.
  11. โ€ฆ and of course, Gus. Melk was mooted to return โ€œafter the byeโ€ which is round 15. Reports have said that he was in full training over the last several weeks. After such a layoff surely he will need at least one game at VFL. Unfortunately Casey has, of course, a bye weekend 15 June so he canโ€™t get a warm up there.
  12. Thanks so much WCW for another great set of observations and insights. So they were in high spirits. Is that a good thing ie not dwelling over what cannot be undone, or bad that they were happy and not as angry as the supporter base? Good to hear that Luker Kentfield has hit the track. Was he welcomed by the group as a whole? Did he look, from what sounds like a limited session, grossly underdone? How was his ball handling both in the air and on the turf?
  13. I notice that Luker Kentfield is NOT on this list but was rumored to be carrying an injury. Any inside info anyone? Has he trained?
  14. Billings!!??๐Ÿ˜ฎ Kolt, or Sestan, or AMW and of course Woey for a full game on wing / HF
  15. Wasnt JJ a free agent? The timing of Angusโ€™ retirement really hurt us - as I recall it was after trades and after draft day. So no possible replacement.
  16. 6. Max 5. Petracca 4. McDonald 3. Tomlinson 2. Langdon 1. McVee
  17. mid 2000 I seem to recall being absolutely flogged by Footscray and Carlton - went on th play a GF against an unbeatable team (had they started supplements by then?)
  18. Sub had been activated by then - already struggling and now an extra man down? you forget out Brayshaw, Smith and in FullArton plus FullArton
  19. Yes depth isnโ€™t as good as we may have thought. However Smith cannot be replaced and Brayshaw retired after draft day and is irreplaceable anyway. Jordon is the one we would have fought harder for or offered more had we known Gus wasnโ€™t going to play. Hibberd retired and Dunstan was ordinary
  20. I guess after todays debacle there will be posters here calling for his immediate elevation to the seniors ๐Ÿ™„
  21. โ€ฆ and the apparently unwanted Fullarton and AMW To each his own. I enjoy the banter. โ€ฆ. and (sounding like a broken record) a forward forward coach.
  22. Of course nobody compels you to listen to the podcast.
  23. Could Austin Wonnameri even pull this one out of the fire?
  24. Unless and until we find a forward coach with forward experience and forward nous we will not be true contenders. Enough is enough.
  25. Mc Adam has done about as much as Fullarton this year. ๐Ÿ™„ No. An arm wrestle involves two competitors.
