We all know who caused the retirements of Murphy and Gus - was said #4💩 anywhere near Rory's eye perchance?

The Drums are starting to beat for North
monoccular replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
They. already have a Tasmanian presence, and they have a coach who is said to support a Tasmanian presence. Nobody wants an uneven number of teams. Logic suggests that North relocate. Chook - AFL may well be heading for broke if the rumoured concussion class action succeeds. -
Thanks Kev and all others including WCW Did I read it right that both Bowey and Melksham were in full training? Fabulous news if I am reading correctly. Would it mean that Bowey could be back this week or next, and Melk only a few weeks later presumably via a few at Casey

Sam Van Rooyen in for Ben Brown on LTI?
monoccular replied to Wizard of Koz's topic in Melbourne Demons
Are you saying that the AFL has a ruling that they are holding back? Seriously? Reasons?? Blackmail? Corruption? Incompetence? Totally unbelievable and unacceptable if this is true. -
Sam Van Rooyen in for Ben Brown on LTI?
monoccular replied to Wizard of Koz's topic in Melbourne Demons
WADA ASADA and or the AFL are denying the Magna Carta Magna Carta of 1215, clause 40 of which reads, "To no one will we sell, to no one will we refuse or delay, right or justice. -
“Still think Verrall can still play a role some stage this year as a 2nd hand Similar to how we use Jackson.” Verrall sounds an interesting one. To even mention him in the same sentence as Jackson causes salivation. And for those who have had the opportunity to see both throughout their careers, and I reacll Max took about 4 years to be taken seriously, how do these two compare? More cause for salivation?

Undoubtedly these questions will already have been asked, or will be covered anyway by the panel: 1/ why have our 3 midfield guns. Clarry, JV and Tracc gone off the boil at the same time? I can't remember any of them let alone all having such a poor run of form. 2/ Is Harry's horror run of form mainly physical, or mental? Does he need to see the team psychologist? Personally I think suggestions of him having checked out are offensive. Surely he would love another flag, even if he is planing on moving to SA sometime, and it would also lower his bargaining power if he ended up at Casey 3/ Who should take HBF while Bowey and Salo recover? To me it doesn't look like Woey, at this stage of his career at least. 4/ From whom are our goals going to come in the next two vital weeks? Fritta? Disco again? Petty? Smalls? 5/ Why was BBB played at Casey instead of being given a genuine rest? He needs to be very carefully managed if he is to contribute come the business end of the season. 6/ is there any explanation at all for the turnover fest in the first half? Probably the worst I can recall, and from both sides Thanks as always for your mostly positive slants on our beloved Demons.

Not forever but yes for a week.

Do we really know if Fullerton is a ruck forward or a forward ruck? They wouldn’t even open the mail. So far up themselves the arrogant bastards at AFL HQ
-
Ross Lyon - how long since he ran out on Freo? Hangover still? 4. Or is he on the AFL darling list?
-
First word sums it up. IF the AFL were serious about violence and assault, which this was. IF they could do it in a way that gave them enough wriggle room for their anointed darlings to get off when needed they may consider it, but if they can't, they won't. Point one - pretty unlikely in my view especially for the types of incidents discussed here Point two - the best summation yet, but again, what if Pendelberry or Cripps did this on finals eve?

Somewhere I recall there have been suggestions that the MRO and tribunal are corrupt incompetent institutions. There has certainly nothin happen this week to suggest otherwise.
-
Yes probably US cultural imperialism, but stolen from Yiddish long before the existence of the nation Israel. And yes - Clarry is a beaut bloke, quite bonza.
-
BBP - you will be getting the "shocking injury management MFCCS" posters out of the woodwork. I never recall any fractured clavicle being ready for the rigors of top grade footy in under 6-8 weeks. Correct me if I am wrong.
-
Are you really surprised?? I am not. This goes on all the time and is just ignored.
-
Houdini escaped more times than Charlie Cameron and Patrick Cripps have at the tribunal. And he died of a ruptured appendix which was not all that uncommon in the 1920s.
-
Of course it is a dog act - but tolerated by the hypocritical afl and the incompetent MRO. Clarrie cops these most weeks. ANY strike should start at one week( if they are in any way serious about stamping out unnecessary and unsightly violence which clearly they re not) - yes, even for Collingwood and Carlton players in finals. But of course even if Christian did look at it (though wasn't instructed to do so by Ch 7) he would grade low impact, in play (because it was at the ground) and maybe even accidental.

Much as I detest the increase of gambling advertising in our game, your point is interesting to say the least. Most gamblers, I believe, bet with their heads not their hearts, and aren’t likely to often throw money after sentiment.without likelihood of return. Any gamblers here please correct me if this is too simplistic.

Has anyone ever seen so many turnovers? Kicks DIRECT to opposition players. Eyesight? Jumper clash? (didn’t happen way back when covered in mud). Execution WILL kill us today and for the season.
-
And prepare yourselves for AFL byes, yes more of them, courtesy of some [censored] named Gil for introducing a 19th team and not replicating a team that already has Tasmanian connections. The farcical scheduling will become even more inequitable.
-
No fault on Woey's part but he was NOT anywhere near an adequate replacement for the injured Salem. Maybe Turner will play a role on HBF??
-
Thanks kev for your usual insightful analysis From those who trained who would be HBF for Salem? I am not sure I like the suggestions from some of moving Duke or Langdon there - have they been there before? Woey though no fault of his own was not up to scratch as his in game replacement. Maybe Disco?
-
I may be wrong but I seem to have heard somewhere that heading the ball is not allowed in some junior soccer competitions - not sure how young though
-
Maybe the Carlton guy could also be cited for overreacting ... well after impact
