Surely that throw in farce must convince even the dullards of the AFL rules committee that the nominated ruck man rule is a blight on the game No nomination from either side so waste another 10 seconds and allow the congestion to increase further Just get rid of it

Hopefully we will play a good lot of very good Friday footy next year if the AFL are true to their word about wanting attractive high scoring games in prime time

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - GUY WALKER

Craig Bradley was the last I remember though Brad Green I believe was a top grade junior cricketer. -
A shrewd observation, RD. Or did you mean Daisy Thomas?

Should Jack Viney consider amputating his toe for the team?

If everyone reported all their strange dreams on this site then I suspect that there would be a lot of suspensions and not many surviving posters. But .... a CFC Members meeting is more weird than any dream, or nightmare, that I can remember. -
Is that for an ambulance for the heart attack, or the police to take away the maggots for aggravated burglary?

It takes courage sometimes to make that sort of call especially on the eve of VFL finals. Thanks Harley for giving it a go, and for your contributions to Casey this year. You have played a part in their success so far.

Are you sure Mr ShortOn? Dean and Spalding were good CHFs, but never the strong contested marks of Tommy.

And what about his twin, Donald?

Then how about amuitating the whole foot - and giving him an Oscar Pistorius (?sp) spring foot (but keep him away from guns at home at night)? -
Far far too much information Biff. Other than that I am speechless.

FMD -- where is the exorcist to rid us of the CONS? IF neither Kent nor Bugg get a gig then surely their 'cards are marked'. That said, vandenBerg has been gradually building up a case. Maybe Hannan if fit could be a decent like-for-like.

They have their agenda, and fairness and equity have absolutely nothing to do with it, whatever they say. Lying, and making up rules on the run are part of their DNA. I suspect that when Vlad resigned, and the search was on for his replacement, these were the top rated KPIs, and Gill met the criteria better than any.

".....Under the trial, the team that has a player outside of their starting position will be penalised with a free kick. In the event that a player from each team is outside the required position then the player deemed to be furthest away will be penalised....." More things for the umpires to get wrong. And they say that trialing one rule at a time would be a waste of time !! Is the "expanded goal square" (which even now isn't square, and will be faster from that under the new rule, but that is me being pedantic) designed to encourage longer kick outs? Is there anything to stop the FB kicking from the side of the 'square'? IMVHO not awarding the defensive side a mark until after the ball has cleared defensive 50 would encourage long kick ins more.

Tex and Jenkins, softest big men in the game

First game back from a one week suspension (which should have been more) if I am not mistaken. -
Later this year .... like September 29 perhaps? ?

I reckon he is THE consistently best contested mark I have seen at MFC, Ox included. Amazing strength and ball flight reading.

IF he turned out like Mason Cox we would all be very excited. Wans't he plucked from US basketball? -

It is very clear that either (or both) Michael Christian doesn't have a clue and /or is under instruction to look after the franchise(and "power") clubs. -
Tommy would inspire by example .... but is a FF necessarily a good spot for a captain. I remember this discussion when Neita was skipper ... sometimes isolated when the ball was locked deep in our back line.

The players have apparently sworn off alcohol ...... hopefully they will swear off reading newspapers or listening to any media, and hide all bath plugs until their Premiership celebrations begin.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY

Yes. You are missing the corruption and ineptitude of the MRP MRO position: could not not suspend him but absolutely zero doubt had a Demon done the deed it would have been "inexcusable, dangerous- 3-4 weeks", but a franchise precious, despite having a poor record, gets a soft penalty. -
[re May's late high hit] Should get three given his record, but using the Walker precedent of one week (as Adelaide were playing Demons in two) May will get a fine (as Suns are playing Demons in one).
