  1. Surely possession per se are not how one should judge a KP defender I vaguely recall a game at the G where I think it was Danny Frawley who held some whizz band FF goalless and got BOG with, as I recall, a single possession.
  2. Lookshury!
  3. I seem to recall one club, maybe even MFC, who in a full preseason session were instructed NOT to use their preferred foot. Certainly regularly practicing with the non preferred foot (and hand) fairly quickly improves the skills.
  4. What forward in their right mind would want to play under Lyon? Sure, a negating defender maybe, but a forward?
  5. So, we are doomed because a retired sneaky little staging sniper says so. Woe is me ???
  6. I haven’t had the opportunity to see if he has improved his handballduring his long layoff : certainly would have had plenty of time to work on it. But he is a hard tough player who can kick a long ball. If he gets up to pace he would not be the sort of type one would want to be tagged by. More on the positive side IMO than Bugg. Brad Miller did a massive job on Barry Hall once, and Brent Grgic as I recall may have even had two good games. Watts too. One swallow doth not a summer make What we need are players who can reliably play well, with the great games as bonuses.
  7. "in the short term is there a suitable big man out there who could reasonably hold down a fwd position so we could at least offer game time." And leave out Hogan, or McDonald??? Or are we again going to go with too many talls with a third (Weideman, Bull, Pedo?)
  8. But of course (other than intraclub practice games) he wouldn’t have to contend with Gus ever again ? Frankly no disgrace to lower ones colours to Gus in his current form.
  9. His foot looks like it is coming long very nicely.
  10. Has already appeared to have done this and has again reached another level. I only saw bits and pieces of Tulip, but Clarrie is outstanding and has been from game 1.
  11. Yes, disappointing. But there are bigger prizes than an artificial promo for the AFL's precious franchise clubs. I am sure Charlie would prefer a premiership medallion than the rising star
  12. So, Win, you are privy to the exact details of the injury and the scan results?
  13. Haven't heard of Dion Johnstone for a few weeks. He sounded as if he could have been developing as a small defender under Nev's tutelage, but has disappeared from the radar. Is he injured?
  14. But he couldn't play yesterday.
  15. Well we had better not lose then - simple really.
  16. Many thanks for all the reports. How did VDB go? Is he getting closer to promotion?
  17. No. Sadly, totally believable
  18. And they overlooked so many blatant throws, and also many incorrect disposals. And don't start me on that prima donna Chamberpot - he just cant resist making it all about him!
  19. What a finish. Actually, for us, Richmond winning may have been better but well done GW$$
  20. GS$ V TOIGES what a contest. Pity about the umpires forgetting all about incorrect disposal though. Prancer just dropped the hot potato under pressure in GW$ forward 50 with 3 ½ minutes to go - "play on".
  21. MAX OLLIE BRAYSHAW SALEM TOMMY MCD FRITSCH
  22. No idea how that crossed threads. Maybe some confused umpire has hacked this site looking for his betting site?
  23. Spartacus, the (legendary) rebellious Roman gladiator
  24. Goodwin said something about the scan showing some activity again in the area he had trouble with last time. Not good at all and such a pity that he will (in all probability) not get a chance to renew hostilities with Duckwood.
  25. I guess, even though it didn’t look like it much of the time, the usage must have been far better. Still, IMO, too many long bombs forward but it worked better today Maybe we are learning to manage Darwin a bit better, though maybe the opposition today let us off. I was dreading a second half fade out which didn’t happen. Well done Dees. Interestingly, I thought the opposite. Lewis cost us with at least one appalling turnover.
