  1. Good post. I have pondered this question each year and unless a lot of guys kick a few we could be in trouble. The figures you provide come to 240 - but a lot of that is best case. Someone must have the stats but how many goals do top four or top six sides kick, on average, in a home and away season? I'm guessing 300+. So do we need more contibutors? Who might/they be?
  2. I was at a game (V Hawks) when an opposition supporter told her daughter she "felt sorry" for Melbourne. How shameful is that? We have got to become a Kick arse side and change perceptions by changing the scoreboard.
  3. Did you omit the LOL after your post? Otherwise it's the same sentiments that come up year after year. Jesus, how long since our last flag?
  4. Yes exactly. Melbourne has done this to us supporters for years - given us a wiff of opportunity early - then it turns into the stench of s*** by end of season. I really despair of ever experiencing the sweet smell of success.
  5. Good call
  6. Australia beat Sri Lanka on their home turf - maybe a sign of revival. Melbourne defeated by PA on their turf! Maybe a sign of reality.

  8. Forget the umpiring. We were p=== poor. If we cant beat sides like PA then we have a long way to go. So far in fact that we need to rebuild on our rebuild. We are miles away from being a contender.
  9. Agreed+. He showed enough under the circumstabces.
  10. How many times have I heard that in the last 50 years? F==== I'm over it!
  11. Clever! Thanks for the laugh.
  12. A perfect description!
  13. For mine it is our skills (or lack thereof) that are the giveaway. Time and time again we give the ball up by poor disposal or by lack of clean receival. This area of our game appears to have remain unchanged over recent years. Unless this changes we are destined to remain mediocre.
  14. Only if you add Juice as Depuy VC
  15. I don't support the idea of "experienced" coaches. Are there any Brad Scott clones out there?
  16. I hope he does win it. It would be just reward for the [censored] he has endured. I believe this fellow will become a great of our club.
  17. I agree with all the naysayers above, but wouldn't be something if we pinched the game of west coast (it is doable) and then beat our fellow minnows and fell into the finals. In a bizzare way it would sum us up.
  18. It will be a good game to attend - no trouble getting a good seat or a beer.
  19. I remember watching him at that time- he was freakish. Unfortunately he didn't have the mental toughness or discipline of his brother and just fade into oblivion.
  20. Perhaps i've had too much red - but what exactly do you mean?
  21. I cannot think of any player who has had so much pressure of expectation heaped on him. They way he has worked through it demonstrates enormous mental toughness. This bloke has what it takes to be a captain.
  22. Peter Sumich was being talked up last year as a quality coaching candidate. Anyone know where he's at?
  23. Sadly, you are absolutely correct - we could not look any sillier. Or should that be pathetic?
  24. How about "Ditter" as playing coach?
  25. I remember the '64 flag. I am 58 years of age. I seriously doubt I will live (or remain sane) long enough to see another.
