  1. I'd also imagine that the fact he has made his contract decision has eased his mind a bit.
  2. I spoke recently to a family member of Jack Hutchins, who said that whilst it hadn't worked out at GC, he was determined to give it another crack, and if that meant going via the VFL, then he would do it. Hope he has another great year.
  3. Terlich was also delisted with M Jones and Grimes.
  4. Beat me to it: Ballantyne's is a Melbourne manufacturer of butter.
  5. That is a fookin classic! I thought Knifeduck was funny, but that's knocked it into a cocked hat.
  6. Don't agree at all - it sounds like damage limitation.
  7. Well, that's nice, dear. "As of yesterday afternoon" FFS!
  8. Not sure how I feel about this. Love Lewis's toughness and team first ethic, but too old now? Also, I know these guys are professionals, but I wonder how easy it is to drum up your enthusiasm for another club, when you've only got a couple of years left as a player. Still - kudos to whichever poster it was, who claimed we would be looking at a curve ball trade.
  9. Good news, baffled me when he wasn't included at times this year, as we looked better with him in. He's a good foil for Hogan and leads well at the ball. As a few have already said, players like Pedersen are vital to a good team.
  10. Pffft...not really bothered. A PP is not the answer as we all know. How many flags have Carlton won since their 3 PPs (Kreuzer, Murphy, Walker)? Much happier with the AFL getting us sorted with PJ and Roos. What's the old saying about buy a man a fish or teach him how to fish?
  11. Love it - sounds like a Morrissey lyric.
  12. Lovely piece, WJ.
  13. I really like the Hells Bells - there's the obvious connection to the Demons. The only time I've heard another club play it was at the Carlton game and I think they did it before the teams came out, as part of the build up. We should just keep it - doesn't really make sense for any other team.
  14. They certainly didn't seem to want it as much as the Swans, who were ferocious. That attitude has remained from the Roos days - I long to see the day when Melbourne play with that intensity every week.
  15. This is why I think that whatever happens Hogan-wise, the administration will make sure that the club comes out of it with a great deal. There are good operators at the MFC these days.
  16. I don't know how post a link, but the MFC Instagram has footage of the boys belting out the song. It's a must-see, purely for Choo Choo not knowing the words apart from the shouty chorus bit. He just wears a massive grin throughout, fookin classic, I love that bloke. Pretty good song as well - first time I'd heard it. Can anyone put the link up as I'm not savvy enough?!
  17. This is what is not getting much coverage - I have no idea if the compensation awards are made public, but it stinks to me. It could be seen by some as a way of staying in the salary cap, yet awarding players with 'compensation' to ensure they sign on.
  18. Gold. I'm going to use that one!
  19. Just watched the mini doco on the website - first time I've seen him speak other than the odd press conference. He certainly comes across as very calm, confident and assured...looking forward to the ride!
  20. Which is why Damian Barrett reckons it'll be the Hawks with their eye on Jesse...Sliding Doors
  21. Tayla Harris is a Queenslander, so probably natural that she'd go to the Lions.
  22. Have to agree - exciting game, quite different from the men's game. Hopefully it'll go from strength to strength.
  23. I love the bloke.
  24. What's going on here?! He's laughing at us...and now he's going to take Harmesy as well!
  25. That's a very good example - hadn't thought about it in that way.
