  1. haha, we all love Jonesy but let's not go nuts.. Reality is he would've been fortunate to crack the squad, let alone the 22.
  2. Cash whores and those who like the challenge of dragging a club out of the dust. What we seriously lack are players that other players will want to play with. Even the Dogs have the likes of Boyd, Murphy, Cooney...big names from whom they can learn and develop their own game.
  3. Surprised at how many are dismissive of this. Proven marking and tackling ability, in need of some coaching on his set shots and someone who can get him in the right headspace that believes in his raw ability, of which he has oodles. He'll get this at a club that isn't down the shitter and will flourish once he leaves. Nothing surer. Disappointing if true, but just another player who has stagnated this year. He joins a pretty long list.. Beamer was a disgrace to himself and the club this year so couldn't give a stuff about him, but you get the strong sense that there hasn't been enough belief shown in Ricky and his development has suffered.
  4. Someone once described Trenners as a "McDonalds Shift Manager on horse tranqulisers". Pretty much sums it up for me. Could be easy to overlook if he was putting in decent performances on the field. Even half decent..

...or get him not to spit in the club's face and head off to Poort. Poort ffs. Good riddance to the ar$ehole. Sorry, wrong thread..
  6. By my reckoning we have about 6 (yes, 6) players that can be relied upon and can form the basis of an actual AFL team - a couple in defence, a couple in the midfield, and a couple up forward. Their effort is never questioned and their skill level can be considered to be AFL standard. They are what we must stand for, and they are all that is keeping my interest afloat throughout this debacle. I also take comfort in the fact that it is near impossible to have a year worse than the one we have just endured.
  7. Just add it to the nightmare that has been 2012.
  8. You know I like your style RR, but seriously mate, what can we do? You can say "enough is enough", stamp your feet and demand list culls, but how are we meant to influence this change in any meaningful way? We can protest through not paying memberships and not turning up to matches. Actions such as this only hurt the club in the long run. We can write to the club expressing how we feel about the current situation, but that's hardly going to bring about any revelations internally. It's not a matter of accepting, it's more a matter of realising that we as supporters can only do so much. The club's actual direction is something we have very little influence over at all.
  9. I'll renew with gritted teeth. Neeld has alot of work ahead to show that he knows what the hell he's doing, but he needs at least another year. On that basis I'll renew, but if 2013 is more of the same woefulness..
  10. I hear ya brother.
  11. Actually I take back that analogy as bread and water are the basics, and we often don't even get those. So yes, torture it is.
  12. It's like a prison sentence no doubt, but there's always the hope that next week will be something other than bread and water. No more ham and turkeys though thanks.
  13. I'm worried about what happens to this club if next year is the same as this one, which honestly seems likely. Just a shell of a team really.
  14. Sorry , but statements like "rarely gets into space" and "struggles to take a mark" is absolute head in the sand stuff. These might have been valid criticisms 12 months ago. Natanui has developed at a great rate of knots this season, both in terms of his skills by hand and foot, hit outs to advantage, but moreso by the non-quantifiable elements of his game - i.e. his understanding of the game. We're talking about a guy that has pretty much won games off his own back this season. That doesn't happen because his skills are abysmal. There is absolutely no question who is at present a more valuable asset between him and Watts. Only the most one-eyed supporter would dispute that it is Natanui. That being said, the question of whether he would've developed as well at Melbourne (under Russian for instance) as he has at West Coast is a valid one. I like Watts and his skills will make him more than serviceable, but I'm not sure how much longer we'll have to wait for him to find some sort of fire in the belly. Even just a spark. The kid has NO desire for a contest, which becomes an issue wherever you are on the field. Can it be instilled in him ? I'm not sure.
  15. Let's just hope they actually remember how to play an attacking brand of footy..

    TIRED

Turned it off in the 3rd quarter. Just more of the same rubbish witnessed all year. I thought we looked alright on paper, that's probably the worst part. Might be time to start rethinking the actual ability attached to names like Grimes, Trengove, McKenzie, Garland..
  17. This. It's like he's injected with tranquilisers before every match.
  18. Great goal assist from Scotty Thompson.
  19. Grimes can look a very average footballer at times..
  20. Stoked with this news. Sammy is one who represents the future of this great club.
  21. I had no idea David King had joind D'Land. Welcome aboard Kingy.
  22. Moot point. There is absolutely zero chance we'll win either game.
  23. Have to admit, I'm getting a little bit tired of the average age/games defense. He mentions it every presser. The average age of our playing list is 22 yrs 342 days. Adelaide is next in line at 23 yrs 44 days and averaging 5 less games, and they're going okay... I realise it comes into the big picture but the incessant referral to it is grating on me.
  24. Would get a run with us the way we're travelling. I think potshots at the opposition after that absolutely shizen performance are misdirected.
  25. Drafting hasn't been great, but you just know that many of these players who are seemingly draft blunders would be performing alot better were they at another club. Our development has been the major issue, which is linked to the culture of the club...turn turn turn.
