  1. Not necessarily? In theory a player could come close to getting a nomination each week but just be pipped by someone different each time, so by the time he finally does get the nod he's still had a solid year. I take your point, it's far less likely, but regardless I think it should be based on consistency throughout the year rather than just pure potential. How many players on our own list would be rising star winners based on the potential seen in one performance over consistent performances throughout the year?
  2. Rivers would be a bad loss IMO. Jurrah obviously. I still hold a shred of hope for Ricky Bobby but it's fading. The rest.......not so much..
  3. Well we did inflict the biggest loss of his coaching career.
  4. The news item on Facebook about Morton being out for the year has prompted some predictable comments early from keyboard heroes. I'm no Morton fan but to respond to a season ending injury with "good news" and "thank god" is disgusting. If it were up to me I'd have them serve a ban from attending matches.
  5. OTC is compelling viewing if only to see the new innovative ways Healy will use to mask his baldness. He has one of the more intriguing comb-backs I've ever seen. Anyhow, I must be one of the freaks who doesn't mind Roos. Everyone whose played under him loves him to pieces, and the culture instilled at the Swans is the envy of the competition. I think the man deserves to be listened to for that reason alone, and at least he isn't among the countless media personalities who change their opinions more frequently than their underwear based on who is the flavour of the week. That said, I wouldn't complain to having a new "expert" on the show just to freshen it up. Hird and Roos each served their purpose but I think it's time for another new rotation. All three of them love sinking the boot into us, but they're in good company in the media in general. Mike's insistence that the whole Brock revelations came as a total shock and were never discussed at any stage prior, was laughable to say the least. Mike needs to stick to Open Mike. Other than that, he needs to put out to pasture. This Johnny Farnham version of retirement he's adopted is growing tiresome. I'll still watch OTC regardless...because they discuss footy.
  6. Unrelated, but couldn't believe on Fox today they put up a list of our top draft picks and spelled his last name "Trengrove". At the beginning of the show, Lynch called him Jackson. 3 years in, captain of the club, and they still struggle. Part of me thinks they do it on purpose.
  7. It did almost verge on being unfair of Neeld to place him on the number 1 player in the league in his first outing since Round 11.
  8. Jokes aside, his marking is creating a genuine buzz amongst footy followers everywhere. Amidst debates about how the MFC can attract younger fans, a guy like Jezza is like a gift from above...where he spends alot of his time, incidentally.
  9. 6. Jones 5. Howe 4. Green 3. Grimes 2. Dunn 1. Sylvia Good day for the seniors.
  10. Take the four points, but a very disappointing second half. That was not a four quarter performance despite that assertion from the commentators and Neeld himself.
  11. Can't really call him Spencil anymore. He's doubled in size ffs.
  12. Bit rough Jaded. Can only play who you're up against and we've outclassed them all over the ground and linked up well. Kicking at 74% isn't shizen. Can't have asked for alot more considering the personnel we have on the ground.
  13. Best news all year. I was shitscared re Jones.
  14. Completely one sided. To us. This feels weird.
  15. "The whole thing was a set up. The puppeteers were pulling the strings to perfection. The kid who not long ago publicly claimed he contracted aids from somebody's mother had left what passed for his brain in the studio's green room." Gold.
  16. So would Rawlings.
  17. Jesus Christ. That's worked wonders for us thus far hasn't it?
  18. I'm astounded that there are still fans who want to see us lose games after witnessing what that mentality has done to this club. It actually amazes me.
  19. One thing Neeldy won't be able to blame this time is the opposition's "slick ball movement".
  20. I won't be the least bit surprised.
  21. lol...on the back of this? When did he say this? Everyone knows BT is a goose but that is new territory even for him.
  22. The only rat here is Sheahan, and possibly Healy, but this has Mike Sheahan written all over it. Brock is no rocket scientist, and Mike smelled what he termed himself a "soft kill" in getting him to open up on camera. Saying this was influenced by someone within the club is an enormous stretch I have to say.
  23. I really hope someone points out to him the ludicrousness of leaving Melbourne because tanking conflicted with his principles as "a player and a person", only to move to Carlton. I'm genuinely interested to see what his response would be.
  24. Forget want. Nee(l)d.
