  1. Turnovers and very poor umpiring as well as both sides Being wasteful was the story of the day.
  2. MFC is a club your not part of a club unless your a member. MFC has one of the lowest supporter bases in the AFL. MFC has one of the highest member to supporter ratios in the AFL. If your a supporter but not a member and you have complained about Facilities, on field performance, proposed mergers, having to play home games Interstate, coaching panel, game scheduling, attracting talent from other teams, Lack of block buster games, not being taken seriously, lack of respect from The rest of the competition, lack of premierships and poor attendence at games Your a hypocrite 20 bucks a month is achievable for the majority of the population Its this shitty complacency from MFC suppotters that has seen us in Diabolical positions in the past. Get on board get behind the club both in voice and hard earned at least then Your part of something bigger than yourself. When Grimesy gets up on the stage and thanks those who made the Premiership possible. He's not talking to down hill skiers and freeloaders
  3. I think the most fundamentally lacking areas are our delivery into the forward line and winning the ball in stoppages. However lets remember the competition doesn't start for 2 more weeks.
  4. Finally this mockery is over cant wait for the real stuff. Last 3 weeks I've been holding my breath praying we wouldn't get a serious injury objective complete. Bring on Sydney.
  5. Bit shocked by this decision they better have an iron clad behavioral clause in his contract. Honestly the guy has only ever reflected himself to be a complete toss who drinks his own bathwater. Should be played at full back teach him some humility. I can only see this as a potential to disrupt our kids' development. I just hope that Casey has enough character to keep Fev under control.
  6. Just got back from plastic park. Overall it was disappointing not to win but it was a development squad so I'm not too concerned. Lots of talent to return . Initially disposal was poor from both sides but we did start well kicking 4 straight. We lacked clean possession around the stoppages. At times our structures fell down especially the forward line pushing too far up the ground. We lacked urgency and stagnated from the kick ins allowing Brisbane to set up their zone. But again it was an experimental squad Scully: Impressed with his run he gets involved in contests when others would lack the endurance there were times he was able to follow up 2,3 and 4 contests within short time. Hands are very good awareness to find players with space. Jones: saw him make a hospital hand ball that put a team mate under pressure. Around the stoppages his size was important. Nicholson: Did lots of good things today looks like he should get off the rookie list eventually. Decision under pressure sometimes faulted but the entire side made poor choices today. Tapscott: Couple of times today he showed real class by foot and he is a penetrating kick. Rivers: Gave up a goal with poor disposal kicking across goal as soon as he did he knew how bad a decision it was. Jamar: Strong at the center bounces expect he'll be rested next game worked hard today when he went forward he presented well. Watts: Kicking for goal was impressive he slotted 2 goals at or near fifty on tough angles. Still gets pushed of the ball easily at times he was good. Ready to contribute round 1. Mcdonald: He looks a ready made defender again under pressure he made some poor choices and his disposal let him down. But he has the size and competes well. Maric: At the moment he looks our best small forward kicked 3 goals today. Howe: Went for an awesome hanger late in the last quarter and I'd of paid it. Presented well provided some much needed forward structure Bail: worked through the midfield today looked really good in patches. Sylvia: Kicked a goal but thought he went missing in patches worked hard in the stoppages but often he'd take possession and get tied up. Jetta: Best on I thought worked really hard all day was really good at the stoppages reading the ball off the ruck contest and getting it moving. Tackled hard and strong looks likely to get a round one game. Petterd: Really dangerous today he will add another dimension to our forward line this year really strong overhead, Nice game from him today. Gysberts: Must confess I didn't see a lot of him today he still needs some size very skinny frame.
  7. Firstly if I hear anyone booing Tom I'll spew up. Seriously though it is fundamentally unjust to convict someone on hearsay. More importantly i want to see the 4 questions MFC supporters have for Tom on Friday. Your gonna have to try and pin him down and avoid the double talk. Here are mine 1. Have you or your management on your behalf signed a heads of agreement contract committing to play for GWS in 2012. 2. What are your personal and team goals for this year 3. Will you enter negotiations earlier to avoid continued speculation 4. Can you win the brownlow this year
  8. Good win by the boys like what I'm hearing from the Commentary sounds like Jamar had a good game our Defence stood tall Garland and Macdonald seemed to get Plenty of it. Hopefully we can continue the effort against Port
  9. It's been very hard to not get caught up in the hysteria finally i have succumbed. The major part I'll be disappointed about if he goes is that consistently he has appeared to embrace the culture and history of the MFC and if he goes I don't think he should of accepted RDB's number from the great man himself. Just doesn't seem right. Many will say that he wouldn't have known at the time but he's not silly that's why he didn't extend his contract like Trengove and Tapscott. I just hope this doesn't drag on like Ablett there was speculation that distracted from a Prelim which is a hard thing to do. This is also the ultimate complement to our recruiting it's obvious that we picked the No1 player of the draft and that all those Shitmond supporters who sprout on about Martin are/were wrong.
  10. 10K members still to sign up from last year time for all MFC supporters to start shaking trees and getting the folks signed up. There really is no more excuses the club is finally on the front foot, debt free, exciting player development the time is now to join the journey.
  11. Does Chicken Little have multiple accounts on demonland?
  12. How long from buying a membership to having it delivered does it generally take? How Do we get the 10k or so members to sign up now that haven't renewed so there's money in the coffers? Who's making their mates/family/strangers sign up so we head towards 40K? Who cant wait for the roar of a 50k crowd at our first game?
  13. The AFL has lost all credibility in their dealing with off field issues clearly it's an organisation which is purely politically driven and will only address issues if the census and survey representatives say it's in their interest to do so. At least Fev steers clear of high school playgrounds for his fodder.
  14. Think I'll have a go at this the competition for selection is fierce something that hasn't been present for a while. This will surely push the side forward. B: Bartram Frawley Garland Hb: Rivers Macdonald Grimes C: Maloney Morton Davey HF: Green Sylvia Wonaeamirri FF: Watts Jurrah Campbell R Jamar Mckenzie Scully Int: Jones Trengove Dunn sub Bennell Emergency: Bail Petterd Warnock Bate
  15. That's strange about Ernie Dingo I saw him at a Melbourne vs Richmond game this year wearing Richmond scalf and jacket behind the goals. Near the cheer squad I remember cause he met with Jim Stynes who came down and sat with the cheer squad.
  16. Hope that we have a fit list with no one on the long term injury list. This will ensure the rest takes care of itself. Our list is in a better place now that there is a bunch of young guys coming through to contest spots on a legitimate basis. Rather than have to play youth to fast track development. If we have a good injury list we should make finals.
  17. With a bit more size so he doesn't get smashed to dust he could be a player of the ilk of Harbrow. A speedy defender who breaks the lines with a nice left foot he ticks all the boxes now it's up to him and footy department to see how far he'll come.
  18. I have listened to the podcast of the interview. I have held Bruce in high esteem, through dark periods of the MFC history he held his head above water while others floundered. The impressions from the interview provide me with the feeling of an individual whose own self importance has been put ahead of the team. He says that contract wasn't a sticking point then says he didn't feel he was in MFC future direction. I don't know what land of future he's dreamin but clearly chicken nixon has been in his ear and told him he's the next Robert Harvey. While Bruce has been durable he was only ever good in a bad team and average in a good team. He's been overpaid and his status in the MFC has been disproportionate to that of league which happens in poor sides. He will last a maximum 2 seasons at the Hawks and instead of finishing his career at the club that gave him his opportunity he'll be known as a leech who rode the dollars in the poor times and when put under scrutiny decided join the poos and wees. He had an opportunity to plant the seeds in side rebuilding from the bottom to develop and impart a legacy. There is now no Bruce legacy just a footnote of a good durable contributor in a bad team.
  19. Hopefully he gets on the park and is able to play regular games. If he does, its an inspired choice for the next 2-3years at least. Can see Jamar moving forward and being our big bodied stay at home forward at least. Jamar will bring the ball to ground. I think Campbell fills the major missing piece from Bailey's game plan which is why we chased Hale so much Pre draft. Now it comes down to out of Hale and Campbell who will offer more to their respective sides.
  20. Our attendences were up by about 8k on average this year. Average percentage rise in attendence is as follows. Rise and Fall in Attendences 1. Melbourne 25% up 2. Collingwood 21% up 3. Fremantle 15% up 4. Geelong 9% up 5. St Kilda 8% up 6. Hawthorn 3% up 7. North 2% up 8. Sydney 1% down 9. Brisbane 2% down 10. Port 2% down 11. Richmond 4% down 12. Eagles 4% down 13. Carlton 5% down 14. Bulldogs 7% down 15. Essendon 8% down 16. Adelaide 17% down I think it becomes obvious after this why the AFL gave us such a favourable draw considering we played at TIO this last year i reckon our attendence was remarkable.
  21. Scoured those picture and the one with the Doc has me concerned the contrast between the Reebok Red and the New Balance Red is different. looks a lot like the red might be a little too field of women game. We are not pink and blue Get the colours right and stick to them that's all I want.
  22. I have also heard rumuors that Scott is interested in the defensive assistant role if he misses the gig at Geelong. Is apparently keen to gain further experience at another club in melbourne till such time another senior coaching role becomes available. Which is his ultimate goal. I have heard he may have had a pre-emptive interview/meeting before the squad left for china. Just have to wait and see post China trip.
  23. An unhappy player or player who wants out is alll the trade leverage any side needs. There's no worse cancer than a player who isn't happy and doesn't keep the faith.
  24. We might just undo all our good work in the Mclean trade by following it up with one of the worst trade blunders. He didn't cut the mustard in the VFL.
  25. I'm spewing were even considering the custard tart can't pick a ball up below his knees just a complete all around spud farmer I'll be [censored] if we blow even our first 2 round picks on this turnip
