Did not notice LJ at training Friday, hope he hasn't got onto Wona's magpie geese as well.
-
No-Dan Bell is the guy whom got into the fight that Mathews got cleaned up.Daniel Bell trained this moring though.
-
He is(Simpson) injured. They thought alot of him in early training--maybe kept in cotton wool.
-
Correct- and they have alot of time for each other.

If we can walk away from the MCG -Sat night without a belting say, over 10 goals- I will feel we have improved quite well. This team could even be a Grand finalist, currently in great form. However,I would love to WIN and say we have improved dramatically.Hope Brown is out. This would give us a better chance.I see we have been substantially backed at the line.

Maybe for rhino's but not me

Have Dunn and Bartram turned the corner?
jayceebee31 replied to sylvinator's topic in Melbourne Demons
We have beaten two very poor teams and met the maggies on a downer. However over the four matches played one has to say both have improved. However, lets judge players after Round 22 not 4. However I also think Dunn could develop into a very versatile player- a Mr Fix it- he has played, back, forward, wing, run with and now ruck..Mr Fix it. I think he could make a great half forward flanker or a tall wingman. Bartram is a struggle. Will always be difficult to hold his place. -
Another area which Jones has improved dramatically is not been caught holding the ball.

AGREE- (as per in my thread list changes-I believe we should be looking at another ruckman. However,in answering this thread- I like Rhys Stanley 200 cm at St Kilda, Hampson, Shaun 20110021.03.88 from Carlton,Laycock at Essendon(however injured alot) to name a few more.Charman from Brisbane is my choice- tough and will give our young one's confidence.

It is AFL law that every club has to change their list by at least 3 players...like DEEOLDFART, therefore, what types would you say we should go for.I think we will be going for players to overcome our perceived weaknesses,NOT LIKE HIM..
-
Note I am the geeza who started a thread and said the first NAB match against Freemantle would be critical to gain momentum and to get to the budgeted target of 31000. However I have always stated we would struggle to get to 32000.I still maintain this theory. However, I sincerely hope we do.Furthermore, it is encouraging to here that 6000 odd from last year, still have not signed up. So Roost it may end up right with his prediction.I do not mind, saying I am wrong when I am..But I am not wrong at this stage. But you are a goose and a clown- if you cannot get the facts right. And if you were referring to me- I predicted we would win 7 games.

Well tell me what type of players you would like to add to our list..knowing we have to pick at least 3 or four..Whom should our recruiters be lookinbg at..Surely this is part of our strategy.. We have enough midfielders/ small forwards/ small defenders...so tell me please...whom??

I disagree with many every points you have raised. Every game this year -there has been no one in our forward line on several occassions in a game. We had Robbo always there(when he played)or a taller forward.Secondly, look at the list- we need, IMO- another tall athletic backman to cover the possible injuries to our talls. Warnock at 192- Rivers at 192- Garland at 191 are versatile defenders but I would like a 193+ athletic type to take over, say CHB-Although we may have one in Morton.(I hear he is still growing , but is still only 192 cms tall.A young developing-David Astbury type would be ideal.I accept your points re Miller & Newton but pose this question to you---we have to take a minumum of 3 picks- say four. We definately need another tall forward-you have not disagreed with that point. What type of player do you think we should take to strengthen our list-R.R??? PLEASE ADVISE.I await with interest.

In watching the games so far this year- we have seen the game plan take significant change as per the pre training drills - that from all parts of the ground we move the ball in waves. In most games, we seem to have no one on the forward line and this to me is worrying. If we had a very good tall, such as a Jack Watts there,he would mostly out run other defenders of their feet-re Franklin like..Ditto Aussie etc.. However, we have, what we have currently and we are doing a grand job under our current circumstances. However, I feel 3 major factors, the football department need to look at heavily, We seem to need as a priority a tall experienced forward(a 193 +), a tall backman(193+) and if we feel,PJ,Spencer & Meeson will not cut it, then another ruckman to back up, Jamar and Gawn.It ws very interesting to hear Luke Darcy on ONE ,Monday night discuss ruckman- and he thought Miller maybe worth considering. I agree after watching 192 cm- Lynden Dunn. Dunn has also showed me - how important he has become as a utility...Back, forward, run with player and now part time ruckman, very universal... I'd like your thoughts, as we move forward and plan for the next few years..Surely we do not need more centreline players ..taking into account we get Jack Viney in 2012.

This is just a stupid statement. During pre season - I thought he was going to become our best recruit.
-
Firstly CJ & ST Would not get a game in my current team. CJ would have to displace Joel McDonald and be in line with others such as Strauss, Cheney. Scot would have to replace Jones or Moloney. I say no way - we will not entertain him. We will look at players such as Chris Dawes,Laycock & Beau Dowler and the like for next year.
-
RR -a very valid point also another being McKenzie doing the same. If the technique is great, then anything is possible. It is not so much strength or bulk/weight but the manner accordingly. Hope he can see another year of playing --he will be the judge because Junior will not play unless he feels he can do as good as this year.(so far)
-
Northey was a brilliant coach -second only to Norm Smith in my opinion.
-
He has been too busy looking at recruiting a couple of tall players for next year- I guess after the stuff ups in recruiting over the last two years in not obtaining Nic Nat & Lewis Jetta as a rookie.
-
And what about GAWN...GAWN will be the best..& Maric.? One player,I feel needs to improve to hold his spot is Bruce. In: Woneamirri, Jurrah, Watts, Rivers, Morton Out: Bennell, Bruce, Bartram, Joel Mac, Bail Gee,when we have the full list--all I can say is GO DEES. Hope we can have six or eight on the interchange next year.
-
Totally correct- your summation is spot on.However, Jamar seems to have gone to a different level(a grade this year)and oozes confidence
-
I am sure Liddell went home and played in The NT competition just recently finished.
-
I cannot believe you left out the SUPERSTAR OF THE FUTURE--- MAX GAWN.He will also break Neita's records.(for most games- most goals) whilst another forgotten player is Wona-Wonaeamirri will be back with vengeance.
