Next thing you will be asking for is to drop or rest Grimes-- for his kicking into the player on the mark and bad decision making kicking in in the first quarter-- to be replaced by Cheney??.He seems tired ??.
Scully will not miss a game for the whole year- he is fitter than the majority at the club.
If that is true it is an utter disgrace- however we should write to the AFL to lode the complaint because that was damning. They also had red, blue and white(Bulldogs colours in their veins-a downright disgrace.
Joel Mac & Stef Martin are two different types of player.Joel is 188 cms tall, weighs 88 kls and is 25 years old and played 86 games whilst Stef has played 29 games- in 3 different roles- Back, Forward and Ruck.He is 23 years old, 198 cms tall and weighs 100 kls. Joel can play HBF, CHB,FB, BP AND POSSIBLY WING.I think a wing would be his best position.
Great post and very accurate in my opinion. May take a reasonable length of time for him to make the neccessary progress- just remember Warnock in his initial 3 to 4 years.I also think he is most suited minding the tall on the opposition forward line.
Cam has mentioned this a few times now, which is totally undertandable. However, he has also says the MCG will always be home. This to me,says ,whilst the operations of the club maybe elsewhere, our heritage and future playing wise will always be at the MCG
It has been brought to my attention that Matt Burgan- the person behind the now famous Phantom NAB Draft picks will be joining the MFC. Great assistance to Ryan Larkin
I do not accept that explanation.I do not remember the club announcing this.I feel the club has tried Stef Martin in several positions and at this stage he has not been really successful in any. Again, it is my opinion that a tall back role is the best for him and that position has been the best for him so far.
Yes he his-however he got a hit 2 weeks ago and knocked the stuffing right out of him..He will now have to regroup and play well for a recall.I would also expect Bail to reume at Casey as he would have lost a great deal of fitnss by now.The club also needs to work out what they want to do with Martin. Is he to develop as a backman, forward or ruckman. I think he did better in a tall back position but whom would he now squeeze out.Possibly Garland may be moved to a wing or forward roll.Interesting times ahead.
Why bring me into it,I do not do as you state..you maybe getting mixed up with your mates R.R or Enforcer(budding CEO)-- however I see Jack Grimes has been moved to a ruck rover role in the team list..and told today he will play there..I will not say I told you all that this should happen or.....
Seriously R.R -well explained. No Bail's actually said it was a bad kick-did not carry to MacDonald on the full.He also said he has had trouble kicking out when under pressure, sometimes .However, he also said- that you also stated that sometimes a player needs to kick to the side or back to move forward. However, he also stated it is the discretion and decision making that sometimes is the mistake.Grimes- is seriously one of our developing A grade players whom is naturally still learning after playing only 18 games..HOWEVER- I still believe if he continued to make elementary mistakes (and IF it was deemed to be the lack of discipline -he should be dropped). No player is or should be above the team's perspective, being the game plan and trying to perfect it.Tough but true--similar to your job as a Mod..
Dan,I accept your points verbatim. However, I was saying or trying to say is- IF he continued kicking backwards and this was against the game plan - he should be moved forward(which I believe he would be better placed in the team - such as midfielder/ ruck rover-interchanging with McKenzie) or if he stayed in his current role and was again undisciplined then for disciplinary reasons- MAY need to go back to Casey to be seen as setting the example. This is my explanation- because the game against Brisbane we moved the ball through the guts with aplomb --against North we kicked backwards ,kicked into the man on the mark several times, didn't run through the centre, kicked backwards -many times because we could not cope with the pressure..We should have gone through the guts as per our game plan and placed pressure on North..All I have done is picked out Grimes as a player as an example of what I was saying.. and I stick to what I have said.
Without mentioning Grimes's name he was disappointing in the way players kicked backwards as Grimes did last Saturday-stated this on SEN today.I rest my case.
Fair comments on your reply. I actually watched the replay today. Height and weight was definately a problem. However, you are correct in that- the pressure along with control out of the centre was the major factor.Height in the ruck was a contributing factor here too.
