  1. I agree. Today was saving grace for both sides. Melbourne just couldn't get over the line.
  2. I don't "think" we'll beat anyone. We WILL lose all three.
  3. Today was incredibly disappointing. Incredibility.
  4. Holy [censored]... Wayne Carey played for North?
  5. Baby boomer much? 10. Seriously, who cares? As long as the main colours are used? I mean, really? Does it REALLY urk you if your team isn't wearing its traditional jumper? Boo hoo. Manchester United says hello (just to give you a little perspective and compare this league to other pro sports leagues). 9. The league did this to preserve the ground and ensure it is 100% for the main contest. I'm sorry you miss out on watching an extra 2 hours of football, albeit from a VFL side. 8. The Grand Final is the way it is. There are 100,000 seats, potentially 1,000,000 people after tickets. The people that get tickets -- corporates -- contribute more to the league financially than what supporters do. They (AFL) have an obligation to maintain that relationship so the league can grow. Move on. Just line up a few extra hours earlier. Or pay extra at the start of the year to guarantee you a seat. 7. As with any professional league in the world, scheduling is based on performance. For example, the NBA schedules most marquee teams to play every Friday and Saturday night. Occasionally, the Warriors or Clippers get a marquee game. But once or twice a season. Same as in the AFL. 6. I sense a bit of jealousy? If teams go out of their way and create their own brand and their own rivalry, they should be able to maintain it without compromise. People complain about it. It's Collingwood vs. Essendon. Who cares? ANZAC Day is their day. They made that clash what it is. 5. lol. You sound like my dad. There are 17 teams, 18 next year. That would mean 9 games on one day. Get a clue. I'm sorry -- do you need to go to church on Sunday? Or maybe you don't want to miss Better Homes and Gardens on Friday night? Seriously, it's the weekend. Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon. It's the same [censored]. Seriously. 4. I agree. We need SOO back. 3. Wait...you're complaining because a team plays TOO many finals? Or that top teams aren't rewarded for season performance? They are, via home ground advantage and a second chance. How many games would you have them play? One? 2. The AFL was created to preserve the VFL and its original teams, as well as allow the game to grow. Being against that would be against the growth, and survival, of the game you supposedly love. 1. Yes. Etihad car park is a disgrace. $25? LMAO.
  6. He was a superb ruckman at ground level and around the ground, but not the best tap ruckman.
  7. It's a shame that the Norm Smith passion hasn't been fused into the club's culture. A damn shame.
  8. Two minnow clubs playing to save their seasons. I think the Saints will get up. I feel as little confidence about this game as I did the North game.
  9. His name is too generic for him to be a star. His name should be "Hans Evans" or something.
  10. We'd destroy them if we were at full strength. Saints by 4 goals. They are due.
  11. 15 year-old female bandwagon supporters.
  12. Where is Joel MacDonald? Bring him in. Bring rivers back. Test Newton down back. We risk getting killed by St. Kilda's talls this week.
  13. I think that this year is seeing a magnifying of his coaching stats. Even teams that have been rebuilding don't have as damning statistics. He is in trouble. And the next month's schedule doesn't help. He should start looking for another job.
  14. It's our toughest stretch all year. The next 6 games determine whether or not we will be playing finals. And we won't be.
  15. It was really bad. But I don't blame the umpires. The league is trying really hard to remove interpretation from certain rules and make them very clear. Now what we have is a lack of proper execution in umpiring. You have one umpire on one end calling holding the ball despite a lack of prior opportunity or an opportunity to dispose of the ball, while the other umpire on the other end does not make a call that is more inline with what we'd all expect to be holding the ball. To me, the complicates the game.
  16. Is Garland injured? If not, I don't understand the logic in replacing a tall backman when we're low on talls with a small VFL player.
  17. I can see us losing.
  18. No way Gawn plays. The kid just played Casey seconds. No chance. Dunn + Martin + Watts + Rivers (if he plays) + Green all have to help with the ruck work, especially if Daw plays.
  19. There were absolutely no Adelaide supporters there. Maybe 500. They normally come in droves, but they were no where. There were a few on the wing in the Southern Stand, but their cheer squad was essentially non-existent. You could normally count on 1-3k Adelaide supporters.
  20. Level 4 at the G is fantastic. It's ten times better than the [censored] ass "stadium" in Etihad. You can to get up off your seat to see the boundary line.
  21. I don't think he has been that great. He's been solid, and is at least getting his hands on the ball. And he doesn't look like a lost sheep anymore.
  22. He has helped make this game a national game that gets (more) recognition on the international table. The game is expanding and growing. Things change. Embrace and move on, or you'll be left behind. I mean, really, we get more football now than ever. How can that be a bad thing? I for one still love this great game of ours.
  23. I can't believe I sat through some bogan with infected finger nails pointing to his moronic tattoos just so I could listen to Brad Green say everything we've already heard.
  24. How the guy led a team to a flag is beyond me.
  25. I don't have a favourite at the moment. Of all time, it would have to be a toss up between Viney, Neitz and Jacko
